Cell phone footage shows that Renee Good tried to drive away from the ICE agent who shot her. But an AI video shows Good pledging allegiance to ISIS before plowing her car into a crowd of blonde Christian children. For busy Chief Executives of the United States, it can be hard to know what to trust.

New found facts I'm finding out. ?
MTG - another GA Brian Kemp type rino. ?

Turns out Margorie TG is now pals with the head of Code Pink. and MTG is now a regular on the leftwing for white female rage machine - "The View".
Code Pink is funded by Soros and the Chi Coms.
Recall the Trump cabinet dinner at a DC restaurant a while ago - and Code Pink crashed it? (and we all thought it was strange)
Yeah - Turns out MTG was not invited (why would she be?- she is not part of Trump's cabinet) Possibly this made MTG angry.
Coincidence that MTG found out the restaurant where the Trump cabinet dinner was going to take place.
MTG called the restaurant a few times to make sure. (what?) apparently so.
Then - her pals Code Pink Show up to crash to dinner.
Clues.

The Washington National Opera is moving out of the Trump Kennedy Center. The MSM are trying to spin it as either the WNO hating Trump, or reacting to so many audience members refusing to set foot in the center for hatred of Trump. But the WNO's official letter just mentions new financial requirements at the Center:

" The current requirement from the Center’s management is for WNO to demonstrate that each production or event is fully underwritten through anticipated ticket sales and secured contributed revenue sources before it can be approved. This is impractical for WNO, since seasons must be conceived and developed well in advance of funding opportunities and the timing of when it is optimal to project revenue from ticket sales. "

Maybe that's just a nice way for the WNO to say "Trump, people hate you, so they're not going to buy opera tickets anymore?" CC, JSM

She didn't know what else to say, she was very nervous and she has a real sarcastic streak. He just laughed.

So the Byrd/Babbitt shooting has come up here off and on. Wince was kind enough to share a Google AI analysis of the decision not to prosecute Byrd. I looked at the documents the analysis referenced, and while these are public, short summaries of the investigations, what stuck out to me was that the DC USAO said it focused its analysis on whether Byrd committed a civil-rights violation, 18 USC 242. This is a high bar to clear. There was no mention of plain old DC Criminal Code homicide statutes - murder, manslaughter, neg hom - which the USAO also prosecutes. The public version of the Capitol Police internal investigation just says a very generic nothing unlawful/nothing disciplinable. One of the homicide statutes is much easier to prove than 242, because they're basically the common law: intent to take the life, and no recognized excuse. It would have made more sense for the USAO to say "there's not even enough evidence to take negligent homicide to trial, so of course we can't do him for civil rights either." Passing strange that they said it the other way around.

Again, I still think it was a good shoot in the middle of a bad situation. But it would be nice if this kind of logic had been used for a bunch of other coppers. CC, JSM

A question- If Reza Pahlavi returns to Iran, a real possibility, and declares himself- with support of the rampaging mobs as Shah of Iran, or some other interim title, and then asks for US help to identify and destroy remnants of Hezbollah and other islamist militias, does that count as going to war against a foreign nation? My thoughts- no. It's aiding and assisting a potential ally. It seems to me that the Attorney General could assemble a grand jury to review the multiple videos already in the public domain and interview witnesses to charge Border Agent Jonathan Ross with murder under Minnesota law. This is needed to prevent Trump from simply pardoning the suspect without a trial.

The Feds have already removed the Ross family from their Twin Cities residence, and so they are likely no longer in the state, a clear violation of the law.

I love the gambling bug talk, seriously. A very intriguing obsession, to my mind. Back in the 80's I was working out of a labor pool in Pheonix and I met this guy there who called himself Gambler. Gambler was living in his car at the time and trying to scrape up enough dough to go to Vegas and get back on his feet. Football season had just ended, and Gambler had been winning big all season long, living like a king in a suite in a casino, wine, women, and song. Then a missed extra point ruined him, but only until he had enough dough for a grubstake. Then he could go back and win it all over again. A very resilient attitude, probably served him well in life.

Ref 'fly and state prosecution of feds:

There's a post on Volokh by Prof Michael Mannheimer about the intricacies of this issue. It is apparently not as cut/dried as JD Vance's "absolute immunity." Mainly because there is not a huge amount of precedent.

I will cross-post something I put there:

There are other de-facto ways the USG could stop a state prosecution of a fed:

1. Special Mission: The USG tells the State "oh yes, try our employee by all means. Nothing will get to the truth faster than a state judge and jury doing what they do best. However, we are using our employee right now for a special mission. Can't tell you, very hush-hush. We'll let you know when she is free. As the junior sovereign here, you surely understand." This has happened with military defendants in state cases not connected at all to their military duties - even homicides.

2. Unavailability of Evidence: The USG can simply refuse to hand over any records, physical evidence, or other government property to the state. And any potential federal witnesses. This one does depend a little bit on the state court being an honest broker, though - they could just declare they have enough evidence already.

3. Gag the Employee: The USG can order the employee not to discuss the case with anyone, including any state officials. The employee then moves to dismiss the state case because her ability to, say, testify to affirmative defenses, has been taken away. This also depends on an honest state court.

I don't see how a state could successfully ask a federal court to counteract any of the above tactics. Even if the SG shows up and says with a straight face that the defendant is urgently needed to count paperclips in the DHS warehouse. A more serious argument would be that the defendant's fellow agents can't testify, as there is a risk to ongoing federal investigations. Which investigations might or might not involve officials of the state government as subjects (this very well could be the case in MN with SomaliGate). Even an innocent question and answer ("yes, I came to the scene from my previous location at First and Third") could reveal part of an ongoing case (First and Third is a BDSM dungeon patronized by the Governor).

It's not for a state to say its own interests outweigh the US's. Or for a court to micromanage the USG's use of its employees. CC, JSM

john mosby said...

A lot of the cases on state prosecution of feds seem to be built on the assumption that the states are honest brokers. But the Constitution is built on the assumption that men will do whatever they can get away with for their dishonest goals. A rule that allows too many state prosecutions of feds would eviscerate the Supremacy Clause once it's in the hands of ruthless state officials.

Imagine the Jim Crow South if someone had the idea of prosecuting the hell out of FBI agents and US Marshals. CC, JSM

Ronald J. Ward said...

On the Fox breaking news of arrests, for starters, this is exactly what I want to see- criminals off the streets. But as “lefties” like I do, there’s always that “but…..”, not because I can’t appreciate success but because a few thing don’t smell right.

For example, Pao Angelo Vang — convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child was arrested June 6, 2025. Thong Lao, Tou Pao Lee, Va Vang, Xiong Pao Vang, Yee Shae, and Yia Xiong, were also arrested earlier last year, not during the current occupation.

Again, glad to see them gone but it puts us back to the same argument of justification for mass detentions, deportations and dehumanization of noncriminals and even American citizens. And obviously, they knew exactly who and where these people were which further questions the tactics we’re seeing towards others.

And then we have ICE Director Todd M. Lyons; “Some of these criminal aliens have had final orders of removal for 30 years, but they’ve been free to terrorize Minnesotans. ICE’s arrests prevent recidivism and make communities safer, but it feels like local politicians want to ignore that part and drum up discontent rather than protect their own constituents.”

So, the Feds convicted them, ordered their removals, turned them loose, and now want to play a blame game. Under U.S. law, immigration enforcement and deportation are federal responsibilities, handled by DHS and its agencies like ICE. States and cities do not have their own deportation powers.

Federal authorities initiate removal proceedings, adjudicate deportation orders (through immigration courts), and execute those orders when individuals are found and taken into custody. So when Lyons says these individuals had final orders of removal for decades, that means an immigration judge issued a deportation order that was not carried out at the time.

The 102-unit building at 1520 Sedgwick Ave. in Morris Heights as of Saturday had a staggering 194 open housing-code violations dating back to 2016 — including 88 “Class C” violations considered “immediately hazardous.”

They included rat and roach infestation; broken doors and refrigerators; and mold, records show.”

Mamdani has a socialist’s eye for picking bureaucratic talent.

The best take I have seen on the Minnesota shooting yet.

From Breitbart via Instapundit:

An unidentified protester outside the Whipple Building Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was interviewed about Wednesday’s ICE-involved shooting and said, “We have to show up with guns and end this.”

The unidentified protester accused ICE of shooting people “with no cause” and said, “We have to show up with guns.”

He continued, “We have to, there’s no way around it. I don’t care if I don’t have a Minnesota carry permit. I’m unarmed right now but this is the last time I show up to face these guys without a weapon.”

I think I can guarantee that if the lefty lunatics show up with guns, things will end very, very quickly.

Wow, I sure hope that Israeli snipers... err, I mean the Iranian government doesn't shoot into the crowd triggering an attack by Trump! Nah, that could never happen in a million years, and I must be antisemitic to even think the thought! Just because stuff like that has happened dozens of times to "justify" the swap out of regimes for US friendly ones.

Usually it involved seducing young people to change their government for a new one which will take huge bribes to sell out those young people's national patrimony in terms of their own country's natural resources to cronies of the US regime at pennies on the dollar.

Interesting, Rustygrommet, very interesting. I've always assumed gamblers to be formed from the kind of haunted, self-destructive personalities that alcoholics and drug addicts display. Profligate, desperate, insatiable.... maybe adrenaline addicts are a closer presumption. But then again your example and Dinky Dau here show that a successful bettor doesn't simply play hunches or rely on luck, but accumulates knowledge and information to minimize risk and maximize the chance for success.
