That's the top rated comment on this TikTok about Rama Duwaji, the wife of Zohran Mamdani:
ALSO: From The Cut: "The Artist in Gracie Mansion Rama Duwaji is excited for her husband Zohran Mamdani’s new job. Just don’t call her the mayor’s plus-one." Excerpt:@cheflivvasquez These portraits of the incoming first lady of NY are incredible. #RamaDuwaji in her own words for #TheCut #zohranmamdani #NYC #themayorofnyc ♬ original sound - Pool Rules Comedy
She brought... intentionality to her cover shoot, where she wore a mix of young designers alongside New York–based, POC-owned, and vintage brands, all on loan; she even wore a pair of ceramic hands made by photographer Szilveszter Makó, a nod to her own artistic practice. “I love fashion, and I love being creative and putting things together and styling things.” She’s spent years compiling the best stores for thrifting in the tristate area, even if she’s not ready to blow up their spot just yet. “I used to have a Google Maps folder with 50 different places. There’s some great ones in Queens. There’s some great ones in the Bronx,” she tells me. “If you have a car, New Jersey.”...
She teaches a ceramics class:
She explains that the evening’s theme is “Tooty Fruity” — Duwaji has doodled the O’s as a pair of cherries — which she encourages guests to interpret as they wish or ignore altogether as they paint their tiles. She shares the visual references that inspired her, swiping through images of names carved into a watermelon, a butterfly made of root vegetables, a Palestinian flag made of produce, and covers of Fruits, the now-shuttered Japanese fashion magazine. There are pictures of Duwaji and her friends harvesting molokhia, a leafy jute plant popular in Arab cuisine, upstate; of the olive harvest in the West Bank, where Palestinians tend to their trees and pick up branches axed by Israeli settlers; and the kind of cheeky clip art that Middle Eastern aunties love to send their family WhatsApp chats. “I love how intertwined fruit is with the language we speak with our loved ones,” she says.ADDED: Duwaji gave no examples of that fruit talk. I guess we might call a beloved child a "peach." There's "apple of my eye" — a cliché that, I think, no one even understands.
Looking for some good examples of love-as-fruit talk, I found this from Mother Teresa:
"Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand. Anyone may gather it and no limit is set."
Khalil Gibran wrote:
"Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit."
And D. H. Lawrence wrote this poem, called "Pomegranate":
You tell me I am wrong.Who are you, who is anybody to tell me I am wrong?I am not wrong. In Syracuse, rock left bare by the viciousness of Greek women,No doubt you have forgotten the pomegranate trees in flower,Oh so red, and such a lot of them.Whereas at Venice,Abhorrent, green, slippery cityWhose Doges were old, and had ancient eyes,In the dense foliage of the inner gardenPomegranates like bright green stone,And barbed, barbed with a crown.Oh, crown of spiked green metalActually growing! Now, in Tuscany,Pomegranates to warm your hands at;And crowns, kingly, generous, tilting crownsOver the left eyebrow. And, if you dare, the fissure!Do you mean to tell me you will see no fissure?Do you prefer to look on the plain side? For all that, the setting suns are open. The end cracks open with the beginning:Rosy, tender, glittering within the fissure.Do you mean to tell me there should be no fissure? No glittering, compact drops of dawn?Do you mean it is wrong, the gold-filmed skin, integument, shown ruptured? For my part, I prefer my heart to be broken. It is so lovely, dawn-kaleidoscopic within the crack.

Sounds like the Althouse tabloid edition.
Why i call them blank pages the jew hating wife who was married in a gated compound in uganda where gays are hanged not quite the same ring does it
Fairly cute but ...
His policies are the horrific failed policies of the 19th and 20th century but no matter, let us create a cult of personality about him to trick those who loathe finance. It will probably work…
…an air of Marie Antoinette about her there is…
They are both poseurs. Posing as people of the people. Please. They are both the classic young socialists. Living large with expensive tastes, all the while denouncing the 'corporate scum' who take the people's money.
New York is primed to live under more BS yet again. You would have thought DeBlasio was the bottom, that it couldn't get more ridiculous than that man. But there is one thing you can usually say about New York: You haven't seen anything yet.
When the initial hype is over, will she gush over the fruit at the city-owned grocery stores?
Think about it: the only hope for NYC is that they are poseurs and frauds.
Ceramics or pottery?
Something similar to the way libtards portray asswipe Obama and the fugly dipshit he married.
They are both poseurs.
Take a look at her art and you will agree that, at a minimum, she is a poseur.
Yah, camelot those two are…
So much amusement in NYC! It's hard to deny the residents what they voted for. But I live far away in rural spendor with a political party that is exploring ways to end property taxes. Special thanks to the Professor (ret) who brings me this amusement daily by way of the New York Times. Fun times, fun times.

I'd say more like Camel-lot. Used.

A discussion of fruit and its relation to love
She's just the cutest Jew hating foreign invader wifey poo! Yes she is! Wo wears the burka in that family? He does!
gush and drool for the D.
Meanwhile - with newly revealed massive tax payer fraud Tim Walz day care scams - Now we know why Mamdamni want's in on that scam.
"... who was married in a gated compound in Uganda where..." I was gonna allude to something about fruit but decided it was too coarse. This wife doesn't look much like a leader of the proletariat, eh comrade?
Fruit of the Loons
A fairly wealthy girl.
Lots of expensive, elite institutions and organized career-enhancement gigs. Virginia Comonwealth U is about like UCLA cost-wise, but much less selective, other than, apparently, its art school.
The School of Visual Arts in New York is a for profit institution but apparently rather better than the similar Academy of Art in San Francisco.
Well, no burka, abaya or head covering, in any of the pics on the internet, so thats a plus.
Mamdamni is a poser and a fraud. He's the coddled son of a wealthy film director and his only experience running anything is nothing.
He tried to be a rap artist.
But hey - he's young and cute and Americans are dumb.
(any bad spellings &/or misplaced apostrophes are pre-coffee-ian)
Aren't there 8-9 million people on the island of Manhattan?
Is that right? anyway - only 1 million people sent in their ballot.
As Democrats on top - they will both grift millions - and their adoration super-fans will cheer.
A rich mans trophy wife, Syrian international edition. Maybe a cut lower, not Oxbridge or an Ivy, and thats not from lack of resources.
Family dynamics can be interesting, the father seemed detached when he was on-stage at his son's post-election hype fest.
One of my favorite scenes in the Godfather (1-2) was when the younger Vito brought his wife a single pear, carefully wrapped in paper, after he lost his job at the Abbandando Grosseria because of Don Fanucci.
We'll see what Momdani's "government grocery stores," if that wasn't just a lie to get elected, do to small grocers like Abbandando Grosseria.
Vito did eventually shoot Fanucci in the face, only to be shot five times himself much later in life while shopping... for fruit.
“… an air of Marie Antoinette about her there is…”
Let them eat fruitcake.
Democrats and Socialists didn't want to get rid of French nobility.
They just thought the wrong people were French Nobility.
The video finally started playing.
She would be attractive if she didn't do all that stupid stuff to her hair and face and clothes.
"I think vegetables can be very sensuous, don't you?"
"No, vegetables are sensual. People are sensuous."
Not cute... Fake! Gag me.
The Jews have a lot of influence on the garment industry in NYC. However, the field of ceramics is wide open. As Somalis are to child care, Ugandans can be to ceramics. I can see ceramic workshops in every neighborhood. There is a huge demand for Palestinian flag tiles, and under her guidance, these workshops can fill this demand.
And down in Louisiana

There lived a girl that I swear to the world
Made the alligators look tame
Polk salad Annie, polk salad Annie
Everybody said it was a shame
'Cause her momma was a-workin' on the chain gang
(A mean, vicious woman) Uh!
Every day 'for suppertime
She'd go down by the truck patch
And pick her a mess of polk salad
Carry it home in a tote sack
Polk salad Annie
The gators got your granny, chomp, chomp, chomp
Everybody says it was a shame
'Cause her momma was a workin' on the chain gang
(A wretched, spiteful, straight-razor totin' woman, heh-heh)
(Lord, have mercy, pick a mess of it)
Uh!
Her daddy was lazy and no 'count
Claimed he had a bad back
All her brothers were fit for was stealin' watermelons
Out of my truck patch
Polk salad Annie
The gators got your granny, woah ooh-hoo
Everybody said it was a shame
'Cause her momma was a-workin' on the chain gang
Sock a little polk salad to me
You know I need a mean mess of it
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Good God
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh-uh-uh!
Got to have me
Ate her up, heh - Tony Joe White
Obviously, when men say stupid things like "my wife is out of my league," there is some sort of hidden resentment. In this case, it's just a random turd who reads the NY Times. The commenter is implying that Mamdani is an average looking man, maybe even a bit ugly. His wife, on the other hand, is confident and attractive. But does this mean that his wife belongs on a higher pedestal than everyone else? For the average NY Times reader, I think, women's looks determine their social standing (or whatever league they happen to find themselves in).
I think it's kind of bull. Being attractive means what exactly? Working out a little bit, dressing nice...
The theme today seems to be Seinfeld... stories about nothing
Call her what she is - a clothes hanger. And that black ensemble that’s she’s sporting would make Margaret Hamilton envious.
HOW does this have ANY THING to do with the Muslim Mayor elect?
or, are we Pretending that "everybody" loves him now?
EVEN SO, What does THAT have to do with his wife?
A Nadezhda Krupskaya for our time.
"Affordability" means price controls. When did that ever work? Price controls always create shortages.
And that black ensemble that’s she’s sporting would make Margaret Hamilton envious.
The last women who famously wore black turtlenecks (Elizabeth Holmes) turned out to be a criminal fraudster. Just saying...

"Ceramics or pottery?"
Are you picturing a Venn diagram of some sort? In what way could it matter? She calls the class ceramics. I have an existing tag, "pottery." The only ceramics that would not take the tag "pottery" would either get my "sculpture" tag or would be about sinks and toilets and that sort of thing or about technical things like electronics or dentistry?
Back in the early 1970s there was this pretty young woman to whom I read the poetry of Khalil Gibran. She married me anyway. Last January was our Golden Anniversary.
There's "apple of my eye" — a cliché that, I think, no one even understands.
English didn't have the word "pupil" for that part of the eye until the 1400s. Instead of calling it "that round thing in my eye that's not the coloured bit" they just used the name of a common round thing. The cliche means that person is in the center of my vision. What I'm focused on, all that I see.

Imagine all the photo shoots Melania would have had if Trump had stayed a Democrat. On the one hand, her being ignored just highlights the hypocrisy. On the other, as someone who grew up influenced by '60s and '70s feminism, the focus on any first lady's looks feels dated, so I'm fine with her not being on the cover of magazines.
@tommyesq, I caught that too.
Isn't she supposed to be stoned to death in the new, progressively modern Islamic and Sharia compliant NYC (to the thunderous cheers of all the feminists and leftists) because she is not in a burka?
In the bad old days of hereditary monarchy, we were ruled by people who had acquired their position by accomplishing... absolutely nothing. Today we elect them, and I guess that's progress.

I give Mamdani (It’s Ma’am!!) a week after he’s installed to back pedal on free bus rides and city-owned grocery stores.
No one wrote a musical about Juan Peron.
"...very sweet man that everybody loves...": That's the phrase that supposed to provide reassurance to the doubters that he's really harmless. Update: He loves dogs, too.
He really does have a great smile, a delighted, happy communist. It's the kind of consistency that takes a lot of practice.

Yes, the lizard people shouldn’t look like lizards.

Ceramics can be clay, but also other materials and ceramics are fired.

You know, she's also parked at the same Federal prison as Ghislane Maxwell. One wonders how much they interact, if at all.
What a great SNL skit that could make, potentially. Elizabeth, forgetting to put on her fake deep voice and piercing stare as she drops a prison iron on her foot in the prison laundry and squeaks out "Damn ! !", or something saltier, while Ghislane mutters about those stains on the linens, 'Out damned spot !'.
I understand young people falling for this crap. They think it's new, but the older ones should know better. The Dems have one very limited playbook, and it never turns out to be true, but there is a constant flow of new naïve voters born and imported everyday.
The flattery is fruitful, nontoxic, and endemic. Not like that terrible stuff on the other side.
This is delicious.
“"Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand.”
Eve set the example. She expressed her love for Adam with an apple.
Shouldn't he be dating trans women?
She has her own website, ramaduwaji.com. Love it or hate it, nobody politics-adjacent has provided such a window to the soul. Maybe Kamala's stepdaughter with her grundgy fashion.
I thought she was Hindu ("Rama") but she's actually Syrian and grew up in the Emirates. She's more Muslim than Mamdani himself.
Even if she posed in a full burkha, I would rather gouge out my eyes with a grapefruit spoon than look at her. Because SHE married HIM .

I love how intertwined fruit is with the language we speak with our loved ones
Looks like she’s dragging an entire wagon of peaches under that dress.
The photos of her have an other-ized, orientalist vibe, but if that’s how she chooses to present herself who am I to complain?
Shouldn't he be dating trans women?
Who's to say he isn't?
“Shouldn't he be dating trans women?”
tommyesq responded…
“Who's to say he isn't?”
She could be a cis woman who identifies as a trans woman.
A cis woman the size of a trans woman . . . .
yes, that would be amusing,
She is definitely cuter than Hillary back in the day. But as Johnny Rivers said, “a pretty face can hide n evil mind”. So there it is.
Long ago at a semiconductor manufacturers trade show, I had been eyeing the banner across the hall for some hours. It was the Coors logo. Come lunchtime, I wandered over expecting to quench my thirst (dont judge me).
But when I got there, it was a big booth for Coors Technical Ceramics. Disappointing.
Coors was big in the industry because of experience making and shipping product in ceramic jugs.

Umm…OK. I’ll have to take a closer look next time.
Zohran Mamdani is a man with charisma who can be labeled a "winner." Trump is swiping right on that every time.

~40% of the people in New York that voted in that election were born outside the United States.
The majority of Mamdani's voters almost certainly were not born in the country and most of those people came from 3rd world shitholes.
I am not surprised by Mamdani being elected.

Sorry, just seeing this. I used to work aerospace. Thermal Protection System tiles are ceramic. They used them on the Space Shuttle. Musk uses them on Starship. And various USAF aircraft use them. I don't think that is the type of ceramic Rama Duwaji is producing. Nor do I suspect she is providing ceramic insulators used in electrical transmission.
Sorry not sorry, first thing I thought when I saw the first picture of them together was "beard."
kak/ron/rich/chuck has to make every blog post about the man he secretly admires, the Big, Beautiful President, Donald J. Trump
Definitely high maintenance.
