Merry Christmas to everyone! Hope you had a great day.

Write about anything you want in the comments.

ADDED: Can you see the pale disc of the sun to the right of the capitol dome? You have to look quite closely to see what was nicely visible "in person." Meade's video, one post down, shows what was there to be seen and what my photo barely records.

Good grief, Bill Bennett is still alive? He must be 1000 years old. Last time i read about him, he'd lost $millions gambling, after claiming to be some sort of "social conservative".

Maybe that's why he's still working a a lobbyist. The Mob doesn't believe in "Loan forgiveness".

I have been watching the progress of the "recycling" psychodrama. We are relatively fortunate, here in Pyongyang on the Willamette, in that we are only forced, by the moronic sub-humans on the City Council, to divide our garbage into two streams, "landfill" and "recycle". I understand some more advanced municipalities require three or four separate containers. Of course, the recycle container is larger than the landfill container, because you are supposed to recycle more than you send to the landfill.

Originally, the recycle container was for cardboard, paper, metal and plastic. All plastic. However, it turns out that the Chikes have stopped buying plastic garbage, and no one else ever bought plastic garbage, so now we are down to just milk jugs. That's the only plastic you can recycle, and if you put any other kind of plastic in the recycle bin, you get a nasty note, or a fine.

But the recycle bin is still twice the size of the garbage bin, even though you can't put anything in it. Presumably because, having concocted this absurd carnival of garbage, and having discovered that it is fundamentally dysfunctional, our Clown-Moron-Kings have washed their hands of the matter. They can't be bothered to worry about what we do with our trash. Just keep doing the stupid, pointless, inane things we told you to do before, back when we were interested. We're busy concocting new counter-realities with which to bedevil you.

So. At this point, the idiot criminals who devised this absurd rigamarole, have finally admitted that it is absurd. No one has any intention of "recycling" anything, and no one claims otherwise. But they still insist that we separate our garbage into two or three or four streams, before they toss it all in the landfill. Because it was never about anything except jacking us around, and making their criminals cronies rich. And the fact that the whole scam has been exposed doesn't lessen in the slightest their desire to jack their betters around, or the desire of their criminal friends to grift.

Peachy said...

Jupiter. Yeah. yeah. We have strange recycling rituals. Most of it cannot be sold - because no one wants it. You see - no one washes out the old milk jugs - and the Chikes don't want our smelly un-rinsed science experiments.

At one point, I had some dealings with my City Councilor, due to an idiotic zoning ordinance that prevented my accessing most of my property. And I came to realize, that although he was obviously well-educated, and had a sizable vocabulary, that he could deploy quite grammatically, he was essentially a low-grade moron. He was appalled at the absurd requirements of the Eugene municipal zoning laws -- which were, in fact drafted by an intern from the University of Oregon Landscape Architecture Department -- but he did not seem to feel that this was in any way his fault, even though he and his fellow Councilors had rubber-stamped the whole three-hundred-page farrago of gibberish without even reading it, and continued to approve the budget of the City's Land Use Department, which adamantly refused to grant the least variance from these pointy-headed regulations.

Of course, like all the Councilors, he had a no-show job with some BS tax-sucking organization, which enabled him to devote forty or fifty hours a week to impersonating a bobble-head doll. He told me that he was continuing a long family tradition of "public service".

Peachy said...

But as Jupiter states - they've been lying to us. It's all garbage.

It occurs to me, that my ability to see right through all this inane hype about AI, which I had attributed to my long experience with computers, may also owe something to that encounter with a useless system glibly feigning intelligence by deploying words in an accepted pattern, without any slightest concept of "truth" or even plausibility. If a computer could be moronically complacent, while emitting grammatically correct but meaningless word-salads, then it could replace my City Councilor. That day may be at hand. Certainly, if that means he can be removed, I am all for it. Landfill or recycle, I am all for tossing that human sponge.

Merry Christmas to all, including the many Sleazebags who loved Jeffrey Epstein, gave him bundles of money, went to his Island, attended his parties, and thought he was the greatest guy on earth, only to “drop him like a dog” when things got too HOT, falsely claimed they had nothing to do with him, didn’t know him, said he was a disgusting person, and then blame, of course, President Donald J. Trump, who was actually the only one who did drop Epstein, and long before it became fashionable to do so. When their names get brought out in the ongoing Radical Left Witch Hunt (plus one lowlife “Republican,” Massie!), and it is revealed that they are Democrats all, there will be a lot of explaining to do, much like there was when it was made public that the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax was a fictitious story - a total Scam - and had nothing to do with “TRUMP.” The Failing New York Times, among many others, was forced to apologize for their bad and faulty Election “Reporting,” even to the point of losing many subscribers due to their highly inaccurate (FAKE!) coverage. Now the same losers are at it again, only this time so many of their friends, mostly innocent, will be badly hurt and reputationally tarnished. But sadly, that’s the way it is in the World of Corrupt Democrat Politics!!! Enjoy what may be your last Merry Christmas! ~ President Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

Realized during dinner we've been married 47 years now, and prepared turkey, ham, or Rock Cornish Game Hens for Christmas, never a roast. In fact, our first rib roast not at a restaurant or a wedding reception or some other formal affair.

New Years will be what has been become our family custom- seafood. Many types. Crabcakes- my wife's from Maryland, scallops, shrimp, maybe some other things, and corn fritters. With maple syrup. Corn fritters made from the Fannie Farmer recipe book her mother gave us when we married.

On Christmas night, America's fate hung in the balance

ON CHRISTMAS in 1776, with the Continental Army at its lowest ebb, George Washington stood on the icy banks of the Delaware River and launched a last-ditch effort to keep the American Revolution alive. He ordered his ragged, under-supplied soldiers into a flotilla of shallow freight boats and ferries, and began a hazardous crossing into New Jersey, fighting a severe winter storm and a river clogged with floating ice. About 2,400 men followed him, pushing with aching slowness through the freezing wind and snow.

The plan Washington conceived was audacious: After crossing the river, he and his men would march 9 miles to launch a surprise attack on the enemy garrison at Trenton, which was manned by 1,500 Hessian mercenaries — German troops in the pay of King George.

Aborting a baby's life is allowed up to six weeks under current homicide laws and later in self-defense, as determined by a qualified doctor, not abortionists and Cecile clinicians as in Planned Parenthood umbrella corporation where hunan rites are performed for social, clinical, criminal, political, and climate progress. Elective abortions are committed to keep women affordable, available, reusable, and taxable, and sequester the 'burden" of evidence.  Fetus is a technical term-of-art to socially distance abortionists and advocates from their victims. A wicked solution. Deja vu.

The same thing being done with simulants socially distanced from homosexuals in the transgender spectrum under a different flag and rhetoric. The introduction of gender (i.e. sex-correlated attributes) in lieu of sex established from conception in order to push women to the back of the bus and throw girls under.

Anyone who gets on this blog and criticizes and castigates other commenters would do it to Christ himself if He were here commenting. Christ declared such, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren…, you did it to me.” I used to think this was Christ trying step in front of and defend others, and to get us to see other people in a different light. I now believe that this is Christ’s commentary on the hearts of people. I think what He’s telling us is that the same enmity that we willfully nurture in our hearts is (and would just as readily be) directed against Him, in no different of the way it is directed against others. Some people wake up in the morning and by their own free will already have divided the world into partitions and have already decided that they have enemies. They don’t see, usually because they don’t want to see, that the real enemy lies right within their own heart in the form of enmity - their prideful unwillingness to see everybody as their brother or sister worthy of their love. They don’t really believe in Christ’s power to overcome evil His way, so they flatter themselves that they’ve got to step in and reaist and overcome evil for Him, their way. But Christ told us, His peace He gives to us not as the world gives peace.

Or why did the angel say to the shepherds I bring you good tidings of great joy, for unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior…. One of the things he saves us from is the need and the belief that we have to fight against our neighbor to succeed in life, or for things to go well, or to feel joy and be happy.

So for those who believe in Christ, but want to fight with each other on this blog, do you not think that Christ could now call down legions of angels and fix all the problems you think exist? The fact that he doesn’t might tell us something about how he views things. As he said, “the kingdom of God is within you”. So that’s where the “building” needs to occur, within you. Not here in the tearing down of others.

That’s my current view anyway. That’s what I aspire to, even though I am still having to patiently learn how to do it. Merry Christmas to all of you. And peace, good will toward all men and women.

Trump is correct. Men who visited the island will be assumed by their wives to have, at minimum had sex with prostitutes. Many average people already believe every female on the island was underage. Many believe little girls were raped and that every visitor engaged.
Many of the women themselves may have hidden the fact they engaged in sex with strangers, and are now wives and mothers whose lives will change when exposed.
Reality is vast majority of the women were not coerced or forced into having a good time partying with millionaires and billionaires.
And, like the "me too" movement had expected to get a bunch of right leaning people, the end result was leftist being canceled and punished. Some deservedly, some for minor incidents caught up in McMartin type hysteria.
When Trump says last Merry Christmas, he is not predicting or wishing death. He is correctly predicting much family, professional, and public embarrassment for participants.
The wives and children will be humiliated.
While Trump and Clinton have been exposed for having sex outside of marriage, the familial embarrassment has passed.
In the real world, the new revelations will hurt normal families.
Now, commenters will continue to pretend that somehow Trump is a pedophile and they have caught him now.
Long after we have moved on, families still suffer consequences. Especially families of the women with a hidden past who prostituted themselves and are assumed by friends and neighbors to be average wife and mom.

Watching Living Treasure Michael Portillo's Boxing Day Special on GB News. Which is confusingly called "Christmas with Michael Portillo." But hey, there are 12 days of Xmas.

He's interviewing Amy Orr-Ewing, an Oxford and KCL-trained theologian. Portillo asks her devil's-advocate-type questions to draw out information for the general audience. The best thing Prof Orr-Ewing said is that "Our ideas of what is good, and what it means to be British, are inextricably linked to Christianity."

She seemed nice. Too bad she's going to get locked up as soon as she leaves the studio. Can't have that sort of hate speech on British airwaves. CC, JSM

The Oz Labor Party does not have a "u." The spelling wasn't standardized in Oz at the turn of the 20th century, when the party was founded, so they made essentially a coin-flip choice. Then trade-union orneriness probably made them keep it for most of the rest of the century. Of course, like other Labour parties with or without the u, there's no working men left in there now. The EU Could Be Gone in Four Years "The Soviet Union thought it was eternal in 1988. The French monarchy thought it was secure in 1788. The EU thinks it is safe today. They are wrong."

It's a shame that Portillo was pushed aside for some youthful gay experience. I once literally bumped into him on the street in London, and he instantly smiled and reached out for a handshake.
