"... 'cause I think, you know, I’m supposed to be a very smart person, I can ... I have eyes. I have ears. I have, uh, knowledge. I have vast knowledge. I see what’s happening. I get reports that you will never see. And I think it’s horrible what’s happening to Europe. I think it’s endangering Europe as we know it. Europe could be a whole different place. And I think the European people should do something about it...."
Said President Trump, in this long conversation with Politico's Dasha Burns.

In the lead-in she says she discussed the "Obamacare subsidies that are set to expire at the end of the year." I see it stated that way a lot in media. It's misleading. The only subsidies that are set to expire are the enhanced Covid subsidies enacted in response to the pandemic. The original Obamacare subsidies remain as they always were. D's are freaking because without the extra strong Covid enhanced subsidies, they cannot even pretend that the "care" is "affordable." Fact is it's not affordable now; the cost is just masked by subsidies and the cost has gone up every year under the ridiculous system.
Paul Revere, George Washington and Ben Franklin favored shooting people.
Maybe the Brit people could try that.
Worked for us.
@FLC, sadly the Brits are so unarmed now that even having a sharpened tonque in public is like double-wielding Uzis.

The still have access to assault forks. At the moment...
I lectured my wife today, once again (!), on my belief that Trump is always in a negotiating mode. He has made several offers to Zelensky that have been rebuffed while Putin continues to strengthen his position in Ukraine. Part of my lecture was the question; " What if Trump decides to walk away from the Ukraine problem - leaving it in the hands of the Europeans?" ( In Labor 101 "walking away" is always a negotiating option.)The European powers are weak, Germany's armed forces are a skeleton of what they were 20 years ago. Only Poland seems truly committed to their own defense. If the US says it's had enough guff from France et al. and will no longer supply arms to Ukraine, France et al. don't have the ability to resupply Ukraine or resist Russia. It is unrealistic to expect Putin to give back what he has conquered. Someone in Europe has to face reality and push for a settlement before Trump says "I am walking."
Thanks for posting the transcripts. Its so much nicer. I can skip all the stupid questions and and interuptions and just read Trump's answers.
I'm glad is Trump is President when i look at the Russia-Ukraine war and European affairs. Whether the EU leaders will do anything to save themselves is unclear. They seem stuck on stupid.
Theres always pointed fruit
And I must say that Trump's constant attacks on MTG are stupid. Really stupid. I dunno what he's trying to accomplish by attacking her. Does he think the Liberal/leftists and NeverTrumpers will now like him because he's insulting her? He can't be that dumb.
But then his instinct is always to rely on Northeastern Moderates and liberals. Look at his 1st term hiring practices. One Ivy Leaguer and "Smart" person after another. And they all betrayed him. And his endorsements haven't been much better. Always trying to push some Celebrity or Minority candidate. No matter how incompetent.
Reality asserts itself.
apparently reality is a Putin Puppet too.
This is Trump trading Ukraine for Venezuela and possibly Cuba.
"I think it’s endangering Europe as we know it. Europe could be a whole different place. And I think the European people should do something about it...."
The globalists, in their quest to control the world, are doing this to the Europeans. Intentionally. If the people of Europe acted today, bloodshed won't be as bad as it will be in x number of years. The "x" is that point when enough have said enough.
Kennedy had some things right, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."

Meh. MTG sold us out and supported McCarthy. She was always a self promoter and MTG first.
@RCOCEAN: Noem - BA South Dakota State; Burgum - BA North Dakota State; Rubio - U of Florida; Bondi - U of Florida; McMahon - East Carolina; Rollins - Texas A & M; Vought - Wheaton College; Chavez-DeRemer U of California, Fresno; Gabbard Hawaiian Pacific University; Should I go on?

If you read the whole interview, it appears that Europe's besetting sin is not excluding immigrants from black and brown countries. So Hungary, which does do so (and is also an authoritarian) state, is the best, in Trump's view. Seems to fit with Althouse's recent suggestion that Trump is aligning with racism wherever it can be found.
@Stephen: is it skin color or is it culture? The racist - if we must use that word - is the one who doesn’t look beyond skin color.
Achilles: This is Trump trading Ukraine for Venezuela and possibly Cuba.
Obvious for a while now, but an astonishing number of people don't see it.
The left: "Racist! Racist! Racism! Racist! Racist! Racist! Racist! Racism! Oh... and look- racism over there, too!"
Same as it ever was.
I’m not fond of that term because
1. it’s lost it’s meaning now and
2. it’s name calling and doesn’t add to the discussion.
Barry 12:50 - you got it.
the left are lying about their own subsidies and their own decision to sunset them.
they are tax payer funded ObamaCare subsidies for the more well-to-do.
"2. it’s name calling and doesn’t add to the discussion."
It’s name calling and is used to shut down discussion.
You can't talk about *that* (see: The N-word).
Europe focuses in their sphere, we do in ours
“Seems to fit with Althouse's recent suggestion that Trump is aligning with racism wherever it can be found.”
Because it resonates with his base. He can’t afford to lose anymore of them.
Mason G @ 2:55. The right has been accusing the left of overplaying racism for years. Why? Because the more they can make everything racist, the easier it is for them to downplay real racism.
Achillies @ 2:03, while Trump’s attacks on MTG may be, as you say, dumb, why is it that the physical threats to her and her family from those attacks aren’t, as you often say of fabricated left wing attacks, trying to get her murdered?
Anyone notice Trump gave himself an A++++++++ grade on the economy after his policies has it spiraling down the toilet. And he blames an inherited mess from Biden while he himself left Biden one of the worst economies in history.
Americans aren’t falling for Trump’s gaslighting on affordability. We have eyes that see the prices at the grocery store and so does Trump’s base, until things get bad enough though, they will fall for his gaslighting.
Of course they lie, thats why we have to go to samizdat sources
Like on substack and certain x accounts
The Race Card™ is worthless now but that doesn't stop the Left and the Useful Idiots here from playing it.
I agree with much of what Trump does, and voted for him very happily, but even reading that is painful. He's a bit hard to take at times.
Oriana Fallaci is lucky she died when she did. She did not have to see her writing come true and she did not have to die in jail for her writing.

The leftists threatening MTG don’t listen to Trump that is all you leftist shitheads.
The racism charge is bullshit. Look at which countries and cultures add value to a society and import them. It just happens that many so called black and brown countries are net drains on society.
That’s kinda what I said Marcus, the right wing playbook has demanded that the left has made everything racist- you can’t say Oreo or watermelon because the left says it’s racist, you can’t invoke Colonel Sanders because the left will call you a racist.
This way, when we have a president that does really racists things and Republican and supporters endorse those really racist things, you can pretend the left is just crying wolf again.
She was a very wise woman, so is baat yeor
Achillies, I don’t think it’s the left threatening MTG. But if you’re in denial of the MAGA meltdown and eating their own, oh well.

It was less than a year ago that this retard was pretending there was no inflation under Joe Biden.
Now that Trump hasn’t lowered prices that skyrocketed under Biden she has thoughts.
Really fucking stupid thoughts.
Shes just a vicious liar about everything

I am not too concerned about how stupid you are.
The main concern MAGA has with Trump is not enough people have been deported and not enough democrat traitors are in jail.
Not sure how that helps you out.
Americans aren’t falling for Trump’s gaslighting on affordability.
Yet, Igna has fallen for every single Dem gaslighting hoax.
Imagine that.
it appears that Europe's besetting sin is not excluding immigrants from black and brown countries.
Islam isn't a race, Stephen.
"Black and brown" countries?
Who identifies countries that way, anyway? People who call others 'racists', that's who.
I wonder how long the left will continue to scream about 'affordability' as the price of gas continues to drop and things become ... more affordable?
Achilles says: “ The main concern MAGA has with Trump is not enough people have been deported and not enough democrat traitors are in jail.”
I can’t say I disagree with that. Actually, you’re all over it. Yes, the Basket has been groomed to hate Democrats. Yes, the Basket has been groomed to despise outsiders here legally or not, particularly those who don’t look like them.
But there’s one thing the Basket, like most Americans demand, is a good economy and cheep groceries. And you can’t get every Somalia and Mexican looking “garbage” out without those groceries rotting on the vine (metaphorically speaking), driving up prices while picking up the tab from the tariff tax hike.
MAGA wants the best of both of both worlds that Trump has promised and telling them will happen. Their wallets call bullshit.
The great Oriana Fallaci. We could use her voice today.
Who's gaslighting who, Inga?

It would be nice if inflation was less than 3 percent. But 3 percent is hardly a "crisis." 6-10% on the other hand, is a crisis.
Dehumanizing human beings by calling them baskets. Bizarre.
Just bought a tank of gas, here is eastern MD. $2.79 gallon.
It is apparently an illusion inspired by my hatred and cultism that I believe that the price of gas is considerably less than it was during the Biden Administration. Also that I believe that grocery prices are not rising at an outrageous pace.
I do seem to recall that the prices of just about everything, along with rents, home prices and mortgage rates, were rising uncontrollably during the specific period when the people now claiming to be concerned about "affordability" were running things.
But that's just because I'm a cultist and a hater.
What you’re describing boatbuilder, isn’t cultism or hatred, it’s willful ignorance.
Pretty clear at this point that Rubio should be fired.

So now that Trump is President, historically normal levels of inflation are bad.
But double digit inflation under Biden was OK.
Willful ignorance indeed.
Thanks for clarifying, Chuck.
Am I ignoring what happened with gas and grocery prices under Biden?
Am I ignoring what I just paid for gas about 2 hours ago?
Enlighten me.
Why fire Rubio? He’s my favorite
the right wing playbook has demanded that the left has made everything racist- you can’t say Oreo or watermelon because the left says it’s racist, you can’t invoke Colonel Sanders because the left will call you a racist...you can't point out that the Somali "community" has been robbing the treasury blind, you can't oppose the massive influx of illegal migrants over the past 4 years, you can't note that the violent crime rates in "urban" blue cities are excessive even by third-world standards...
And this was all accomplished according to a plan by "the right wing".
Now that's a conspiracy theory!
The same people that scream "Racist"! at every opportunity don't like having that pointed out?
What a surprise.

He is the reason we are still sending money to Ukraine.
What’s being ignored is the state of the economy when Trump 45 left office, how Biden turned that around, and how Trump is again crashing it.
Midterm electioneering is starting up, in the Legacy Media. Today, I read a WSJ article that is solemnly noting that 'prices aren't coming down, and inflation continues'. OK, then. Quick, someone tell me: When was the last time prices 'came down' on consumer goods - i.e., when was the last time the USA was in an overall deflationary economy?
In my limited memory, never. We've never seen prices come down - and we've never seen inflation -stop- . It just moderates, which is what I see it doing now, at something less than 3%. Anybody else have a different take? Did I miss a deflationary event in the past 70 years?
Trump never promised that 2020 prices were coming back. Last week he twice pointed out that economists say you need to have 1% inflation minimum (to prevent a deflation spiral due to nobody buying while waiting for prices to further drop). What Biden and the Democrat voters did to this country in 21/22, bringing back double digit inflation that had been dead for 40 years, is a PERMANENT down shifting of American wealth. What Trump can do to eat into Biden's 'inflation that will go away all by itself' is grow wages. That's it. If you're retired Biden and his voters picked your pocket.
…and nobody wants a deflationary spiral. That would be bad. Money isn’t your biggest problem bad…
…yah there’s much spaghetti regression analysis going on, seeing what might stick to Trump. Done now cause will all tje duds are forgotten after the new year..:
Europe is f*cking itself.. there is nothing Trump can do for it... instead he focuses on the USA and wants to make this country the strongest and greatest nation on earth... and I 100% agree with him.
To hell with Europe.. USA USA USA.
Evidently, Miami didn’t think they were doing all that A+++++.
The 15-point swing from Republicans to Democrats in pretty much every election since Trump took office means Democrats will pick up about 43 seats in the House if the trend holds through the midterm elections, giving them a comfortable majority.
Lots of House Republicans have seen the blue wave coming and are blaming Republican leadership. Expect the in-fighting to worsen in the lead up to next year’s midterm elections.
I watched the interview. She asked adversarial questions but in a respectful way. It didn't hurt that she's beautiful. If Alfred Hitchcock were alive today, he'd be looking to cast her for his next movie. She's the ne plus ultra of cool blondes.
