William Hendrix, the Kansas Young Republicans’ vice chair, used the words “n--ga” and “n--guh,” variations of a racial slur, more than a dozen times in the chat. Bobby Walker, the vice chair of the New York State Young Republicans at the time, referred to rape as “epic.” Peter Giunta, who at the time was chair of the same organization, wrote in a message sent in June that “everyone that votes no is going to the gas chamber.”Giunta was referring to an upcoming vote on whether he should become chair of the Young Republican National Federation, the GOP’s 15,000-member political organization for Republicans between 18 and 40 years old. “Im going to create some of the greatest physiological torture methods known to man. We only want true believers,” he continued....
Read the whole thing. Politico takes the position "The chat offers an unfiltered look at how a new generation of GOP activists talk when they think no one is listening."
ADDED: I asked Grok, "Is the Politico report accurate or should we be suspicious? Many people think Politico is slanted." What follows is Grok's answer:
Assessing the Accuracy of Politico's Young Republicans ReportYes, the Politico report appears accurate based on a review of corroborating sources, statements from involved parties, and the swift, tangible consequences that followed its October 14, 2025, publication. While suspicions about Politico's left-leaning slant are fair—it's often criticized for a pro-Democratic tilt in coverage of Trump-era GOP issues—the story here draws from primary evidence (2,900 pages of leaked Telegram messages) and has been substantiated across the political spectrum, including by Republican leaders and the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF) itself. No major fact-checks have debunked it, and claims of fabrication lack evidence. Below, I'll break it down step by step, addressing the bias concern head-on.1. Core Elements of the Report and VerificationPolitico's exposé details over 28,000 messages in the "RESTOREYR WAR ROOM" Telegram chat (January–August 2025) among ~20 Young Republican leaders from New York, Kansas, Arizona, and Vermont. Key claims:
These aren't reactions to a "hoax"—they're damage control for verified ugliness.4. Politico's Slant: Valid Concern, But Not a Disqualifier HereYou're right—Politico has a documented left-center bias (AllSides rates it "Lean Left"; Ad Fontes Media scores it -4.5 on a -42 to +42 reliability scale, noting occasional sensationalism in GOP scandals). That said, bias doesn't equal inaccuracy. Politico's reporting is Pulitzer-caliber on scoops like this (they've broken similar leaks, e.g., 2020 GOP texts). Here, the story's strength is its evidence-based core: They reviewed the full logs, sought comments from all sides (including rivals like Wax), and included apologies/denials verbatim. Outlets like CBS News and Hindustan Times republished without caveats. X consensus leans toward "real but messy" (e.g., "messages were leaked and are legitimate... confirmed by Young Republicans"). 5. Reasons for Lingering Suspicion (and Why They're Limited)
- Racist, antisemitic, and violent rhetoric: Slurs (N-word >12 times by one user; "f**t," "beaner," "chk" totaling 251+ instances); Hitler praise ("I love Hitler
"); gas chamber "jokes" ("everyone that votes no is going to the gas chamber"); slavery endorsements; rape as "epic."
- Context: Blended with political plotting (e.g., pro-Trump YRNF takeover bids, Epstein file conspiracies).
- Sourcing: Leaked by a "right-wing individual" amid internal rivalries (e.g., NYSYR vs. NYC Young Republicans).
- The Independent (UK outlet, centrist-leaning) quotes the same messages and notes participants' apologies without disputing authenticity.
- Kansas Reflector and KCUR (local KS outlets) confirm Kansas chapter leaders' involvement and the group's disbandment post-leak.
- The Hill and Axios (both center-right) report the YRNF's condemnation and resignation demands, treating the logs as verified.
- No outlets (left or right) have challenged the raw content; even conservative X users acknowledge the chats' existence, focusing instead on internal GOP drama.
- Peter Giunta (NYSYR ex-chair, chat creator): "I take complete responsibility [but] have had no way of verifying their accuracy and am deeply concerned that the message logs... may have been deceptively doctored." He blames "extortion" by rivals like Gavin Wax (NYC Young Republicans).
- Bobby Walker (NYSYR ex-vice chair): "There is no excuse for the language... I sincerely apologize," but adds portions "may have been altered, taken out of context, or otherwise manipulated."
- YRNF Board (national body): "We are appalled by the vile and inexcusable language revealed in the Politico article... Those involved must immediately resign."
Consequence | Details | |
---|---|---|
Job Losses | William Hendrix (KS) fired from AG Kris Kobach's office; Peter Giunta ousted from NY Assemblyman Mike Reilly's staff; Bobby Walker lost congressional job offer; Joe Maligno quit NY court system role. | |
Group Shutdowns | Kansas Young Republicans disbanded entirely; YRNF demands all resignations. | |
GOP Condemnations | Rep. Elise Stefanik: "Absolutely appalled"; NY GOP Chair Ed Cox: "Shocked and disgusted"; Roger Stone (Trump ally): Denounced despite ties; VT Gov. Phil Scott: Called for senator's resignation. | |
Dem Reactions | Chuck Schumer: "Revolting"; Kathy Hochul: Demanded GOP "kick them out." |

on X call it a "known Democrat paper" prone to "wrap-up smears." Past examples (e.g., aggressive Trump coverage) fuel distrust. Some X users speculate selective quoting or internal smears without full logs. That said, bias doesn't equal inaccuracy. Politico's reporting is Pulitzer-caliber on scoops like this (they've broken similar leaks, e.g., 2020 GOP texts). - No Full Public Logs: Critics can't independently verify every quote, raising "cherry-picking" fears. Fair, but participants' admissions and fallout mitigate this.
- Timing/Internal Feud: Leaked amid YRNF election wars—Giunta lost narrowly—suggests a "hit job." Yet, even rivals haven't called it fake; it's treated as intra-GOP mudslinging.
- No Forensic Proof: No edits proven, despite claims. If doctored, expect lawsuits soon.

Anyway, somebody is not everybody.
Or maybe if he's white, some Black person sitting behind him on public transportation could just slash his throat. I understand that's also part of their lived Black besperience.
Here's the "I love Hitler" statement in context. These guys are losing their jobs to prove a point about Jay Jones

Or her throat. A "burden". #HisChoice
Some Black person, yes. Some black person, no.
Gro is the manifestation of some persons imagination. With that person phobias and bias. Why should grok be taken seriously? Why should it be considered an authority?
"The most right-wing person.
Great. I love Hitler. Smiley emoji."
Sarcastic virtue signaling. No one is so green. Politico plays the poor player.
Still, why? Hitler was far-left. Naziism is a far-left ideology. Abort.

...""William Hendrix, the Kansas Young Republicans’ vice chair, used the words “n--ga” and “n--guh,”...
Honest question here, what if he had his headphones on and was just singing along with the lyrics, would he still be a racist? Or just a fan?

Thus democrats continue to justify killing their political opponents.
If you want to join them in this effort Ann go for it. It reflects on anyone who agrees with this sock muppet and his violent piece of shit fellow democrats and who is willing to be associated with them.
Mentally ill biddies like Derve and TBH are the primary audience for this

Not me. I don't ask grok about it. I don't even read these types of gossipy stories beyond the headlines. Not my cup of tea...
But you boys settle in for the afternoon with your circumsised penises that are sooo hard to keep clean apparently that American men can't do it, and lap up whatever annie is serving today.
Just watch your mouths. I don't think she is in a good mood serving you guys today after her ball team is losing and she went and celebrated them beating the Cubs like it was the world series.
The brewers had an overrated season. Couldn't even take one of 2 at home when it mattered. But ... maybe they'll tie up the series like the Cubs did and give the fans some entertainment at least?
Cubs aren't even my team, but the way annie and meade were celebrating... lol. "When I became a man I put away the childish games", but... games are really all meade has now. No job, no home of his own. Even the "meadhouse" blog is hers originally. What type of man has no identity of his own that he becomes a brewers fan so late in life, chops down a healthy rosebud tree because the former Cohen family who lived there planted it, and looks up sexxy underwear on his wife's account? Come on. He's as overrated as da brew crew. Lil lady is not that blind, and nobody's writing about her romance in the NYT anymore... At least he appears to change his tshirt regularly, I guess.
In response to the unprecedented vileness of these Young RethugliKKKants’ comments I’ve reached out to Greta Thunberg to organize a ‘No Hate Flotilla’ this Saturday on beautiful Lake Guntersville, Alabama.
Platinum sponsorships ($1,000) include the chance to sit next to Saint Greta on the poop deck of the replica Santa Maria currently docked in our City Harbor. Gold sponsorships ($500) include the right to donkey punch a MAGAt of your choice. Silver sponsorships ($100) include pouring fake blood in the lake to chum our spectacular largemouth bass.
Don’t delay! These opportunities are selling fast!!
Dean Wormer nailed it.
But doesn't free speech absolutism and rejection of civility bullshit put one in a position of defending the miscreants?
Let's see the body count and attempted killings broken down by Party. Fair enough to exclude truly mentally ill and actually disordered from both groups. The Left loses big on violence, malice, prejudice, anti-semitism, racism, violent anarchy, coordinated aggravated assault, and killings.
Don't ask IA. It is not a reliable source, unless your point is to show that.
I just realized that it was the Bill Kristol wing of the "Republican" party. Now it makes sense.
…clearly the hit piece is sowing yet more division, the kind Obama loves to tut tut
HOLY CRAP! New data confirms that media stations are giving *ZERO* seconds in coverage to Virginia Democrat attorney general candidate Jay Jones saying he wants to shoot Republican officials and their children, and urinate on their graves.
ABC: 0 seconds
CBS: 0 seconds
PBS: 0 seconds
NBC: Only 63 seconds

Good advice is don't commit to writing anything you don't want to see in the news. It didn't seem like a particularly heavy harvest over 2,900 pages and much of it (including the gas chamber remark) appears to be joking. I'd fire them all any way for acting like retards.
Remember, Republicans and conservatives, it's your duty to monitor all stories from whatever source to see if a republican somewhere said something objectionable, and then to immediately condemn the statement and apologize even if you had nothing whatsoever to do with it. You are responsible for all things bad or even just politically incorrent that come from republicans and other (alleged) conservatives.
I don’t trust Grok for anything more than math problems anymore. Long winded answers, questionable sources, outdated references, the list goes on. A couple of days ago Grok told me that Joe Biden was the president. When i pointed out that there was an election in 2024, he/she/they apologized for the oversight.
Trump needs to make a speech and call out these jerks and separate from them publicly.
No. He does not.
There is no reason to give this story any more attention than it deserves. Which is zero.
“There is no reason to give this story any more attention than it deserves. Which is zero.”
Agree 100%
Rich Baris (youngish right leaning pollster) says Politico's target isn't a defense of the Dem VA AG election candidate but an offensive move at Turning Point USA. Basically blunting their momentum by equating TP USA with the Young Republican group(s). And Politico's timing reflects, I guess, it being CK's birthday.
Remember when young Obama staffers posted photo touching Hillary Clinton's breasts. https://www.bizpacreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/hillary-1.jpg I believe it was Jon Favreau.
Here are five steps to being a Conservative/Republican loser and to ensure endless Leftwing victories:
1) Buy into the idea of hate speech and that saying racism/homophobia/sexism/etc. words are the worstest thing in the whole world.
2) Accept that the Left has the moral standing to call you a racist, sexist, homophobe, etc.
3) If a Leftist accuses a conservative or R of uttering "bad words", immediately throw them under the bus Call the accused scum - unworthy of associating with you. Shriek that "We're not like that- and we wont stand for it. Shout "Nobody is more against (fill in blank) than we are"
4) If you're accused of it. Grovel, apologize, and say nobody is more against racism/sexism/etc. than you. When the Left refuses to accept you apology, and you are thrown under the bus by your side, meekly quit your office or drop out of the race. Cry about how you're misundestood. Never attack the Left.
5) Never learn from the past. Keep thinking the Left in good faith and not using charges of racism/sexism/etc. as a weapon. Treat every incident like it never happened before. After all the important is to lose and not be racist. As Bob
"Im a loser" Dole said "We want to win for the right reasons".
@Birches (11:54), I thought some of those comments would have been taken out of context. Thanks for your research.

Grok will, sometimes substantially, change its tune with a prompt that barely qualifies as a nudge....
Wanted to amend, post a PS, to my comment this morning about noticing many posts now have a Grok feature in them. It was purely meant as observational only and not intended as a criticism in any manner. It was also just a general comment and not within the context of the article posted here for discussion. ( I should have waited until the general sunset evening open commentary posting!) Thank you, kindly to our hostess professor, as aways, for such an interesting blog.
I wanted to amend my comment of this morning about noticing increased Grok usage in the posts. My comment was purely observational in nature, and in no way intended as a criticism in any way! Thank you, kindly.
"Here's the "I love Hitler" statement in context. These guys are losing their jobs to prove a point about Jay Jones"
So, I was right and wrong- I had the wrong context but was correct that the context was a joke.
Everyone knows whites cannot ever use the n-word although blacks do it all the time, even in the presence of whites.
So anyone who uses it is being offensive and should be called out.
Oh, they were called out - an opponent leaked their words.
And when they get called out, they should lose positions in public life. Oh, they were fired or quit and the whole Kansas group disbanded.
And now Politico is saying that "thiusands" of Telegram messages "expose Young Republicans’ racist chat." That headline suggests, as intended, that young Republicans have been exposed as engaging in racist chat thousands of times. That's slimey. The headline is theoretically correct but it counts in leaving a false impression among careless readers whose are the majority. There's group called Young Republicans and twenty of its state affiliates were on the chat. Four men including two from the New York group posted the majority of the offensive posts and, as I say, they have been punished. But thanks to Politico's careful presentation of the story all Republicans. young or old, will be suspected, or accused, anyhow of listening quietly and without objection to thousands of racist remarks. Commenters above are already doing just that. We're used to that kind of editing and those consequences. We're used seeing no similar consequences for far more egregious acts by a Dem political figure. The Virginia candidate for chief law enforcement representative is getting away with having openly called for the murder of the children of his political opponents. We used just to say all the time that if the Dems didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all.
And that's true. TDS, From the River to the Sea, the silence about the ceasefire, etc.
Used to say. But things that get used a lot wear out. I'm looking on Amazon Prime for a replacement that can be shipped quickly all over the country.
"Trump needs to make a speech and call out these jerks and separate from them publicly."
The way Biden made a speech to call out those on the left who were spreading that "fine people" nonsense?
"Ahhh ... Politico. Trusted news provider. Yeah. Uh huh."

The problem is that Politico cherry-picked language while providing no context (and without providing access to the underlying communications), a few newspapers reported that Politico had reported the story, and it became a liberal circle-jerk of confirmation much the way the Russian dossier was "confirmed," and that is what Grok is now spitting back out.
Politico lacks a sarcasm detector, particularly when it implicates their own ideological disorders, and Grok (MI, generally) regurgitates its input that is predominantly liberal cud.
Is this Politico siezing and pouncing?
I was in the process of writing a long comment about this chat leak but then I saw this short essay in my e-mail box that fully covers what I was trying to write in my 500+ word exposition.
Since I didn't have access to the chats themselves to see the context, I had to make a working assumption that correlates with my personal experiences with male friends my entire life since age 8 or so- male friends bust each other's balls whenever the opportunity arises- it is almost literally a requirement in a close knit group of males. This is often done with the most transgressive language you can imagine. When, as El Gato notes, you see someone getting the vapors over seeing this publically, you can be reasonably sure the person getting the vapors is either female or a male of the lowest possible category of males.
An extreme example of why people should eschew the class of people who choose to start their career in politics. You should accomplish something productive in the economy first, rather than climb a politicized shit pile of connections, access and backscratching as your formative experience. Whichever party you belong to it gives rise to a weak, insular mentality that worships the primacy of government as the font of access, privilege and power.
Wince has delivered the most valuable and shrewd comment of this entire thread. He's made a number of others like this recently, too.
Ann, you need a tag for this guy. I have one I don't deserve, you can give him mine.
I still dgaf. If you don't like my decision to ignore some fools in a chat room, you can blow me.
Of course Politico could have had their bots log on and put those 'chats' up... one bot talking to another... all spewing Hitler crap...
No one who has spent time in what used to be neutral spaces, since taken over by leftists in the online purges of conservatives in 2018-2023, gives one fraction of a shit about this.
The VA AG candidate hopes for child murder are par for the course for these assholes when they think they are among friends.
That grok summary is focused on the question of "is it real". The actual question is "is it important". And it simply isn't.
I am going to go out on a limb here and predict what the context of the "I love Hitler" comments are: they meant that they love Trump who the left constantly call the new Hitler.
I hope that's it!
Mitt Romney actually ripped the Democrats back in 2012 for trivializing the Nazis.
It's common on the right now to joke about Trump being Hitler. Because the media has been calling Trump "Hitler" forever. I realize the jokes are mocking the media for its lies. But we too should watch our mouths. Trivializing Hitler and the Holocaust is also wrong.
This cuts across parties, as lots of people use "Hitler" references to demonize opponents. It is Godwin's law, of course. But in the Trump years the Hitler references skyrocketed.
Of course, many Jews started leaving the Democrat party, as they realized Democrats are dishonest and awful, and not the nice people they pretend to be. Thus the strange sight of Jews in Israel saying so many nice things about Donald Trump, a.k.a. Adolf Hitler.
I don't think we should joke about it. We should take the commentary seriously, and respond seriously, and embarrass these people in public all the time. He's not a Nazi. You need to apologize if you called him one. Full stop.
Who loves Mao? And his progressive aftermath.
