What's he up to? Gonna need a pardon for something, or infected with honesty?

Who would’ve thought Mr. Fetterman would become the eloquent statesman and conscience (if they had one) of the Democrat Party?

doctrev said...

You know things are going very badly for globalism when Democrats have to acknowledge President Trump bringing peace to the Middle East.

Achilles said...

Hopefully someone like him can resurrect the democrat party after it commits ritual seppeku and we ship the insurrectionists to China.

Tony Blair (?!) is going to have more legitimacy as the governor of Gaza than Keir Starmer has as the most unpopular British prime minister ever. Figure THAT out. All thanks to President Trump!

We'll see.

I would hope so, but I've seen this movie before.

I know how good I feel as a Trump voter.
I know how much some people hate the man.
I know how much Trump successes hurt them.
Knowing that the difference in those mindsets today is a choice is educational.

Who had Fetterman as Lion of the Senate on their card?

Yes, I know he's still a reliable Democrat. But he's one who can acknowledge when the other side does something positive. Apparently the only one.

My husband told me about AOC's ham-fisted attempt to channel Trump's insult-comic nature by saying that, for instance, Democrats should mock Stephen Miller as "short" and point out that their policy wonks are, like, 6'3". The Young Turks had fun with that. But even so, they didn't get how Trump does his thing: yes, he picks out a characteristic of his opponent, and yes, sometimes it's an immutable one (was it "Little Marco Rubio"?) though more often it reflects something they've done ("Crooked Hillary"). But then he focuses on the issue of the moment.

AOC, on the other hand, flails around for an immutable (and group) characteristic, such as Miller's height, and focuses on that as if it has the slightest bit to do with the policy or issue at hand, succeeding only in insulting everyone else who shares that characteristic, which is what Cenk of TYT pointed out. So he got what was wrong with it but couldn't figure out why Trump's insults have staying power. AOC, for her part, apparently understands that mockery would be more effective against Trump and his minions than hair-on-fire alarmism, but she doesn't understand that the insults are incidental, not integral, to what he says about people.

I think it's because the "elite" left are so invested in identity groups that they can't escape that framing even when they intuit that they need to.

Hey.. you hear what Obama said about it.. he said everyone should be 'encouraged and relieved'... I am sure he pondered long to come up with that statement.

A better man with Trump in the left seat. Here's to ending another war., a progressive conflict, and catastrophic anthropogenic climate change.

"Why didn't Biden and his Secretary of State ever accomplish anything in the Middle East?"

Or Obama and his SoS with two terms.

1st term Trump ends Isis and gets the Abraham accords.
2nd term Trump ends Iran's nuclear threat and now this in 8 months.
Pretty stark contrast between Hitler and the Nobel Prize laureate.

"Anti-Israel lawmakers offer only grudging acknowledgment of hostage end"

Obama neglected to mention Trump or give Trump any credit whatsoever in his X post noting the historic ceasefire:

After two years of unimaginable loss and suffering for Israeli families and the people of Gaza, we should all be encouraged and relieved that an end to the conflict is within sight; that those hostages still being held will be reunited with their families; and that vital aid can start reaching those inside Gaza whose lives have been shattered. More than that, though, it now
falls on Israelis and Palestinians, with the support of the U.S. and the entire world community, to begin the hard task of rebuilding Gaza – and to commit to a process that, by recognizing the common humanity and basic rights of both peoples, can achieve a lasting peace.

I am not a "sir", Spanish honorifics dont work like that, they have always been more plebian, in form, than the British or the French. Most Spaniards, for one thing, are descendants of the very broad based gentry that were the hidalgos. It is not rare or strange or even notable. Sort of like the Poles in that way.

Maybe Biden should have acted sooner, you know, before the 40,000 you are so concerned about. Or maybe other leaders could have done something, or maybe The Palestinians could have just given those hostages back. Someone had to care, Good thing Trump did. What did you do?

2 million Gazans, I in 10 dead would be 200,000 dead. But Hamas has counted 67,000. Not that I accept its counting since the supposed dead frequently have no name and no place where the person supposedly died. But still, Hamas isn't saying 200,000. It's just the AP being the AP.

Howard said...

The 1/10 Gazans are the total casualties 67K dead and 170K wounded

James K said...

"67K dead and 170K wounded"

Except that those numbers are entirely made up by Hamas, along with TBH's "40,000 children." People believe what they want to believe.

bagoh20 said...

All casualties are the fault of Hamas who started a war by killing innocent unarmed people in the most barbaric ways, and then hiding behind their own people when the inevitable reprisals came . They new what they were doing, and they knew it would result in this, so why is it somehow anyone else's fault?

bagoh20 said...

When you see what a vigorous alert President with a good team can do, you can see what an absolute crime it would have been to elect Kamala and what a crime it was to elect Biden. they were just small dirty politicians and could only do small, dirty, petty deeds. But look at the effect of the Trump doctrine (which is: these two have been fighting each other so long and so hard they no longer know what the fuck they are doing.) So instead of saying, "it's hopeless," Trump and his team go around gathering ideas from various interested parties. That's an obvious move but one which the two fighters and their blind supporters cannot think of or do in their exhaustion.
And look - in the Hostage Square and in Gaza "Their tears have turned into dancing."

Note to Hamasidols and sympathizers: murder, rape-rape, rape, torture-torture, and abduction are investments with large casualties in return. #HateLovesAbortion

It must drive the left even more insane to witness the object of their vicious hatred - not only trying to make the world a better place by bringing peace - but actually pulling it off.

Achilles runs a bit too hot for my taste, but when he calls you evil people? He's not wrong.

Now, will it hold? Maybe. Maybe not.
But I can guarantee you'll be crowing if it doesn't.

Maybe that should give you pause.

Does it seem to anyone else that the same people that had been bitching about not having a cease fire for two year are now, after a ten minute pause, bitching about having a cease fire?

A more cynical person might reflect on that and start wondering about their actual motives and opinions. And by wondering, I mean accept the confirmation of what was already known.
