It's a shame that Trump commuted the federal felony sentence of former Republican US Rep. George Santos. Now all of his federal felony convicts won't be able to enjoy his daily drag queen shows. Well, I guess he can always perform them as Trump's guest at Mar-a- Lago.
Iowa smoked Wisconsin last Saturday 37-0 in collegiate football. Ohio State smoked Wisconsin today 34-0. Wisconsin used to be a Big Ten Powerhouse. But no more. I blame it all on their beer and cheese curds.

If the Federal Government is shut down, what happens to all the Federal judges lusting after rendering decisions on their injunctions? Do they still get filed, and do the courts still hear them? Do the outstanding appeals still progress?
"lonejustice said... Wisconsin used to be a Big Ten Powerhouse."
LOL, no. They had a few competive years, but never a powerhouse. Badger fans think it's a successful year if they make the Bluebonnet Butter Bowl and they can go somewhere warm to watch them.

We may be about to find out. I've seen headlines today that the Supreme Court, and I believe the lower courts, will be throttling down because of lack of funds. Seems to me that means Trump can do whatever he wants. He'll be King for a Day!

There is a pretty darn good essay making the rounds, on Feminization.
I'm sure some here have already read it.
..."It’s sad that English departments are all feminized now, but most people’s daily lives are unaffected by it. Other fields matter more. You might not be a journalist, but you live in a country where what gets written in The New York Times determines what is publicly accepted as the truth. If the Times becomes a place where in-group consensus can suppress unpopular facts (more so than it already does), that affects every citizen.
The field that frightens me most is the law......"
Feminization isn't the problem. Its leftism. And always has been. The English Departments have been crap for a long time. The barbarians were let inside the gates along time ago.
"My comments have been deleted. I feel really bad about that. I have been a fan, and daily reader, for 8 years."
Sometimes Google deletes them as "spam" although a lot of the. time, point of view seems to come into it, but then Althouse usually clears the spam filter and restores them.
Today Don Lemon publicly advised “black and brown people” to legally acquire firearms so thst if an ICE agent knocks in their doors they can shoot them. It would be great if lefties would drop the violent rhetoric, but absent a serious jail term (away from cameras and microphones!) for Lemon and others trying the “let’s you and him fight to the death” ideation I don’t think today’s talking heads are going to stop.
"There is a pretty darn good essay making the rounds, on Feminization."
From the essay:
"Women can sue their bosses for running a workplace that feels like a fraternity house, but men can’t sue when their workplace feels like a Montessori kindergarten."
Lonejustice is what you get when someone spends two years predicting politics and literally gets every single prediction wrong. The bitterness results in ridiculously lame attempts at mockery. A person with more self-respect would have either admitted he got it all it wrong and apologize or simply slink away and never comment again.
Women don't innovate or lead. They manage and follow. Of course, I'm generalizing. I shouldn't have to say that, but hey..its the internet.
There have been great, or least very good, women artists and writers. But they have never created new art forms or start new schools of thought. They can be CEO's but rarely start new companies. They follow rules and enforce them, but they don't create the rules. When the chips are down, no one -even women - wants to follow a women leader.
So its absurd to blame them for the current state of the world or the colleges. Or whatever. Why are women a majority in this or that College area of study? I dunno. You tell me. And evidently, men aren't too upset about it. Which indicates, that no really cares and its not an important area of power, status, or wealth.
My suspicision (sic) is that people don't want to fight the real cause of our current problems. Is it Leftism, or something else? Anyway, its not women. That's just a dodge.
I can tell you from personal experience, the phenomenon is real. I've always been an operations person, project oriented, results oriented, running 24 hour operations sometimes spending $1 million per day, toward the end of my career. When you meet with an executive team in a boardroom to discuss a problem, the women executives want cooperation and demand that their opinions are heard, even when they lack the slightest clue of any technical insight that might be an actual contribution. They really don't want to solve problems - they just want to be heard. It's like that old comical video skit of the woman with a nail in her head. I finally hit on the gentle solution of getting the problems fixed ahead of time, because it was easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission. I think it only became really clear to them when we once had a medical emergency evacuation from an offshore construction vessel that was working for us. About 5 of us (men) got together, organized a chopper, a medical team, and an ambulance and had it all rolling in about 20 minutes, pilot on the way at 1 am. By the time of that morning meeting, the appendix was already being taken out, and the executives didn't really know why they were getting calls from the contracting company thanking them.

In my perfect world, Eric Lu would get NIL money in the high six figures.

You mean back when the TV post game shows featured Fordham, Colgate and Citadel?

Since Diane Keaton just died, here is a Youtube video with all her appearances on Charlie Rose:
