I woke last night to the sound of thunder How far off I sat and wondered Started humming a song from 1962 Ain't it funny how the night moves When you just don't seem to have as much to lose Strange how the night moves With autumn closin' in
We're getting some cooler mornings, days when I can't decide to run or go to the pool. Surprisingly the hummingbirds are still here. Late departure this year...
The lazy crabapple tree in my front yard is already packing it in for the year. “Enough with the photosynthesizing already. I’m going to take a six month nap.” Glorious when it blooms in the spring, though.
Too dry here. I don't think I've watered the lawn since we moved here in '06, but may have to now. I keep telling myself that drought just makes the roots go deeper . . .

It is Fall in America.
September is by far the best month to be in Wisconsin.
A bit cooler here in Florida. Only 85 today.
Come to me - you crisp, brisk morning scented in pumpkin spice and sun kissed football anticipation. I am ready.
Oh, it's a long, long while
From May to December
But the days grow short
When you reach September
Lovely. Thank you.
Autumn flow through a river green.

Now that I live in the desert, I greatly look forward to the end of September and the many months of wonderful weather to come.

Finally under 90F today in northern AZ. Half an hour up the hill and I'll be hiking in the high 50s very soon.

Also too hot, but with low humidity.
The first turn of autumn is soybeans.
