Lazarus said...: Macho priest guys made me think of Spencer Tracy. I grew up hearing that Spencer Tracy never married Kate Hepburn because he was a Catholic and didn't believe in divorce. Now I find out that he wasn't that much of a Catholic, and his wife, and mother, and children were all Protestants, so I suspect there was no divorce because Kate was such a handful that Spencer didn't want to throw in with her and have no escape hatch. It would be like waking up every morning next to RFK Jr.

From his wink-wink-nudge-nudge and Trump's calling Bolton a "lowlife," the implication seems to be some kind of child sexual exploitation material. Watters said that when the affidavit and warrant are unsealed, you'll see how bad it really is.

Gospace said...: Something I've mentioned before- In the UK, the English, Irish, Scotch, and Welsh, can all tell whether someone is one of them- or someone different, at a glance. We here in the USA cannot do that because most of us, like me, are a blend of all of them and then some.

I was reading today that in the the anti-immigrant protests in the UK- which to jog the memory means United Kingdom, the protesters are flying their national flags. Their national flags, not the flags of the UK. So the flags of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Though some in Northern Ireland may very be displaying the Irish flag...

The point being made in the article or post I was reading was- this does not bode well for the future of the United Kingdom remaining united. Their political subdivision all have a long history of separate identity. And war with each other, though they seemed to have smoothed that out in the last century.

Seems the same trouble is brewing in the EEC. The members all have their own national identity, and it isn't European. And some of the member countries are still coalitions of former countries with national identities...

In the USA we have, basically, one national identity. Indian tribes with their quasi-nation status? Nobody really gives a hoot. As far as I can tell, having travelled through many states, only Texans refer to themselves as Texans at times rather then Americans. No one here in New York when talking to someone from another country calls themselves New Yorkers, we're Americans. Texans, OTOH...

We're not having the same anti-immigrant protests here in the USA that Europe is having. Why? Because Trump is actually deporting troublemaking immigrants, which by definition, includes every one of them here unlawfully. If the globalist- Harris- had been elected, we'd be seeing the same protests here. Anyone doubt that?; 8/23/25, 10:32 PM
