"At all times, the teacher-student relationship between Mrs. Macron and President Macron remained within the bounds of the law. "

"But, when President Macron’s parents became aware of his strong feelings for his teacher, they decided to transfer him to Lycée Henri-IV in Paris. Mrs. Macron encouraged him to leave and was confident he would fall in love with a peer. Yet, before his departure, he told her, 'Whatever you do, I will marry you.'"

That's paragraph 27 of the lawsuit filed by Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron against Candace Owens — filed today in state court in Delaware.

For an article about the lawsuit, here's "French president sues Candace Owens over claims his wife is a man" (CNN).

That paragraph struck me because it put the relationship between the Macrons in a much more positive light than I'd ever seen.

If they wanted him to fall in love with a peer, they would have sent him to Eton or Harrow.

Good luck finding a judge who knows what a woman is.

Candace Owens has lost her mind.

Yeah. She's gone full nutbar the last couple years ... which is why Inga is now suddenly a fan.

Should doctors who perform abortions on transsexuals be arrested for fraud?

"Doctor, I haven't had a period in three months."

"That's normal. That's perfectly normal."

"I'm afraid I'm pregnant."

"I'm sure you're not."

"No, I'm pregnant. I'm bloating and I'm sick all the time. I want an abortion."

"It's really not necessary."

"Please! It's my body. It's my choice."

"Okay. Fine. Stay right here."

Doctor goes out of the room. He clicks the lights on and off 16 times. He comes back inside.

"Doctor! When you weren't here, the lights started flashing, on and off, on and off."

"Yes, that's our ultra-violet machine. You are no longer pregnant."

"Oh my goodness! That's amazing. I didn't feel a thing."

"That will be $900."

What a wierd world we live in when someone can be sued for mis-sexing someone.

Fortunately it is easy to prove. Just get a couple of doctors, agreed to by all, to look at her lady parts. The whole case should take no more than 5 minutes

I'll bet a dollar that there is a week or two of testimony about birth certificate and such and NO physical examination.

At the end, no matter the result, we will be as much in the dark as today.

Next do Mike Obama

It still doesn't make it less weird.

I admit I agree with Joe Bar @8:15. If, truly, they both controlled their apparently very very Fransh passions as long as necessary to join in a legal union, then good for them, but under those circumstances ya gotta just own the weird. I'm not saying don't enter a reciprocated but not consummated relationship with your teacher, and then eventually regularize your union - I'm just saying that you will forever be dealing with that story.

I also think the power dynamic is different because of their sexes. A female student, a male teacher - that's different, especially in a place like France where gender roles remain pretty compelling.

Supreme Court Justice KBJ can be appointed Special Master by the Delaware judge and let us know if Brigette is a woman.

FWIW - From The Telegraph a couple of weeks ago, it looks like Macron lost on appeal after winning a judgement against a couple of French women who made pretty much the same claims with the appeals court ruling that the statements were not defamation but "fell in line with good faith and free speech."
Guess they decided to go looking for a fresh target.

The Delaware law firm representing the Macrons is small, but first rate. Two retired federal judges and others. Big cases!

Doing discovery on Brigette would be worth the court filing fees.

That trial could easily go off the rails with presented evidence she’s making false claims…photos? a skirt over the head? ‘expert’ testimony?…and yes the justice system challenge of what a woman is. Oh, Macron…

I don't know DE local counsel, but lead firm in VA is boutique specializing in Defamation cases for plaintiffs, notably the Dominion case, which was also filed in DE. Assume forum selected as better than defendants' TN home, with DE incorporation of 2 entity defendants as hook. Looks like the Macrons are trying to put an end to story that non-parties in France have peddled for years and Candace Owen's seized on.

That leaves a lot to the imagination!

I suppose that the defense will be permitted to introduce lots of unflattering photos of Ms. Macron to establish that Owens wasn't just spitballing. Maybe not.
Also--does Michelle Obama have a cause of action?

Apparently Mrs. Macron has three children from a previous marriage. Maybe those of you wanting to inspect her body parts might explain how she could have children without a womb. Maybe defame her further by suggesting those aren’t her children?

Deep State Reformer said...

I hope Ms.Owen expressed what she said about the Macron's marriage as being her opinion or else has some factual basis for saying what she did bc the Sullivan v. NYT precedent is crumbling fast and she might end up getting the Alex Jones treatment and be bankrupted.

Emmanuel Macron a chanté:

I don't think you can put a positive spin on an adult woman, with a husband and kids, having a relationship with an underage teen. An appropriate response from her would have been to tell him this is a crush, I am married, and sever all contact.

DNA?

bagoh20 said...

I assume you people know that you can establish sex without undressing. I'd simply do a DNA test and be done with that question. I also think Owens has convinced herself she is right. Plus, it has been paying quite well so why challenge yourself.

The French are so... French.

Well, they are still married and she didn't get him to bump off her first husband, so there's that. And good on Emmanuel for staying committed to his first love and not callously and caddishly abandoning her.

But, still, wouldn't a wiser Brigitte have realized that continuing the affair would have been ridiculous and given it up? For homework, you can trace the theme of wise and unwise "Brigittes" through French literature and history. Extra credit for including Henry James and Edith Wharton.

And, yes, for whatever it's worth, she is not a man (if Maury Povich is still around he could put his DNA reveal shows to a whole new use --- "... and the test says ... you are NOT a man").
