Where hate seems to be going.

As perceived by Marianne Williamson, writing on X:
We seem to have gone from calling for justice for Palestinians - a call with which I wholeheartedly agree - to an absurd romanticization of a gigantic death cult. That cult is not just coming for the Jews. Those who continue yelling 'We’re not antisemites!!!' while at least passively joining Hamas in their call for our destruction are naively aligning with a movement that hates them too.

“Hate” needs to go back to where it came from. By whatever means necessary.

After the fall of the Ottoman empire, and after divestment of the British empire, there were still Jewish communities in the unincorporated territory of the Middle East, who organized and incorporated under the Israeli state. Justice for Jews.

Hate is a pathological emotion (e.g albinophobia).

Given the history of Palestine and the Palestinians, if I were a Palestinian, I would fear justice.

Jews make themselves targets by joining the oppression sweepstakes against the Palestinian oppression sweepstakes. Who's more oppressed is what the argument has settled out as, apparently permanently.

Non-Jews aren't really part of that, even if Islam is coming for them eventually too. A more sober mania than Jews have.

Nice line. I hope some of the younger lefties who don't know the history of the region can hear her.

Most people involved in the justice system don't want "justice," but rather "mercy."

After the fall of the Ottomans, there were many millions of non-Muslims in the Middle East, but the Muslims got 99% of the territory, with only a tiny sliver set aside for the Jews and nothing for anybody else.

The Muslims were outraged and immediately went to war. That is the essence of Islam--everything for them, nothing for anybody else.

How many terrorists were allowed into the country by the Biden administration? Millions of unvetted people brought into the country and dispersed throughout same.

If that isn’t the goddamnednest, most evil thing. The evil, despicable bastards responsible must be brought to justice.

Hate is not going anywhere. You can't get rid of it without love being a casualty. People just need a better outlet for their hate.

We should send Creeping Charlie starter kits to Gaza.

"naively aligning with a movement that hates them too" Not naively: knowingly, eagerly, deliberately. The lefty red-green alliance is a general hate cult, anti-American, anti-bourgeois, anti-Western, anti-nonprog, "not just coming for the Jews.". They are just the proximate canaries.

Typical leftwing nonsense. Isreal has turned Gaza into a pile of rubble and murdered 40,000 Palestinians. Almost all of them women, kids, and old men. If they got 4,000 hammas fighters I'd be surprised.

Now, they're starving the rest to death, and as you'd expect from a bunch of war criminals, are occupying the rest of Gaza. There is no "Hammas coming for the Jews". Its Jews massacring unarmed people in a manner that Hitler would approve of. We've gotten to the point where the destruction of Gaza and the Warsaw Ghetto are equal crimes.

Climate activist Greta Thunberg and a couple of Game of Thrones actors are heading for Gaza. These young women might get raped and murdered. Can they really be this delusional?

Remember the good old days when the Republicans and Bush I were idealists bringing democracy and liberalism to the Middle East?

rehajm said...

…used to be your pr firm would find an empathetic female to give a sober speech at a lectern as the opening shot in the war for hearts and minds, but then that was to justify force. There was also that bratty screaming girl but not even the most liberal tree hugging Americans would put up with that carp. The Davos cabal doesn’t really want to get to know us, do they?

RCOCEAN II said...

I'm so tired of the liberal/left and their fake moralism and phony "Love for peace and the underdog". They really are the most untrustworthy and amoral people. Crying big fat tears over some Ax murderer getting the death penalty, or "Poor George Floyd" while cheering on, or ignoring, genocide in Gaza. Or just as bad, sending money to Ukraine to "Kill Russkiees".

Oh, really? The Democratic candidate for President notices that Hamas is a death cult, well, then. Not to mention the 'absurd romanticization' of sterile transgenders, gay partners, rampant encouragement of abortion, Drag Queen Story Hour pedophilia campaigns, or the methodical attack on marriage institutions, demonization of normal people, eh? Yes, Marianne, that's what you would call it. Something that attacks procreation is a Death Cult.

Spiros said...

Rcocean II implies that the Israelis are committing genocide in Gaza. I disagree. This is total warfare where Hamas is fighting to the very last man and refuses to surrender.

At this point, I question if a Jewish state is even viable. It won't take much to see UN sanctions placed on Israel now.

The siege of Leningrad would no doubt be praised by the neocon types as well. The Nazis also had plans to starve the inhabitants out, then raze the city.

"Palestine" is/was "free", to govern itself even while still heavily subsidized by Israel and USA aid; Hamas disciples chose to invade the most progressive area of Israel in Oct 2023. American's understanding of factual history is too often sketchy, based on social media posts of other ill-informed folks, and too often based on progressive social media talking-points and peer pressure.

And no, American citizens, "green card" holders, and/or undocumented migrants have no moral basis to attack, much worse injure, other people to demonstrate their supposed moral support for "Palestinians" and "Free Palestine" political theater.

Women and children hardest hit. That old trope.

When I see earnest young people around campus with their Gaza Buttons of one sort or the other, I sometimes almost engage them and ask how they think their gay friends would fare in Gaza, vs. in Israel. But I know they don't want to ponder uncomfortable facts.

What would that look like, "justice for Palestinians?"

MW's answer is pretty broad and non-specific, as most people's would be.
At this point there needs to be an international consortium primarily by enlightened Arab leaders in partnership with an entirely new crop of Israeli leaders. Donald Trump could make a tremendous difference if he only would.

Killing enough, military, aged men To force the surrender of their military and disillusion of their tribe. Then have the women and children absorbed into the decent communities around them that can live in peace with everybody else.

Rcocean II implies that the Israelis are committing genocide in Gaza.

I'm not "implying it" I'm saying it quite clearly. They are killing men, women and children. The Israelis are denying food relief and have destroyed hospitals. The whole idea is to "ethnically Cleanse" Gaza and steal the land. Just like the Nazis wanted to wipe out the Polish Jews and steal their land. There's not a dime's worth of difference between the methods or the goals.

Thats why Bibi has been charged as a war criminal by the ICC. But of course, our Congressman and Senators all weep tears of joy when they see the great Bibi. Why he's the greatest man they've ever seen! 100 standing ovations for every line of his speech.

“Justice for Palestinians.” There is a fair to middling chance that the result would be no more Palestinians. They have been a festering sore of Jew hatred and an excuse for terrorism for 75 years.

The long history of that region = Israelite and Jewish settlements go way way farther back in time, than modern Syrian Palestinian settlements.

When asked if Palestinians would agree to peace and a two-state solution - they say NO - every time.

Plus - no one in the region LIKES the violent angry rage-obsessed Palestinians. They are a bit like American Seattle flavored Antifa thugs.

RCOCEAN II has proven to be an unabashed antisemite and a loudspeaker for Hamas propaganda. This point of view requires a virtually complete ignorance of the geopolitics and demographics of the Israeli/Palestinian Arab conflict and the goals of the Muslim Brotherhood founders of Hamas as well as an otherwise inexplicable tolerance for terrorism. It is not worth considering.

Egypt shares a border with Gaza, and keeps it locked at least as tight as Israel does. Why are they not being condemned for contributing to the genocide?

"Palestine" was given their chance for justice in 2006, they chose poorly. I can't understand this line of thinking that Palestinians are oppressed or have been mistreated by Israel. The people chose to be led by a cult of death. That cult rejected all form of reasonable peace proposals. Now a line of demarcation has been reached. Every country that votes for "justice for Palestine" should welcome what's left into their country as refugees, turn Gaza into a resort, and the world can move on.

They have nothing to fear. They will be used for propaganda purposes, and will serve as Hamas's mouthpiece to the west. Why would Hamas want to harm them? They're the useful idiots, much like Walter Duranty was with the USSR.

I am considering fleeing Bluesky. I do not feel safe over there. Whatever "safe" means in that context.

George Takei posted a comment scorning our president for talking about transgender mice study and how stupid he is for getting it wrong.

I posted a link and a screenshot to the study (Reversibility of Testosterone-Induced Acyclicity after Testosterone Cessation in a Transgender Mouse Model)

Oh, my! The hate I got for doing that. It was like sitting down at the mean girls table in middle school or something.

I haven't seen any hate going the other way on Bluesky but there sure is a lot going from fascists (or progressives as they style themselves) toward normies like me.

To quote the bard of LA, Rodney King "Please can't we all just get along?"

I thought that might make an interesting post on Bluesky. so went looking. I am absolutely, positively, 100% sure, that I remember a picture of Hanoi Jane sitting on a gun pretending to aim or fire or such.

Should be easy to find, right? Nope. I even tried searching with Google.

Easy to find hundreds of pics of her in VN, some with a VN helmet. None at all of her sitting on a gun though several mentions of it.

I did find a video clip of her in a gun peering through the sight. Probably what I was remembering. https://youtu.be/ilw_siMKlgg?si=lakmlyUIISBkR3R6 look quick at about 10 seconds or you will miss it.

I wonder if the pics have been memory holed? If so, by who?

I doubt core ethnic Europeans ("whites") are going to start attacking Jews. They may disagree with Israeli policy -- most of the world does -- but that doesn't make them murderous, all the less so since they have to deal with Muslim violence in their countries.

The media is trying to sell the idea of "Black fatigue." Whether or not there's anything to that, "Middle East fatigue" is real. There is so much propaganda, lies, and half-truths from both sides, and from their supporters in the US, that one tends to disengage. What happened on October 7 and what happened in DC and Boulder is indeed horrible. The history of the region is complicated, and both sides put out lies and propaganda in their own self-interest to cover over their land disputes and have done so for decades.
