Watching some ads on Amazon prime today- since it's no longer ad free- saw my first MAHA ads. Snack foods with no artificial dyes or food coloring, but the same great taste! And the same old names. At least, the same great taste was promised by the ads. Still, it's going to be kind of freaky eating cheese flavored snacks that aren't an orange color of some sort. We're entering a Brave New World of drabness.
In war news today, a headline from the UK Mirror: Brits must 'actively prepare' for war on UK soil, chilling government strategy warns Kind of creates a question that should be answered- how does a disarmed population prepare for home defense with firearm ownership prohibited? And knife ownership to boot. And swords. Do they arm everyone with pitchforks and shovels and torches? Or are those also prohibited?
Those are lovely shots. Tomorrow, can we discuss Kash Patel's findings, being shared with Senator Grassley, about the 2020 Chinese plot to flood the US with fake id's to enable a tsunami of fake mail-in ballots that would hand the election to Biden? Of course the CCP will CCP, but the treasonous aspect of this is that upon receiving relevant intel about the plot, the FBI apparently not only failed to pursue it, but buried the reports and instructed the other intelligence agencies to do the likewise. Whistleblowers in formed Sen. Grassley who passed it on to Patel. I'm sure that great patriot former director Wray will have a perfectly reasonable explanation.
“Althouse, Do the pictures look as good or better than what you saw with your naked eye?”
The one way in which the pictures are always better is that I’m framing the shot. There’s much more to the sky than the rectangle I’m giving you, and I’m picking the best rectangle.
But the experience in person is so much more all encompassing. There is a mystique that’s just different.
Sometimes I’m disappointed that the photograph is worse than what I saw, and sometimes I’m a little annoyed that the photograph is more dramatic than the way I saw it, but sometimes I like the way the photograph changes it.
By saying that it changes it, I’m forced to be completely subjective. How do I know what I really saw? How can I compare that to the photograph? I’m trying to remember something that I experienced subjectively and compare that mental image to what I’m seeing on the screen.
Also my vision isn’t perfect so when I look at the photograph on the computer screen, it’s got a lot more clarity. Whenever there is a good amount of texture to the clouds, I’m surprised to see it.
I’ve taken so many of these pictures that I can predict how the photograph will change it and that affects how I how I see it subjectively when I’m out there.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X that “this alleged ‘assessment’ is flat-out wrong and was classified as ‘top secret’ but was still leaked to CNN by an anonymous, low-level loser in the intelligence community.
An alleged assessment was classified as top secret. Really? How could that happen?
“Everyone knows what happens when you drop 30,000-pound bombs . . ." but nobody knows anyone who really knows.
“Everyone knows what happens when you drop 30,000-pound bombs . . ."
Apparently Trump's bombing campaign in Iran did not destroy the Fordow nuclear facility, but it did bury two of its entrances in rubble. If that's not enough for him to unanimously win the Nobel Peace Prize, I don't know what is.
Power line had a great comment section, but the bloggers themselves were a mixed bag. One of them hated Trump so much, he might as well been a liberal Democrat. The other 2 were squishy moderates with a hard zionist edge. IRC, none of the 3 voted for Trump in 2016.
However, they got some good pushback from their comment section, which I assume will end.
Yeah, the radio Network (abc?) had some BS story about "Top secret sources saying Trump was wrong and the Iranian faciliites were "Just Damaged". LOL. Like we're supposed to believe the MSM-DNC when they quote some anonymous source to attack Trump!
Who knows what the damage is. We'll need a report from an objective source, willing to put their name to it.
Lost touch with my best 6th grade friend when my family moved. In those days, would have been a toll call, which woulda got me a whuppin' from step-dad. We were normal kids then. Saw him at the mall about ten years later, had recently been released from prison after doing time for attempted murder, and was proud of it. Total hard-ass Aryan Brotherhood gangster.
Was nice to see him, but never followed up 'cause I already had enough problems.
Anyway, yesterday, decades later, accidentally see he is on facebook, posting pictures of, and expressing love for his little cockapoo dog.
As well as pics of collectible figurines, and pretty flowers in his garden.
I guess people really can change for the better. Still gonna keep my distance, better safe than sorry.
This a MISSION ACCOMPLISHED moment. Trump and Hegseth said that Iran's nuclear facilities were completely destroyed/obliterated without any knowledge that it was true.
Of course, the Trump administration grossly exaggerated their success and bragged about it. The professionals have left the building. This is amateur hour.
Power Line is an excellent blog, second only to this one. I read it every day. I was kicked off commenting for mildly antagonizing one of their writers (Paul Mirengoff). He’s long gone.

You, and others, seem to be suggesting America should drop a dozen more just to be certain?
A number of people asserted that PLB has the best comments section. Sorry, but Althouse blog does and it is not that close.
A site that allows blatantly, ridiculously sexually provocative pictures - all in one direction - and drooling commentary on same, but permanently bans people (such as myself) for referring to a rape apologist (not one of the commenters, but like Whoopi's "rape-rape") an "asshole" (as I did, back in the days when their prohibition on "bad words" was in tiny print) is not a site I would put in the same universe as Althouse.
At least 5 Iranian military aged males taken into custody today for immigration violations. (My source did 5- so there were others...) One had IED components in his residence. Other agencies were watching him for months- but can't use immigration law or status for arrests and searches... They need "probable cause", a different standard of proof then-"he's here unlawfully". CBP can call on them if they feel the need for assistance though.
Right now CBP officers are loving their jobs. Because they're getting to do them without being hamstrung. Getting them into custody is easy- getting rid of them is where the system is breaking down. But they can stay in custody forever, or until a judge intervenes and wants to know what the detainee is guilty of... as many Article III judges think it's OK to enter the country unlawfully. It's not a real crime, or in Oprah's words- "It's not rape rape..."
I referred to "rape rape" before reading the other comment that did- and apparently credited it to the wrong person. Hey, I'm now 70- at least I can remember the comment. BTW- google attribute the term "rape rape" to Republican congresscritter Todd Akin in 2012- and it was said by Whoopi in 2009 in re Roman Polanski, Democrat hero. Bias in search results- Wow! Who'd a thunk it!
Gotta winder if it's even older then that. NYS in 2024 passed a rape is rape bill. I didn't even bother looking up what it says.
In January of 2024, the day President Trump took office, the average national price of a dozen eggs was: $2.52.
Eggs are now $4.54/dozen. They are now 80% higher than when Trump took office.
The highest average price ever recorded by the Federal Reserve, which tracks egg prices, was in March of 2025, during Trump's second term, at $6.22/dozen.
The price of eggs may be falling, but they're insanely expensive under Trump than they were under Joe Biden.
Gas also jumped this week according to Triple A, up to $3.25/gallon on average in the US.
Trump needs to start worrying about the failing US economy instead of starting new forever wars in the Middle East.
Mamdani is looking pretty good in NY right now. I really didn’t think his people would show up. The only hope now is that his precincts reported early and most of Cuomo’s haven’t.
It's amazing to me that anybody is saying anything about the condition of the Iranian nuclear sites, as if they've got an inside track. And yet here it is. We have an 'experts' in the press, some of them the same actors that hawked the 'Hunter Biden laptop = Russia !' being certain that Iran's program has only been set back a coupla weeks, max. And with a straight face, yet. I guess they got right on the phone with the Iranian corporal that was sent into the hole with a flashlight and a camera. Can't wait to see this story develop.
It's possible that nobody knows exactly what condition the interior of Fordow is. If anyone outside of Iran knows, it's Netanyahu, being fed intel by Israeli agents who continue to roam around Iran. Bibi is not talking to CNN; he is talking to Trump. Without a reasonable confidence that the Fordow site is severely damaged, and that the enriched U is still inside, there would be no cease fire.
"The average price of a dozen large, grade-A eggs was $4.15 in December 2024, up 14% from $3.65 in November, federal data shows. That's a more than 60% increase from the $2.51 it cost a year ago and 160% more than the $1.41 consumers paid for the same carton in 2019, CBS News' price tracker reveals."
Gasoline prices down in my neighborhood also. Santa Clara County, also know as Silicon Valley due to lots of hightech stuff and inexpensive breast implants.
[shrug] I buy HEB's* cage free eggs, and today they're $4.51/doz. Ordinary eggs are right at $3 there. I haven't checked Walmart, for instance, or Sam's or Costco.
* And I pity all those who don't live in Texas and have access to HEB, the best supermarket in the free world. And I came here from the Mid-Atlantic states where there was Wegmans, so I know of what I speak.
Unlike our host, I have not made a daily practice of framing images, so it turns out that one of the small joys of my life is when I take a picture of something I think is cool and the picture vastly outstrips my memory of the actual scene. Because I have, and have always had, an Android phone (I mean, who knows, maybe Apple has this too), I have a lockscreen that allows me to stack up a bunch of images that appear in random order each time I unlock.
"A number of people asserted that PLB has the best comments section." I was banned from PowerLineBlog's comment section over a decade ago, because I used a word that they don't like. I could easily get around this by making a sock-puppet Discus ID, but why bother? The prigs at PLB are welcome to lick me where I stink.
Most people cannot buy eggs in your neighborhood, so I'm using data nationally, to account for the largest amount of people who might be wondering where the egg economy is in Donald Trump's America. The Federal Reserve collects data on egg sales nationally, and produces a report every month on the national average price of a dozen eggs. This represents what most people pay, across the United States and is the best data available on the national egg situation.
It's horrid. Eggs under Donald Trump are DOUBLE what they were when he took office.
As of June 23, 2025, AAA reports that the average gas price in Santa Clara County, CA is $4.68. In January 2025, the average gas price in Santa Clara County, CA was approximately $4.31 per gallon for regular unleaded.
Gas is SIGNIFICANTLY higher now than when Donald Trump took office, in Santa Clara, California.
America is only supposed to start WW III or a forever war; it isn't supposed to do asymmetric war. That's supposedly the privilege of former European colonies. But Trump saw the advantages of asymmetric war and did it in the attack on Iran's nuclear weaponization program which is a one-off - the essential point about an asymmetric war attack. The leftys are furious. They are insisting that Trump can only start a war-war, that that's the only kind imperialist oppressors are allowed to do according to lefty rules and so under the War Powers Act, Trump should have notified Congress, arranged a debate, received permission, sent in an army and properly started WW III. Or maybe a forever war. But he can't do the asymmetric war thing; it isn't proper. Well, let them ramble and rage - the leftys can't function any more without their daily does of whatever-Trump-does-we-hate. But, to me, removing the nuclear weapons program of the chief sponsor of terrorism before the said sponsor knew we were there and then going home and expressing an intention to stay there - it seems a better plan than WW III.
SO Chuck continues his lie about egg prices. Typical democrat/leftist: full of lies and horseshit. You would think he'd be embarrassed after being corrected twice, but these POS's love to gaslight.
Or, to put the matter in perspective, suppose I told you that there were high officials at the pentagon who had dual citizenship -- US and China? Or US and Russia? US and France? US and UK? Any of those OK? Oh, but US and Israel is as American as apple pie. Because what's good for Israel is good for the USA! (USA)! ((USA))!(((USA)))!
Here is kind of an interesting story from Le Monde. You can translate it with Chat or Grok, if you are interested, but you can probably understand it well enough, just looking at the link.
One significant difference is that Israel the UK and France are all allies. I'd be perfectly happy with a dual citizen of any one of these countries working at the Pentagon. I have dual Irish/US citizenship and I wouldn't dream of giving it up. I live mostly in the US and am as American as I could possibly be. I am also fortunate to be able to travel easily in and live anywhere in Europe. I'll very likely retire to my house in Ireland, but I'll always be a Yank. It's not devious or malign to hold dual citizenship, it's mostly just good luck.
"Gas is SIGNIFICANTLY higher now than when Donald Trump took office, in Santa Clara, California"?
So what? Are you aware that the national tax on gasoline is 18.4 cents per gallon, unchanged since 1997, while California charges 61.2 cents per gallon "excise tax", 7.5 cents per gallon "prepayment of sales tax", and 2.25 cents per gallon "sales tax rate (plus applicable district taxes)"? (All figures except the first from this official California website: link.) The regular sales tax in Santa Clara (city and county) is 9.125%. (It's 5.3% here in the Shenandoah Valley.) Assuming that's over and above the other three numbers, that adds up to 80.075 cents per gallon in state and local taxes, which Trump has no control over. Furthermore, I've read that two California refineries are closing because of onerous regulations, and I know that California requires specially-formulated gas that is supposedly better for the environment and costs much more to refine - especially when you have fewer refineries to do it - which grossly increases the pre-tax cost of gasoline there. Throw in the complete breakdown of law and order in many California cities, which increases the number of drive-away thefts and armed robberies, and you will begin to understand why you're paying so much, and why your gas prices are not dropping, while mine here in Virginia are, and probably in the other 48 states, too.
In short, if you want to argue about gas prices, you might want to go with a national average, or at least some typical average state or city, rather than picking a locale known for (as the saying goes) screwing every car-owner with a rusty auger.
Finally, whatever you do, please don't move to Virginia. If you're that ignorant of basic economics, we don't want you voting here. We have enough idiots in office already, starting with our two senators.
Steve Hayward was my only reason to read Powerline for many years and since he's decamped to his own SubStack (with support from his fellow 3WHH podcasters John Yoo and "Lucretia", along with some other contributors) I find myself visiting there less and less. Hinderaker also seems to be taking the site more in the direction of highlighting his American Experiment organization so its becoming more Minnesota-centric, and after I moved out of Iowa I'm just not that interested in the state, either (even though my brother, sister, and one nephew are in the Twin Cities.)
And, Newsomes admin is adding another gas tax in June. These taxes are for road repair and maintenance but somehow end up diverted to "more urgent things"

Former... Donald Trump took office in January 2025. Your link shows average egg price of $4.953 for January. Your link shows average egg price of $4.548 for May.
"The commie-pinkos will do anything to denigrate Trump and the military."
I’m sure we can always count on Trump to be honest with the American people and admit it if it was not completely successful because he always tells us the truth and takes responsibility for his failures.
The grocery store I work at didn't raise our egg prices, but we couldn't get enough to last much past noon. During that time, eggs everywhere else were $9.99/dozen.
After stocking all our egg shelves tonight, we still had 20- cases of back stock. Our prices haven't changed, but the supply chain is functioning normally.
I have seen that mistake made before and it really does puzzle me how some people think Trump took office in January 2024 (or thinking Biden taking office in January 2020 where I saw the mistake previously). Is it because the election takes place in a calendar year different from the inauguration and people don't instinctively grasp that?
I have to give Trump props. When he started mouthing the words of the neocons, I got pretty mad, but at the end of the day, he didn't have a lot of choices, and he might have just stopped a war that the neocons and Netanyahu had worked very hard to maneuver him into.
I should trust him more by now, but he did sort of lie, and I am not used to him lying. I am used to him being constantly accused of lying, but never where there was an actual lie from him.
Long term, I doubt it's going to work. 400 tons of highly enriched uranium are now gone missing, "lost it in a boating accident," this was a highly telegraphed attack. Iran is claiming that they moved it. So maybe it's in those now buried caves, but Iran dug those caves in the first place, so they can dig out the uranium, if that's where it really is. And the IAEA has been kicked out, for bad faith. For providing the pretext for the attack on Iran by bringing up 20 year old findings two weeks ago about violations that the Iranians had already admitted to back then, and addressed, by surrendering the uranium in question to Russia. But we needed a pretext now, and the IAEA was right there with one, Johnny on the Spot.
I doubt that this war is over. A deal would have been better.
You are a clown, Bich. The Iranians are the ones who sealed the entrances to the underground complexes with dirt- why I don't know but that is what is shown from the pre-bombing satellite images- the bombs were dropped well away from the entrances and onto the mountain itself- there are no craters because the bombs penetrate well into the earth before detonating. The only way to assess the amount of damage to the structures underground is going to be eye witness reports which won't be given to the public regardless of what did or did not happen on Saturday. However, feel free to spin your wheels on your fantasy knowledge about the efficacy of the bombings- I find it hilarious how you seem to think you are accomplishing anything here other than looking like a damned fool.
"The bombs were a dud - story" turns out leaked by .. "This CNN story was written by the same "reporter" who wrote the very first FAKE NEWS story claiming the Hunter Biden laptop was disinformation."
"One significant difference is that Israel the UK and France are all allies ...". I will point out, that in 1776, the UK was an enemy, and France was an ally. During the American Civil War, Lincoln was constantly concerned that either UK or France might support the Confederacy. A strong, united American nation was not in the interest of either, and both had extensive commercial relations with the Southern States. Washington made it very clear, that nations have interests, not friends.
France and the UK have been trying very hard to drag us deeper into the quagmire of the Ukraine. That does not serve any US interest that I recognize. Would it be acceptable to have a person employed at the Pentagon, or the State Department, who was a dual citizen, US and Ukraine? How could that person possibly serve both his masters? Only if their interests aligned perfectly. Which is not possible.
I doubt that this war is over. A deal would have been better.
You are such a child. Just ridiculous and absurd.
Have fun in your make believe reality where Trump didn't make a deal because he isn't as smart or talented as you are. And in your special world it isn't your inability to see what is actually going on. No you are the smartest person in the world and everyone else is crazy.
Iran totally would have done everything you wanted them too because you are a special person.
HT ACE "President Trump on Monday warned oil producers not to raise prices in the wake of U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, cautioning that a spike would benefit America's enemies. "EVERYONE, KEEP OIL PRICES DOWN. I'M WATCHING!"
"Key Details:
Trump posted on Truth Social: "YOU'RE PLAYING RIGHT INTO THE HANDS OF THE ENEMY. DON'T DO IT!"
""Oil prices fell after the post, with Brent Crude and West Texas Intermediate both slipping by about one percent following earlier gains driven by Middle East tensions.
In a follow-up message, Trump told the Department of Energy: "DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!! And I mean NOW!!!"
Michael Chertoff, who was "the senior Justice Department official on duty at the F.B.I. command center right after the September 11 attacks" (Wikipedia), had dual citizenship.
"Have fun in your make believe reality where Trump didn't make a deal because he isn't as smart or talented as you are." I suspect that Trump operates in a context of what is possible. Knowing what is true, is certainly useful, in considering how to operate, but a truth that is widely denied may not be worth fighting for. If you value truth, maybe you put someone who wants to fight for truth in a position where they can do so. But you don't lend your prestige to their fight. Trump likes 80/20.
It is very very annoying that after searching for something to watch on television you find a program that promises sex violence and nudity and then the nudity turns out to be some guy's ass and no boobs at all Has happened more than once
living room hvac is out- getting a little sticky inside. parts are ‘ordered’. There’s not that many parts on these units but nobody holds inventory anymore…
I read Powerline for This week in Pictures and to keep up with the crazy stuff going on in Minnesota as two of my three children still live there and I summer there. The comments have never been great and Scott Johnson is a Nazi and bans people for anything he dislikes. I was banned for mentioning Pete Buttplug in a comment.
rehajm said... “There’s not that many parts on these units but nobody holds inventory anymore…”
We wanted to shop for specific gardening tools and type of bush to replace a dying one in our back yard. No stores carry what we want. We checked the big box stores, nurseries, even wal-mart. They only stock the high volume items. They could order what we wanted. But it would take a couple of weeks to come in.
Unlike Althouse Blog, Powerline Blog has morphed into a pro-Trump propaganda machine over the past few years. Anyone who didn't follow the Trump Talking Points from the Trump Ministry of Truth were ostracized. It was nothing but a Trump echo chamber. I think they changed to the pay format to try to get away from that. The blog is still free to read. You just have to pay to comment. And the cost? A whopping 13 pennies per day! An outrage, I say, an outrage!
We got our eggs for free from friends that have chickens. Otherwise, we’d get them from HEB. What I wouldn’t do is get eggs from a person that doesn’t know what year it is. How could they guarantee freshness? I understand mental decline causes people to forget events and dates, and I would want to help them. But buy eggs from someone with such a mental decline, nope.
FormerLawClerk said... Help me Jesus. Guess who gets to determine the price of eggs. Chickens. I know. Weird. Lots of chickens. Lots of lady chickens. Lots of eggs. Lots of eggs the price of eggs goes down. Fewer lady chickens the price of eggs goes up.
I would put the price of eggs in the category of things about which the actions or inactions of presidents do not have a great deal of direct impact. One exception was the euthanasia of millions of chickens due to bird flu during Biden's administration--an action which I believe any sane president would have taken, so I don't blame him. Here on the Eastern Shore, where there are many more chickens than people, a dozen grade A large eggs is $3.99 at Acme. You can pay a lot more for organic free range cage free vegetarian eggs if you want to.
Is the federal reserve lying about egg prices? The answer to that is likely- Yes. And No. How you get the averages matters.
The prices I quoted are from Central NY, or the Finger Lakes Region, or Upstate- depending on where you're from to start...
So I just searched -grocery ads Staten Island NY-, and quite frankly, was shocked at prices there. At least the prices at shopmarketfresh.com. The cheapest price was $4.99 for a dozen Grade A branded Land O'Lakes. Sticking to large Grade A eggs- you could go up to $9.99 a dozen. The most expensive at our local Wegmans was $4.99 for a dozen grade A organic brown eggs. Grade AA eggs isn't an option at marketfresh.com, a dozen large AA non-organic eggs in CNY is $2.99. And the last is what I have sitting in my fridge right now- 6 of them left from my last purchase.
I did recently pay $9.00 for a dozen eggs. Locally produced duck eggs, assorted sizes, not graded, but very fresh. They were okay, but IMHO, nothing to rave about. Yolks are much larger in duck eggs- which is why the place I bought them from uses them to make frozen custard. Things you learn as you get along in life- age 70 is when I learned duck egg yolks make up more egg volume then chicken egg yolks. And according to the dairy- all frozen custard is ice cream but not all ice cream is frozen custard. And I still don't know the real difference between the two- though I enjoy them both.
So with such widely varying prices in a single state, how does the federal reserve determine what the average nationwide price is? Answer is- they can't. There is no actual national average. Market conditions vary too much to determine one. So they cherry pick the prices they want to get the average they want to justify the actions they take. So are they lying? Take your pick of yes or no- they're both true.
Unlike Althouse Blog, Powerline Blog has morphed into a pro-Trump propaganda machine over the past few years. Anyone who didn't follow the Trump Talking Points from the Trump Ministry of Truth were ostracized.

Glorious photos!
I love the deep blue of the first photo.
Althouse, Do the pictures look as good or better than what you saw with your naked eye? Because, the pictures are gorgeous!
how does a disarmed population prepare for home defense with firearm ownership prohibited?
Orwell asked the same question at the beginning of WWII. Some things never change.
Today a Judge made a decision and cited the dissent in the Supreme court case that overturned his decision.
Hopefully this hack gets to spend some time in prison for the damage he is doing to our judicial institutions.
“I'm sure that great patriot former director Wray will have a perfectly reasonable explanation.”
Wray is another wonderful recommendation made by Chris Krispy, Emperor of Jelly Donutlandia.
I suspect a big part of your art is selecting which shots to display.

Pay to comment? No thanks.
"It's just a flesh wound!"
BTW, those are a great set of photos. With a few tweaks you could turn those into Turner paintings.

You, and others, seem to be suggesting America should drop a dozen more just to be certain?
Any reason not to?
Yeah all those bunker busters merely scattered some rocks around the entrance. A mini-excavator will have it cleaned up by the weekend, right Kak?
The commie-pinkos will do anything to denigrate Trump and the military.
Egg prices still dropping, and :

I only use PLB for the weekly memefest--and I forgot to check last week. Thanks for the reminder.

Sweet Baby Jesus, are you dense?!? WTF!!!
You were already corrected about this statement this morning. Trump was sworn in January of 2025
Mamdani is looking pretty good in NY right now.
NYC Primary: 77% of votes counted, Mamdani 44%, Cuomo 36%. I smell something rank, coming.
Brown eggs prices falling, as well thanks to Trump
In my neighborhood
It's possible that nobody knows exactly what condition the interior of Fordow is. If anyone outside of Iran knows, it's Netanyahu, being fed intel by Israeli agents who continue to roam around Iran. Bibi is not talking to CNN; he is talking to Trump. Without a reasonable confidence that the Fordow site is severely damaged, and that the enriched U is still inside, there would be no cease fire.
Thanks FullMoon. Nice anecdote about your childhood friend. I like real anecdotes ... its refreshing to read something ... real.
Pretty much all prices are either falling or have stabilized. Crude oil futures are around $65 or less. Phoney Law Clerk is just stirring the pot.
Mamdani 44%, Cuomo 36%
Gives me mixed feelings. I'd love to gloat as NYC goes in the toilet, but I have friends in the area who would suffer the consequences.
Zohran Mamdani has won the 2025 New York City Democratic Mayoral Primary. This should be fun.
Eggs at local Walmart: $2.70. Gas at local Walmart: <$2.50 Oh, the agony.
Gasoline prices down in my neighborhood also. Santa Clara County, also know as Silicon Valley due to lots of hightech stuff and inexpensive breast implants.
I don't know where you buy eggs FormerLawClerk. From their website, right now: Wegmans Grade AA Large Eggs, 12 Count
Price is: $2.99 /ea
AA, not A. I do know the difference. And at Walmart: Great Value, Large White Eggs, Grade A 12 Count $2.72
Grade AA is well worth the extra 27¢.
A diaspora of rich New Yorkers will be bad for the rest of the country, as is the diaspora of rich Californians.
Thanks for the very relevant context, Gospace!
"A number of people asserted that PLB has the best comments section."
I was banned from PowerLineBlog's comment section over a decade ago, because I used a word that they don't like.
Of course, they won't, 'cuz they are way too busy licking Israel where it stinks. Which is, indeed, a demanding task.
OK then ! You won't mind if I continue to occupy *my* reality, I assume - not that it makes a bit of difference to me. Cheerio.

"Is the Federal Reserve lying about egg prices?"
Apparently. Any commenters here experience higher egg or gas prices since Biden's exit?
Nope.

I suspect that Trump operates in a context of what is possible. Knowing what is true, is certainly useful, in considering how to operate, but a truth that is widely denied may not be worth fighting for. If you value truth, maybe you put someone who wants to fight for truth in a position where they can do so. But you don't lend your prestige to their fight. Trump likes 80/20.

We wanted to shop for specific gardening tools and type of bush to replace a dying one in our back yard. No stores carry what we want. We checked the big box stores, nurseries, even wal-mart. They only stock the high volume items. They could order what we wanted. But it would take a couple of weeks to come in.
Powerline’s legacy will be the banning of commenters.
Unlike Althouse Blog, Powerline Blog has morphed into a pro-Trump propaganda machine over the past few years. Guess who gets to determine the price of eggs.
Chickens.
I know. Weird.
Lots of chickens. Lots of lady chickens. Lots of eggs. Lots of eggs the price of eggs goes down. Fewer lady chickens the price of eggs goes up.
The composition of the second picture is very good.
"This is amateur hour." Uh, withdrawal from Afghanistan?

Here in California, probably haven't seen gas that low since the Reagan. And, another gas tax increase in July.
Call me teh tumbling egg.
