A timely, well placed missile up an Iranian proxy ended the second Iraq war and regional Spring.

Operation supersize bitch slap.

I agree on the lack of imagination for the name of the operation. I think "Operation Crunchy TACO" would have also set off a lot of exploding heads this morning.

Interesting that initial news reports said 6 MOPs were deployed. In fact, there were 14. 7 B2’s, each carrying 2 bombs, all discharged.

DD(d) - Doubtful. Liz Cheney's hatred of Trump is far greater than any mission.

Looking forward to the pictures of bus size Iranians standing around the downed B2 bomber the size of an aircraft carrier.

Well, only one of these things can be true, either Trump has not turned up the selectivity of MAGA to eleven, or one side of MAGA has not spent the day pushing another side of MAGA out of the movement, even here in these threads.

Several entry points can be seen, indicating the explosives penetrated deep towards the facility. The entry points are on the ridgelines, which are directly above the centrifuge halls."

The strategic objective is to prevent the development of Iranian nuclear weapons, not contain them. I believe that Iran was going to test a bomb in the very near future. The Ayatollah's bombastic rhetoric hinted as much. These strikes obliterated the nuclear sites and look like a tactical success. Civilian casualties are at an absolute minimum. And these raids didn't throw up highly radioactive compounds, the bombs buried these labs forever. Now Trump needs to manage the risks of a wider war. Iran's leaders may mobilize it's people by portraying these "surgical strikes" as a Pearl Harbor (a "surgical strike" that went wrong for the Japanese). But I think Iran's leaders will bluff and launch a few meaningless attacks. They will use these raids as an opportunity to reinforce their hold over their people and prevent the political evolution of their people. I don't expect any meaningful diplomacy.

20 years after my last C-130 flight I became an Operational Test Manager for the C-17. The first mission I was on that allowed for a crew meal was the fried chicken. It was, as you said, the BEST.

The general rule during WWII was two words, available for public dissemination, one word, top secret. An example of the two-word variety was Operation Magic Carpet, the use of warships as transports for demobbed soldiers and rescued POWs back to their homes and families. The typical troop transports of the era could cruise at 7 to 8 knots, whereas a major warship, a heavy cruiser or fleet carrier could triple that speed. Getting the victorious troops home quickly was a morale boost for the nation ordered by Truman personally, thus the name.

The point of the one-word name was secrecy. Even if the name fell on unauthorized ears, the enemy should not be able to divine much useful information from that breach of security. Most of the time those names hid intent quite well. For example, Operation Dragoon implied something speedy and aggressive, such as a tank-heavy offensive thrust by Patton's Third Army, and that was exactly what the German high command expected and prepared for by reinforcing Alsace-Lorraine. What they got was a virtually unopposed landing by the American Sixth Army Group on the French Mediterranean coast between Toulon and Cannes.

However, some of the one-word operational names absurdly obvious, particularly, Operation Gomorrah, the joint British and American bomber attack on Hamburg named for the Biblical city destroyed by fire and brimstone raining from the heavens.

The Iranians trucked a bunch of stuff out of Fordow prior to the strike. Maybe Israeli planes or missiles can get to that stuff if they know where it was taken.

weapons of mass destruction

Former and in development, was one of several reasons cited to end the first Iraq war. Clinton sustained, while bombing civil infrastructure in Serbia to force Europeans to take a knee, a precursor to Obama's second Iraq war through Iranian proxies and global ethnic Springs.

I also hope that the Americans don't kill the Ayatollah. He's an old geezer and replacing him with a young man is a seriously dumb idea. Younger men are more hot headed, more ready to take offence, more worried and frustrated about everything, more prone to being radicalized by causes, etc. It really is tiresome. Give me an old, senile geezer any day of the week!

DeeDee couldn't say where she's comin' from
But he just met a lady named Elizabeth Humm

She strolled on over, said “look here, bum
I got a forty-dollar bill say you can't make me cum
Y'jes can't do it”

She made a bet with her sister who's a little bit dumb
She could prove it any time all men was scum

DeeDee didn't mind that she called him a bum
But he knew right away she was really gonna cum
So he got down to it

DeeDee whipped off her bloomers 'n stiffened his thumb
An' applied rotation to her sugar plum

He poked 'n stroked till his limp wrist got numb
But he still didn't hear no Elizabeth Humm
Elizabeth Humm

Elizabeth Humm
Elizabeth Humm
Where dis Elizabeth
Comin' from
He done spent three hours
An' he ain't got a crumb
From the Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Elizabeth
From the Elizabeth Humm

There is no other side of MAGA.

There are just a bunch of people who are going to be eerily quiet in 6 months to a year when Iran joins the Abraham accords and there is a peaceful equilibrium in the Middle East for the first time in history.

Just like you are eerily quiet when COVID comes up because your hysterics during that episode are just like your hysterics now.

They already killed all of the younger men. They have been particularly hard in the IRGC leadership. They are clearly just keeping the supreme mullah alive as a figure head who the young people of Iran will naturally turn against for a variety of reasons.

It has only been 8 days since this was kicked off. But it is clear there has been a plan here for several months leading up to this.

It is also clear that this will only end with the Mullah's surrender and defenestration.

There is a shocking level of competence being displayed right now.

CNN immediately reported that Democrats on the Intel Committee were not informed in advance of the strike.

Now how did CNN know that? LOL! I'm sure they were frantically calling their Dem sources on the committee demanding to know whey they did not let the media know of the mission.

CNN, WaPo, NYT, & WSJ are all greatly disappointed that they were not able to publish an "Exclusive" yesterday prior to the operation.

the spetznaz could do that because it was already embedded in the palace,

Nice.
It is numerous in the extreme to hear lefties moaning they were not briefed. As an alternative we could have pulled Milley out of retirement to discuss the upcoming operation with his Iranian counterpart. (Assuming they have a traitorous buffoon in such a high position.)
Now, if we have multiple sleeper cells awaken be sure to remember the Biden handlers in your prayers.

Incredible mission duration for the crews. Sitting in an ejection seat for that long is literally a real pain in the butt. Much respect.

Gospace said...

War can exist without a declaration of war. And Congress has been lackadaisical about nullifying previous authorization for use of force. Remember- Iran attacked US territory- our embassy grounds, and took prisoners. That put us at war- without us declaring it. And no peace treaty has ever been signed. Whatever justification Jimmy Carter used for his failed rescue mission is probably still on the books, having never been cancelled. All the calls for impeaching Trump for starting a war that preexisted his presidency are going to go nowhere. And here's nothing any court can do about it- it's not in the hands of the judiciary. No one in the military leaked. I'm not surprised abut that. Likely not all JCS members were informed- then it would have leaked.

But setting aside all that, there's what's going to happen on the ground here. Kurt Schlichter has laid out scenarios in his fiction that could turn into reality. We know there are sleeper cells here. From multiple countries/regions/religion. Note the last is singular. And we know, at least most know, that cartels do, in fact, control multiple Mexican towns and cities. The central Mexican government does not have control over the whole country. Who else controls things down there? There are 3 Iranian militias in Mexico controlling their own town. Why not? After all- the Religion of Peace is busy trying to establish a sharia compliant town in Texas. And while we don't yet have no-go islamic areas in Michigan, like Europe had in multiple areas, how long before we do?

Umm, I know people in CBP. Working the border right now as I type. There's a lot going on right now that you don't know about- but people at the border and more importantly- people working at the border do know about.

This would be one of those things.

There's zero news coverage on several things going on in border areas and with multi-agency raids. And I hear only part of it. MSM isn't reporting news on what's going on- they're broadcasting propaganda. TBH, I doubt anyone doing the important stuff is talking to anyone outside close friends, family, and fellow agents, People they know and trust.

So you can believe it or not believe it. As for Epic City in Texas, from NPR: EPIC's attorney, Dan Cogdell, says the proposed community is open to anyone, and residents would not be required to adhere to Sharia law and would be free to practice or not practice any religion. Not being required to adhere to sharia is kind of saying sharia will exist there, isn't it?
