I once took classes on the 18th floor of a building with insufficient elevator capacity, and would walk up to the 2nd floor to get on an elevator going down so I could ride it back up. Only way to get to class on time. This seems similar.
All that Seattle liberal altruism seems in short supply when it comes to allowing merging traffic if he had to do that.
Set the pick! In Boston if that guy tried that move to save a street spot he’d be flattened…seen it.
Add a reflective vest on the passenger and it works well after sporting events to seem official. Saw that done after a Packer game.
That wouldn't work around here.

I took a trip to the midwest in the late 80s with a friend from the Bronx.
We were stopped at an intersection when a driver waved us through.
My friend's reaction? "WTF is this a**hole up to?"

Yes, it's being polite but unless you're the only cars at the intersection, I wish people wouldn't do it as it's confusing as to who goes next when there are more than just two cars waiting to go.
