I must admit I felt unease when I heard the US had bombed Iran. I thought it was a great thing that Iran ostensibly lost it's growing nuclear capabilities, and I thought that this was a chance for greater regional stability in the region in the medium term, because countries like Saudi Arabia are not lying when they say they would feel forced to get a nuclear weapon if Iran had one. But my actual emotion I felt was unease. I didn't feel betrayed by Trump at all but I was worried what might happen and how it could turn into another significant US involvement in area we shouldn't be regularly fighting in. But the rapidity in which this seems to have deescalated is truly astounding. And Trump gets monumental amounts of credit for providing an adequate use of force but not going any further than he did and leaving Iran an out and reason to still sue for peace. This would have been impossible under Biden but also any competent Democrat, and probably most Republicans because they all tend to make decisions by committee and rely far too much on 'experts.' I guess this is what peace through strength looks like.
There is so much vitriol and hatred for the Jewish state, and from so many people who I might otherwise find common ground with. I used to believer that anti-semitism was overstated and rare. Now I see it in so many people. It clouds judgement and is a poisonous flaw. People are people, with all of our many failures. There are few truly evil people, but many fools.

Uniformed opinion: I think what we have witnessed is a case of consummate planning, with excellent operational security. I think this short conflict will be studied at the military academies for a long time, for its level of perfection. Among the many lessons we should learn from this, one of the biggest should be that Russian military technology actually sucks. From the impenetrable S-400 air-defense system to the truly amazing "hypersonic" missiles, none of this equipment ever seems to live up to the hype. Maybe because although Russian "engineers" are amazing at making guns out of tractor parts, precision engineering is a little beyond their capabilities. Think about it: can Russian engineers even make a CAR? A pair of SHOES? A functioning TOILET? Why would you think they could make steerable hypersonic missiles or a working air-defense?
(China is far more dangerous, but I am holding onto hope that their military tech will fall apart in battle conditions because various totally corrupt subcontractor substituted cheap crappy materials).

The judiciary is also far left wing and hates the right wing. In contrast to USA, the left wing judiciary nominates their replacements, guaranteeing the supreme court will always be left wing. Which means the democratic will of the people is never assured because the judiciary simply vetoes what they don't like. It's horrible.
