"The Prompt Theory."

Great propaganda tool - but it depends upon people listening to it, which I didn't after about 5 seconds.

Using current observations as a prompt, the future is going to be criminally unfunny.

Once the gatekeepers lost the ability to use video and audio to control the masses ... once this power evolved into use by ordinary people ... the Joe Rogan's of the world, it became necessary to invent a mechanism whereby all video and audio could be made unreliable.

When you can no longer tell real video (or audio) from AI video, then there's no such thing as real video any longer.

The gatekeepers can maintain control again by calling anything they don't like fake.

And the vast majority - probably north of 90% - of people on the Earth are abject morons. This will work like magic.

You must be a Democrat.

The seven finger joke was a bit funny. Not a byte funny.... a bit.

We've already learned, via MSM, that video supporting the left is real. And video supporting the right is a deep fake. Just as any former Biden official.

In fact if the AI generations were just slightly more advanced Joe would have spent four more years in office. Well, if by "in office" you mean drooling into his pudding cup in his basement while AI Joe wowed us with his stamina and intellect.

Now that was just mean, Eva Marie @8:22am!

Kudos

First time I read and heard about Prompt theory Sounds like a stupid idea.

It's a good thing the Zizians are in jail, or the people who tried to land this gag could find themselves on the wrong side of a katana.

When presented with any mention of Prompt Theory, respond with: "That sounds like a stupid idea"

The judge was facing the wrong direction. Wonder if they stuck that in there as part of the bit.

My confidence that we will adapt to all this is unwarranted, but I think we will. Regular people will be able to tell stories. It could be open up the creative arts incredibly.

Or, things get really dark and we're numb to it all. Our choice.

Still obviously AI, something about the cheekbones is always wrong, always too perfect, but it's asymptotically approaching the point where we will be applying the Turing test to humans to prove they are real, rather than the computers to test if they are conscious.

Hasn’t Grok been talking for awhile?

I am going to go down to a beer league hockey game and use a humanoid robot to strap on the skates and play for me because I never got the chance to learn to skate, because my feet were too big and none of the free skates on offer fit me. Once my robot player wins the game, I step in and drink the free beer. Because reasons.

JAORE, remember Adam Selene from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress?

You can still tell by looking at the movements and details--skin and hair not quite right. But it used to be easy to tell, now you have to pay attention. You'd never notice from a casual viewing.

That hockey thing made more sense with the deleted comment, which read differently than I attended, about the November novel people who were claiming that banning AI was "ableist" since many people were limited in their ability to write, for all kinds of reasons, but should not be excluded from the glorious guild of published novelists, just because of that.

I attended an elementary school graduation last night and the school superintendent gave a terrible speech that was very obviously a product of AI. I was not the only person who noticed.

AI, oh. Correlation for some and I want to have none.

The tools predate the advent of Mechanized or Scripted Intelligence. The question is what is the definition of intelligence and how does it correlate with Anthropogenic Intelligence (AI).

We'll know Veo 3 is a success when it's used to sell porn.

Or maybe he was just a U of Delaware Ed.D. holder.

AI just helped me fix an electrical problem with my camper. Pointed me right to the problem. I think that it scans the RV forums and synthesizes results. IDK, but it worked.

What the hell is prompt theory? A DDG search didn't provide an answer. From the comments here, it appears to be that nothing is real, everyone is AI?

loudogblog said...

It's frightening how real these AI generated videos are becomming. Just look at how many people here thought this was real.

That was what, 6 months ago? Look where we are now.

There is an emerging field called prompt engineering, regarding the methods of asking llm’s questions to get the most efficient answers. I expect engineering schools to offer bs in prompt engineering majors soon.

I read stuff on my phone somewhat zoomed in. When I saw this post, the video caption was "Made with Goo".

Somehow appropriate.
