Popular culture should be teeming with examples. Let's hear 'em. I'm open to being persuaded.
There are two possible meanings from "8647."
Trump was hit by a bullet from a leftist who was obviously connected to the FBI and also clearly had inside support with people in the Secret Service.
They have unleashed violent mobs on cities dealing billions in damage and killing hundreds of people. They have colluded with the largest corporations to systematically censor political opposition. They have spent most of a decade changing laws, extending the statutes of limitation, and criminalizing widely practiced business activity to throw Trump in jail. They made up lies about the J6 protests killing police officers and used these lies to throw peaceful political opposition in jail.
These people do not get to claim the benefit of the doubt.
If you are arguing for their good character you are part of the problem at this point.
I said a few days ago that I thought the Qatari 747 story hadn't finished dropping yet, and sure enough.
..."what no one's talking to you about is this same 747 has been in negotiations for a year,” Mullin revealed. “The Biden administration is the one that started these conversations....”
So, some people have not heard of 86 as a euphemism for murder and some have. What do we conclude? That some people are not aware that 86 is a euphemism for murder. The alternative, that 86 is not a euphemism for murder, but some people have nonetheless heard that it is, is nonsensical.
It's interesting. 86 means the kitchen is out of a dish, so customers can't order it. In thug and mafia context, it means to off someone. In Comey's case, I cannot imagine it means a restaurant is out of a dish. Nor can I imagine he doesn't know the other meaning.
I read his first biography. He's insane. Like cucoo, get the straitjacket. How on earth did he become in charge of a federal agency?

James Comey's house has been ransacked in a pre-dawn raid by the 36 FBI agents, accompanied by CNN photographers. They have removed boxes and boxes of evidence.
His wife's panty drawer has been searched.
All his electronics have been confiscated and the FBI is now perusing all his communications with other people to ascertain whether there were others involved in producing this post who might be co-conspirators.
Comey was frog-marched to FBI headquarters, handcuffed and in leg-irons.

Gosh somebody's putting a lot of super-reasonable (pedantic) effort into the 'please convince me' routine. So many posts about his struggle ! Just imagine if the nation's former Top Crime Fighter had put a little more effort into thinking through the ramifications, broadcasting language that could be misinterpreted as a call for assassination. You're both adorable, so cute ! I wonder if the FBI ever learned anything about mob lingo from all those wiretaps over the years. Of course, he was probably just alluding to the restaurant business, even though admitting it's a 'political message'.
Scott Patton- We all know that Comey wants Trump gone, as in no longer president. This desire is irrational, as he knows that if Trump were no longer president, the current VP would be his worse nightmare as president- the same aims, even more motivation, and with fewer flaws that would limit his effectiveness. Nevertheless, Comey wants Trump gone. There are several ways to make a sitting president gone. 1. Wait for the end of his term. Not good enough, obviously. 2. Have him resign. Not gonna happen. 3. Impeachment and conviction. Not gonna happen. 4. Die of natural causes. Tell me another one. 5. Terminate with extreme prejudice. Now we're getting close to what would fill Comey with joy, and what Comey is trying to encourage someone, anyone, to do- he's not courageous enough to do anything other than cheer others on. There is no defending what Comey is doing here. He's not inciting Trump's coronary arteries to spasm, he's not encouraging the House to impeach and the Senate to convict. He's hoping that his perfectly deniable tweet will push some lunatic over the edge, convince another suicidal confused loser to climb onto another roof and aim a little straighter than the last guy. Comey will never be indicted, never be convicted. He'll be asked some pointed questions, will deflect them with one lie or another, and make a public statement that this is all just a misunderstanding, maybe even have some of his cronies remind us that politics ain't beanbag, and it will all be forgotten. Until the next time.
Quaestor said... Do you really believe Comey found that assassination message? I don't know. Nothing would surprise me either way. How many Trump haters are within a mile of Comey at any given time? I'm not even saying that isn't what he meant. I'm not saying it isn't an assassination message.(Is there a word for an IRL meme?) I just saw a sticker on a car door of Calvin (common cartoon) peeing on the word "Trump". I'm saying that if 86 means murder, there would be a crazy number of examples on the internet (from movies, TV, books, magazines). I looked and found almost none. I see that amt posted some rap lyrics. That makes it 4 or 5 actual (found) use cases on the entire internet. Multiply that by a hundred and compare to Whack, rub out, bump off, offed, etc. There are probably hundreds of thousands/millions of use cases of those words. Maybe I'm way off on the scale of that, but the point stands. It's mentioned by reference (slang dictionaries and such), but without any actual usage. I've never heard it used that way in person. Nor have I heard it used in the restaurant context. I have heard it used to mean run away, hide, duck out, discard, expel (like tossed from a bar).
West TX Intermediate Crude said... "He's hoping that his perfectly deniable tweet will push some lunatic over the edge" Totally plausible. Long shot , but in any case, playing on the beech is fun. I'm stretching my point, but the fact that apparently, "86" is almost never actually used to mean murder only enhances the deniability.
Data Republican: finds: EXPOSED: Soros, the Deep State & the Shadow Network 💥🔥
Today, I launched a powerful new tool that indexes the National Endowment for Democracy journal... and here's what it uncovers:
🔍 Dozen-plus Open Society Foundation staff, funded by George Soros, are writing in a U.S. government-backed journal.
🇺🇸 That journal is part of our taxpayer-funded National Endowment for Democracy, a quasi-government operation tied to foreign "democracy" missions- and Congress sits on its board.
No conspiracy theories. This is hard data.
📎 This proves Soros and our intelligence apparatus are deeply intertwined.
I think the operative number here is "6". Nothing but bad news, really.
86 = get rid of, ban, etc. Deep 6 = bury it. January 6 = arrest and forget. I've got your 6 = someone's attacking from your rear. And, of course, if you repeat 6 three times fast, the Devil's got ahold of you :-(
Scott- I think we are arriving at the same point from different directions. I'm open to having missed alternative interpretations that Comey may want to have us infer, but however many there may be, his favored one will be my #5. Does anyone believe that Comey would be happy if Trump decides to resign to spend more time with his family? There is mens rea there.
OK, let's offer this commonly used phrase chanted at demonstrations:
"FUCK Trump!" "FUCK Trump HARD!"
Explain why that phrase is not a clear threat against the POTUS, that the person uttering it is NOT literally advocating that Trump be violently sexually assaulted.
You know, like it's just a term of insult.
But "86-ing" someone, OTOH has always and only been used to urge death on someone, even by restaurant and bar workers seeking only to expel a drunk or unruly person from their establishements. IOW "and if we can't expel him, kill him!!!"
Is THAT your stupid position?
This is ridiculous. It reminds me of "Blazing Saddles", when Mel Brooks complains he's not getting enough "Harrumphs" out of his cronies.
There are two options with "86" that are known and widely understood.
One is anti-democratic because Trump was just elected with a clear majority.
The other option is calling for his murder.
You are the person that is assigning the benign possibility to James Comey. You are pretending that James Comey is just an oaf who wants Trump peacefully removed from office.
Considering that Comey broke numerous laws leaking information to the press and lying to the courts to get surveillance warrants you are the stupid person for trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.
It is people like you that give people like James Comey space to subvert our Republic.
Scott Patton said... Achilles said... "If you are arguing for their good character you are part of the problem at this point." Then it's a good thing I wasn't doing anything like that.
Yes you are.
I think that given the chance to get away with it, Comey and many others like him would kill Trump in a heartbeat.
Obvious truth.
All I'm saying is, I've heard "86" used many times. Never once did I hear it meaning or insinuating murder.
There are clearly two standard uses for this term. Without any context some people will think one way and some people will think another. Your pretending there are no examples of the murder option are just silly. There are posts right here on this thread.
And we have some fucking context. Trump has already been shot by these people. Comey knew exactly what he was saying and he belongs in jail.
You are not being smart here. You are not posting a "reasonable" point of view. You are prevaricating and providing space for these people to continue with their violence and there agitation until they finally succeed in killing Trump which is their clear and obvious goal.
The Comey phone metadata could, if not definitely provide proof one way or the other, serve to exclude Comey as the creator of the shell/rock assassination call. If was Comey I would offer to make it public. Although his lawyers would probably advise against it.

"If a former Trump cabinet official had posted “8646” while Biden was in office, the entire D.C. ecosystem would’ve melted down. DOJ investigations. FBI raids. MSNBC specials. USSSA did not drag-in South Afrikaner immigrant Elon Musk, who has never been subjected to security clearance investigation, to question him about his Nazi Salute. Why did they feel it necessary to question Jim Comey who was granted the highest security clearance possible?
…it’s all moot…except for exposing people making weak arguments. Comey might get a stern talking to and that’ll be it. Anything more and the Hawaiian judges that run everything will intervene….
…you know that Hawaiian judge label really makes sense on another level. My Hawaiian friend says five families control everything on the islands- who gets to build what, who gets to go where…everything. The judges are just an extension of that power. The left is correct when they claim we’re run by a dictator but they don’t recognize who it is…

They would have to drag Obama, Hillary, AOC, Bernie and a slew of other Democrats in for giving the Nazi salute too then, because there are pictures of many of these Democrats giving the same salute as Elon did, and little Gad has been silent about THEM.
Achilles & The White House dismissed the downgrade and lashed out at Mark Zandi, Moody’s chief economist.
“Nobody takes his ‘analysis’ seriously. He has been proven wrong time and time again.”
Zandi was not an author of this report and works for Moody’s Analytics, a separate part of the company that is not part of its ratings business.
We're all encouraged to see Achilles and the Trump team acting to reassure the markets with their usual level of competence.
Maybe they should have kept the IRS fully staffed so we could actually collect taxes. Trump is going to have massive unfunded tax cuts to try and revive his popularity. And his chief economic adviser still wants to institute a default.
I am sure a massive tax cut for the wealthy, blowing up the deficit even further, will surely help the debt rating.
As I said last year, the downgrade has been long overdue if objectively assessed based on most matrix of indicators for credit worthiness of the U.S. government bonds.
Elon Musk, who has never been subjected to security clearance investigation
What makes you claim a false statement like that? The guy launches ICBMs that can land within 10m square. You think he's doing that without a security clearance? Why don't you quit opining about subjects you know absolutely nothing about, botfly?
yes Zandi signed off on all the bad debt until 2008, of course he didn't react that way to 7 trillion dollars in monopoly money, our portion of our debt actually went down in the last few months,
There are more important things going on than Comey and his seashells. He likes attention. He's getting it. He's drawing eyes away from what we should be focused on - it would be useful if I knew what that was. I don't. I just feel like this is distraction for its own sake.

To be clear, we are not being hypocritical about speech. It is the opposite. We want a single standard. We think Comey should face the justice he brought to others.
It appears to me that if the Democrats want Trump dead right now (i.e., early) in his 47 Administration, then (in part) they must be effectively writing off electoral success in 2028 in lieu of forestalling J.D. Vance from being eligible for reelection to a 3rd term as President in 2032. Or else they're not “thinking” at all.
All this kerfluffle about what "86" means. Well. We're going to find out because it looks like Comey is "helping" the Secret Service with their inquiries. Wouldn't want to be James today.
This will add to the drum beat of pension funds pulling back from US on their US treasury allocations. The combination of 1 1 tariff see-saw uncertainty 2 Trump family self dealing and corruption and 3 US legal system being undermined, make it natural to shift 5-20%+ savings from US to elsewhere.
Japan, Europe and China will be the biggest beneficiaries. US mortgage owners and businesses the biggest losers as US rates go up.

Spacex is ITAR. It is also involved in launching military satellites. I guarantee Musk has been through the wringer.
Not to mention he is providing the entire military communications network in Ukraine.

You know that we spray and dip, one-eight-seven, eighty-six"
(187 is police code for homicide or murder. Per Genius, "'86,' is slang and is a term used when trying to get rid of something, or someone.")

Dave East "Paranoia" (2017)
"Eighty-six a n---a for a brick"
(Per Genius "Eighty-sixing refers to killing or disposing of one whereas a brick refers to a pound (usually) of cocaine which is shaped in the form of a brick. Here, one is getting killed over a pound of cocaine.")

Looking for more, I found this from the 2003 New Broadway Cast recording of "Little Shop of Horrors":
"[AUDREY II, spoken]
You didn't have nothin' 'til you met me
Come on, kid, what'll it be? Money? Girls? One particular girl? How 'bout that Audrey? Think it over...
There must be someone you could eighty-six, real quiet-like, and get me some lunch!"
Emphasis added.

Scott Patton-
We all know that Comey wants Trump gone, as in no longer president.
I always thought it was “deep six”.
I could have sworn that the press themselves use 86 as slang for canceling a story, also known as killing the story.
Isn't it in The Front Page or some other newsie flick?
I could be hallucinating....

Do you really believe Comey found that assassination message?
I don't know. Nothing would surprise me either way. How many Trump haters are within a mile of Comey at any given time? I'm not even saying that isn't what he meant.
I'm not saying it isn't an assassination message.(Is there a word for an IRL meme?)
I just saw a sticker on a car door of Calvin (common cartoon) peeing on the word "Trump".

Totally plausible. Long shot , but in any case, playing on the beech is fun.
I'm stretching my point, but the fact that apparently, "86" is almost never actually used to mean murder only enhances the deniability.
Data Republican: finds:
EXPOSED: Soros, the Deep State & the Shadow Network 💥🔥
And, of course, if you repeat 6 three times fast, the Devil's got ahold of you :-(
Scott-
I think we are arriving at the same point from different directions.
I'm open to having missed alternative interpretations that Comey may want to have us infer, but however many there may be, his favored one will be my #5. Does anyone believe that Comey would be happy if Trump decides to resign to spend more time with his family?
There is mens rea there.
Jim Comey is a dangerous villan for displaying "86 47" in an instagram social media post.
We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the stars we could reach
Were just starfish on the beach
Comey's other beach message was his support for puppet-moron Kamala.

It is time the Court was dissolved and we return the country to pre Madison v. Marbury sanity.

What the fuck is it with you?
First, the Supremes did not "say" what you said.
Second, the Supreme Court cannot be dissolved, at least not without a Constitutional Amendment passed by Congress and ratified by the States.
Or the States could call a Convention to do that, and/or to revise the entire document.
But no one, no House of Congress, and no POTUS can to that.
Jeebus, you might trying to READ and UNDERSTAND our founding document before soiling yourself night after night on this blog.
So...harrumph the night away!

Yes they did. They said that if a District court "Judge" feels it is an "Emergency" they can issue any TRO they deem fit.
Second, the Supreme Court cannot be dissolved, at least not without a Constitutional Amendment passed by Congress and ratified by the States.
Fine then. Impeach them all instead.
Remove every "Judge" that decided that District Court "Judges" have final say over Article II authority whenever they deem it an "Emergency."

Comey’s living proof
The Comey phone metadata could, if not definitely provide proof one way or the other, serve to exclude Comey as the creator of the shell/rock assassination call. If was Comey I would offer to make it public. Although his lawyers would probably advise against it.
About how long would it take to make the formation, assuming you never done it before.

"When a former FBI director posts “8647,” in this climate, after three attempts on Trump’s life, he’s not joking. He’s throwing gasoline on a fire that’s already burning. And he’s doing it from the platform of elite power, wrapped in the smugness of Beltway privilege.
9-0 Court tells Administration to facilitate correction of an admitted mistake. Just too difficult for these bozos to make an effort.
gadfly?
question Elon Musk about WHAT?
WHEN did Elon Musk declare his wish/intention; to 86 the President?
Are you coherent?
what day is this?
what city are you in?
how many animals can you name, that start with the letter B?
i'm worried about you
I'm tired of this shit from people supposedly on my side of the aisle.

The right is spun up about the former director of the FBI cutely posting a pic about offing Trump.
If you - on the right (from your fainting couch) can't see the difference? Stay out of the fight.
We don't need you.

It's interesting. 86 means the kitchen is out of a dish, so customers can't order it.
Yes, to remove it from the menu of possible options. To “kill it” as a dish.
‘Missing’ Biden’s enfeeblement? I wouldn’t say I’ve been missing it, Bob…
..to remove it from the menu of possible options. To “kill it” as a dish.
yep,
1st, the kitchen runs out of salmon..
2nd, the cook yells out "86 the salmon"
3rd, the wait staff ERASE the salmon from the menu.
86 means; remove, erase, get rid off.
can some genius here, tell me WHAT ELSE, it could POSSIBLY mean?
ps. it does NOT mean:
impeach the salmon..
vote the salmon off the menu..
rally together and refuse to order the salmon..
seriously; WHAT do you geniuses think it means:
i'd like to hear?
i'm writing this after 3 years of being a professional dishwasher.
I have often heard to “deep 6” something is to bury it. I think of 8 as infinity. 86 means to bury something so as never to be found.
Why don't you quit opining about subjects you know absolutely nothing about, botfly?
yes Zandi signed off on all the bad debt until 2008, of course he didn't react that way to 7 trillion dollars in monopoly money,
our portion of our debt actually went down in the last few months,
There are more important things going on than Comey and his seashells.

Does Moody’s US downgrade matter?
This will add to the drum beat of pension funds pulling back from US on their US treasury allocations. The combination of 1 1 tariff see-saw uncertainty
2 Trump family self dealing and corruption and
3 US legal system being undermined, make it natural to shift 5-20%+ savings from US to elsewhere.
Japan, Europe and China will be the biggest beneficiaries. US mortgage owners and businesses the biggest losers as US rates go up.
