"Of course, I've said I I look back at my coverage with humility and and uh I wish I did cover the issues of age and acuity but I wish I had covered them much more and I wish I mean of course..."
Watch the whole video, please, and see how Jake Tapper treated Lara Trump when she was a guest on his show on October 18, 2020. Kelly shows the video clip in which Lara Trump called attention to Biden's lack of mental acuity — the subject of Tapper's new book — and Tapper accused her of mocking Biden's stutter.
Watch Tapper's face and listen to his voice as he berates her for her lack of empathy. That's very effective on many women. Not on Lara Trump, but on many women, including many viewers of Tapper's show, and I presume he knows it. You can do a lot of subordinating of women by stimulating our fear that we may be regarded as unkind.

This empathy stuff makes me so angry. We're not supposed to feel sorry for the Goddamn President of the USA. He's suppposed to be Leading us. Comforting us. No one asked Biden to be POTUS. He decided at age 78 to push everyone else aside so he could do the job. Biden's "stutter" seems to come and go. I've never even noticed it.
One reason I've always disliked George HW Bush is he demanded to be POTUS, asked everyone to vote for him, and then after 3-4 years, decided it was just too boring. Remember him looking at his Goddamn watch during the debate? And per his biography, he was telling insiders how boring it was after the "excitement" of the Gulf war, and wondering whether he wanted to keep doing it.
Megyn Kelly is a real journalist. She performed like the lawyer that she is. She completed exposed and destroyed Tapper. Tapper was an idiot to agree to appear on her show.
I have a young, blonde female lawyer friend. People underestimate her all the time to their regret.
We need something like the Warren Commission to find out what the hell happened. We need Dr. Jill under oath.
Legal question: Is the husband-wife privilege still applicable under the crime-fraud exception?
There was no coverup. It was always obvious to everybody. What it was was an entertaining fiction, which is all the news is. The news need eyeballs. They sell them to advertisers.
Which fiction do you like? Left or (now) right. Since the right has brought in more people, the average IQ has necessarily gone down, and it shows.
When the right was Wm F Buckley, it was the high IQ wing.
Can any credible reporter claimed to “not know” about Biden’s decline? It was obvious to probably three quarters of the commenters here going back to his campaign. Are we that much smarter than them?
Oof. What a book rollout. The look on both of their faces says all that you need to know.
Again I revert back to my 'random 13 year old on the street' standard.
Any random 13 year old could have watched Joe Biden, or videos of Joe Biden and told you that is an old man who is not capable of running a shoe store right now. Perhaps he should not be given the office of President of the United States?
Any random kid could have seen Biden and come to the proper conclusion. That an entire cadre of grown, educated adults could look at the same thing and not see it, is nothing more than party loyalty- willful blindness.
And now they are all either lecturing us on how to be empathetic, or denying that the 'clues' were there.
The least curious people in history- our journalist class- has yet to ask: Just who was running the United States over those years? How is it possible that Joe Biden, who barely campaigned for the 2020 election, got more votes than anyone prior, including the Sainted One, Barack Obama?
Do these people realize what they've done to our country? To the world at large? Oct. 7 in Israel. Ukraine/Russia? Our own open borders and closed down economy during covid? The development of the Censorship Industrial Complex?
Do the people of this country realize how evil this entire operation was/is?
There should be a line of handcuffed people perp walked into jail in a few months. But there won't be. Instead, in a few months, or longer, we'll have long coverage of the State funeral for Joe Biden, complete with more rewriting of history, of what a grand guy he really was. Corn Pop may even show up to give a eulogy.
Vance would be the emblem of the low IQ right, which is what he plays to.
Trump plays to the crowd but at the same time to language-trick scholars, epithet poets, which is what he entertains himself with talking to.
Don RIckles for instance.
My wife and I watched Kelly’s interview of Tapper and his sidekick Thompson. She did well, Tapper did not. Despite his claims of humility seasoned with a dollop of regret, Tapper came across like the operative with a byline that he is. Tapper, like the rest of his ilk, is full of shit.
They were all in on it.
Bleeding eyeballs Megyn Kelly, another career opportunist. LIke grab them by the pussy Althouse, not the sharpest political analyst.
Tapper said he didn’t think he covered up for Biden, then after shown the Lara Trump segment, he said he called her and apologized for his treatment of her. He is inconsistent, to stay the least.
Aside from the rest of the questions surrounding this, I would like to know how Tapper intends to cover Democrats going forward. What exactly has he learned, and if he’s genuinely humbled, how will he prove it?
She nailed him and despite my slight dislike of her (she can be a "mean girl" towards a lot of women) she does have a pretty good podcast. This one is a keeper. Watching her corner him and pounce on his weaselly answers is delicious.
And she is a fearless journalist. It's hilarious to watch officially "non-partisan" Democrat operatives like Jake pretend to be "real journalists" unable to defend their willful blindness. And others like him have mocked her for both giving her opinion at times AND digging up original reporting. She's been very honest about her changing opinion of Trump over time.
I doubt Jake from Handgun Control Inc to CNN has ever been honest. I am enjoying his book tour for all the wrong reasons.
I wish Althouse would read some Vicki Hearne (Adam's Task is a good start) for how a woman can contribute with her intuitions, namely as a slight needle in an essay what nevertheless understands what men are about, just pointing out a deadly oversight when it happens. No women's rights, no women can do it too, just doing what women can do if operating correctly.

I'll say again - these people were in the rooms, watching the behavior and listening to the speech that we, the benighted public, only got in forms edited by them. Of course they knew.
Despite his claims of humility seasoned with a dollop of regret...
Thank you for reminding me. When he said "There's a lot of humility," I was yelling at the screen "but not from you!" That's why he used the passive voice. Because there is a lot of humility out there but none of it evident in Tapper's words or deeds. He really expected his fellow reporters to grant him a huge whoopsie/do-over I guess.
Welcome to the world of accountability Tapper!
Surprised there's not a more recent Tapper clip than October 2020 before Biden was president. Did he not cover it between then and 2024?
Tapper is a lying dog pony soldier... always has been.
"I blew with the prevailing winds. I wanted to maintain favor with those in power. Those winds have changed, and now I feel to blow with the new winds. But above all, I want to retain my credibility which I believe I have earned and deserve, and which I, in fact, demand."
I'll say again - these people were in the rooms, watching the behavior and listening to the speech that we, the benighted public, only got in forms edited by them. Of course they knew.
Yes, the way Ace puts it is we all saw it, and they all saw it, but the pretense is they couldn't report on it until it was "confirmed by the White House." Of course it's all ridiculous. I'll just point out that the standard for verifying Trump stories is far less rigorous, obviously.
Pointing out the hypocrisy of tapper and the MSM is always useful but... 90 percent of journalists and network execs and newspaper editors are liberal/left Democrats. They are putting out DNC propaganda - not news. Expecting Jake Tapper to be a "Newsman" out for "the truth" is a fools game.
Remember how Tapper and others were so interested in Trump's mental state and results of his physicals? All that went away when Biden became POTUS. Because if it was bad news, Tapper and the MSM didn't want to hear it.
As Althouse states, the most important thing isn't "Poor ol' Joe Biden" its "who the hell was actually POTUS for 4 years?"
Jake should fire his crisis manager and hire Quayle. That fake quote at 8:10 is spot on.
And its nice that Megan Kelly is being somewhat confrontational. But i'll never forget she wouldn't touch the election Fraud, or the J6 fraud, and was asking Trump about ridiculous charges of sexual harrassment in 2015, instead of substantive questions. She burned her bridges to Fox News, because she was off to the "Big time" at ABC/NBC/CBS. How'd that work out for her?
Not on Lara Trump …
And not my sweet wife and not any other Republican woman I know (or see on TV).
Speaking of Lara Trump, Jake Tapper tells Megyn Kelly that he’s already apologized to her. Has anybody thought to ask Lara Trump whether that’s even true?
Tapper's condemnation of Lara Trump was quite public. Shouldn't the apology have been as well for it to mean anything?
I would actually add, whenever there's an apology or a correction coming from the MSM, until the unique viewers of the apology/correction exceed the unique viewers of the original false story, the apology/correction should be considered not accepted/not corrected.
I, for one, am glad Jake Tapper has publicly revealed how utterly incompetent and dishonest he has always been by writing a book in an attempt to scrounge a few pennies. Watching him become a laughing-stock gives me great joy.
Humility my ass. Tapper is lying, he knows he's lying, and he knows we know he's lying.
Megan Kelly is very, very, good. I watch portions of her podcast frequently, and the woman is incredibly intelligent, and honest. Love her.
You can do a lot of subordinating of women by stimulating our fear that we may be regarded as unkind.
And not merely subordinating them. This kind of tactic allies them, weaponizes them against others they now perceive as bullies. Men are subordinated and allied as well because they don't want to perceived as a bully and want to be the guy who calls out the bully. These newly created allies fight righteously, but mindlessly for the cause. Being anti-bully, anti-Trump and anti- Trump supporter in this case, becomes much more than a political position, it becomes part of their identity on an emotional level. That's something that's very difficult to dislodge.
It's why the media have constantly labeled Trump a bully even though they rarely cite any examples of his supposed bullying. Remember when they accused him of mocking a disabled reporter? Trump walked right into that punch, but he learned.
who is this tapper fellow you speak off, I've loathed him for 25 years, when he tried to help the Democrats steal Florida, one might call him an election denier, one of a whole crop that included the late Vincent Bugliosi Dershowitz, the Mouth of the Flint River Michael Moore and a host of other slithy toves
Tapper knows damn well that had he "pressed" Joe Biden, his career would have come to a screeching halt. These people live nice comfortable lives, well compensated, get a table at the best restaurants same day, get invited to parties with A-list celebrities, etc, etc... It all amounts to a boot on their neck. I remember when Tapper was kind of non partisan, I remember, before Obama, thinking that he was one of the semi decent ones. But do you think that he will have the same access to Democratic insider circles after this? I don't.
Everybody knew Biden was too old and mentally infirm, by the end of 2021 at the latest. But the larger truth, captured by Tapper's treatment of Lara Trump, is that the 21st Century MSM is never going to do anything to undermine a Democrat President or candidate. The reality is that the profit model of MSM outlets has reinforced a pre-existing bias: CNN, NBC, NYT and WaPo all depend on news as narrative for a dwindling liberal/Progressive audience. (Fox News cornering the market for conservative/populist viewers just reinforces this business model for the others.) As for the Democrat Party holding its own President or candidate to any standard other than "whatever it takes to win" forget about it. If Joe had ducked the debate and somehow squeaked out a victory, none of this would be coming out. Them's just the facts.
Megyn missed the larger question. Why does the media continually propagate false Progressive narratives with no pushback? In the last 8 years we have seen this with Russiagate, “all fine people”, Covid, Hunter’s laptop, and Dementiagate.
After all this why should people of Tapper’s ilk be taken seriously?
At one point Tapper said he would not have liars on his show yet he continues to host Adam Schiff. Why?
"I would like to know how Tapper intends to cover Democrats going forward."
That is an easy question to answer- from inside any powerful Democrat's rectum.
he can't look at himself in the mirror, like a vampire,
I look back at my coverage with humility
He kept saying that. He didn't say he humiliated himself, no, he paid himself a compliment, describing his humility. What a douche.
Tapper is one those maddening people who, no matter how reprehensible their behavior, no matter how much damage they've done, can turn absolutely anything into another reason to think well of themselves.
On her podcast, Megyn Kelly puts out "happy warrior" energy. She is smart, fierce and informed.
Megyn explained how she and Jake Tapper are friends. I don't get it. Tapper's dismissive bullying of Lara Trump is shameful.
Reporters didn't just miss Biden's decline, they helped maintain the lie. We need to know who was our acting president for four years.
Yes, my memory of 'Me-again' Kelly is long enough to remember when she wasn't quite so fearless, and once you see a craven 'go-along' you lose a lot of respect. But I'm glad she's redeeming herself.
As for Tapper's ilk, they're frantic to rebuild credibility before the run-up to Mid-terms, but I have my doubts. They're going to have to abase themselves, admit that they were wrong and show they understand how they were wrong, because the public will not forgive them until they see contrition.
Because contrition is the leverage to be held over their head when they start doing it again. It's the only confrontation that works: Being reminded, with evidence, that you've been wrong before, and that you admitted it.
Tapper is smart enough to understand that the public has wised up; he's trying to get through the process of 'admitting it' with minimal damage. The dumber ones are in the process of 'not making it'.
This whole thing that has boiled over about Biden's infirmity is a distraction and a misdirection. As bad as it is, this is what the left prefers to talk about.
As a school teacher for 50+ years let's use my rule of thumb for telling if a student is lying and apply it to the MSM.
Is their mouth moving?
If their mouth is moving, they're lying.

1. Maybe the fact that someone who is confrontational and is definitely pro Trump does not pump the 2020 election denial narrative should make you rethink your beliefs.
2. Questions of character are always substantive.
3. She walked away from NBC with a rumored $60M settlement. She has one of the top podcasts. If Joe Rogan is a guidepost she is doing quite well there. In addition her company is putting out more podcasts. I would say it has worked out quite well for her.

Yes, they could have just asked their anonymous sources.
"I asked him about Putin..."
Of course, you did your part as a propagandist to push his precious war.
Oh wow. The stutter thing is absolutely the "How many fingers!!" bit from 1984. I usually don't watch videos where I know exactly where they are going, but that was worth it.
Trapper and the rest of the MSM who carried water for the Democrats are now engaging in Richard Pryor's "Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?" strategy. Some call that gaslighting, but really, it's just blazingly lying. They then wonder who so few people believe them anymore. It's almost impossible to regain your credibility once you've squandered it.
He publicly strongly implied that Lara was lying, and privately apologized.
As mentioned above, Kelly has a mean girl vibe that can be very off-putting, but she comes prepared for interviews and is a real journalist. She did a great job in this podcast/interview. Listen to the whole thing.
Don Jr's suggesting the Joe Biden is a pedophile has aged pretty well, too. Biden's own son called him "Pedo Pete." Amazing that Tapper refused to look into that.
Smoke comes out of my ears when I hear the excuse that Dems were "willfully blind" or "lying to theselves". Who is this other persona who is blindfolding or lying to their "real" selves? They knew the truth perfectly well, and they preferred Biden senile to Trump energetic.

That may not be entirely true. If Jake Tapper had used an interview on December 2023 to rake Biden over the coals, he might have gotten fired. But he might have forced a primary, and the Rats would nominate someone more lucid than FJB. All of the Democrat stenographers know they could have been heroes. Now they will have to live with the fact they enabled a victory by President Trump for the rest of their lives.
Jake Tapper: “Alex and I are here to say the conservative media was right and conservative media was correct and that there should be a lot of soul searching, not just among me, but among the legacy media.”

This just in: fitty cent per gallon gas tax increase in Caliunicornia and beware the wolves on the moors of Natomas!
Trapper Jake.
I'm listening to the Megyn Kelly interview, and a point jumped out that I haven't heard yet: topper says that when he was named moderator of the disastrous debate, he made an attempt to ensure that his reporting was "fairly vanilla." I wish Megan would have pressed him on that - because it certainly implies that before that moment, his reporting was not fairly vanilla.
I mean, as we are all saying here, it beggars belief that he and the rest of the Washington press corps didn't know that Biden's mind was on its way out years before the debate. So, it doesn't add a lot to that knowledge to point out that he just copped to it with that one line. But in the interview, he denies repeatedly that his coverage of Trump was different from his coverage of Biden, that his standards of journalistic evidence were different, that he willfully ignored signs so obvious that even I, who do not watch television news, couldn't escape the so-called cheap fakes that can't be interpreted as anything other than exactly what they were unless the object is to cover up exactly what they were.
But I do get that Kelly has a relatively time-delimited podcast and also that she had made her point in spades by that time.
College basketball is a game of runs. Up 10; down 10.
So the way to deal with that is when you are up: Step on their throats.
We conservatives need to jam this Biden coverup and health scandal down the throats of the Dems and the Fake News.
We must get big majorities in both houses and drive the Fake News into BK and irrelevance. And, of course, hold the Presidency for the next 16 years after Trump's term ends.
Slow Joe aside, just how batshit crazy is Jill Biden?
The main character in this story is not Joe Biden. The main character in this story is how the media missed another story about the most covered and followed person in the world. Knowing what we believe to know so far, and that’s how I can best phrase it in my mind, knowing there still stuff they are probably keeping from us, I believe now that I knew more about Putin’s health in Russia than I did about my own president. This ought to illicit some rancour because the only explanation for this is that the number one job of the media is not to tell us what is going on. If we’re not informed about what is going on how can we be expected to get the best people to represent us?
Trump is not an existential crisis. The press constantly falling down on the job is the crisis. I expect politicians to lie to us and I expect the press to catch’m. It’s not rocket science.
I don't think many of the The View's viewers will be in a big hurry to read Tapper's book. Tapper's target audience is the same as Kelly's. If he wants to sell the book, he has no choice but to appear on her podcast. He knew what was coming and handled it about as well as he could. He'll sell some books, and lots of people will watch her interview. Win-win for everybody.
Lem, the media didn't miss it. They hid it. Tapper tries very hard to keep pushing the fool and not knave view of himself and much of the media, but Kelly spends a lot of time pointing out that there was reporting coming from the right-leaning media all along - and that the left-leaning media, that is, most of the media, chose, made the editorial decision, not to pursue those stories. In fact they went farther than that. They worked actively to discount those stories, to ridicule the reporting, to distract the public with non sequiturs, to draw an equivalency between Biden and Trump based on number of years on this Earth rather than on demonstrated behavior.
They may be fools, but this story and the accompanying books demonstrate very clearly that they are also knaves. And as I've said before, I cannot for the life of me understand why our resident lefties still believe anything they say, when the proof is in controvertible that they have no credibility.
If only John Wayne Gacy had looked back with humility on his past habit of murdering children and burying them in the basin, we could all have moved forward and learned a valuable lesson. Gacy was by all accounts an accomplished clown, and it was a shame to have deprived so many children of his services. Let's not make the same mistake with Jake Tapper.
Clown nose on, knives out?
Robert De Niro is not a mob boss, but those were his most memorable roles. There's something about him that's very convincing when he plays a mob boss. Something like that goes on with Jake Tapper. He plays the part of the honest, concerned witness to the events of our times. He furrows his brow just so. He looks puzzled and concerned and, when appropriate, skeptical. If it's an act, it's method acting. He's got the sincerity thing down pat.......Well, people believe what they want to believe. The Pope wants to believe that Catholicism offers the correct path to Heaven. Tapper believes that the Democratic Party offers the way to peace and progress. The Pope, however, is somewhat more up front about his biases, and would not presume to interfere in the selection of the next Dalai Lama.

Tapper is a part of a Regime that tried to install a fascist regime in the US and failed.
Now Tapper wants to avoid consequences.
Tapper should be tried for sedition and executed publicly with thousands of other people who were a part of this conspiracy.

Tapper is just one of the first rats to turn on the other rats.
Tapper deserves to hang.
The Biden cabal WAS fascist
“This is stupid”
Someone had to say it.
Lefty Charlie obviously carefully curates his news intake to the point where he didn't bother watching the segment where the question of "Why did you ask where the guest of honor was at her memorial service?"
Sure, if you block out all of the stuff you don't like, you can make a case for almost anything. Speaking of the Charles River, If you watch enough Larry Bird videos on YouTube, you will be mystified as to how the Celtics ever lost a game while he was playing. How long did it take you to come up with that scenario, carefully tiptoeing around all of the evidence that was plain to see for people who got their news from places aside from NPR.
"You can do a lot of subordinating of women by stimulating our fear that we may be regarded as unkind."
Oh, it's "subordination", is it? So, it's not that women are so stupid they felt sorry for the asshole lying to them. Jake Tapper "subordinated" those poor, empathetic ladies? Doh, little Joey gots a stammer! It's mean to ask him hard questions!
Look, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this one. Maybe women are soft-hearted, not soft-headed. Either way, they shouldn't be allowed to vote.
Tapper recognizes he can do all the subordinating of college educated white women he wants because he knows they will not waver in the support his political goals…
To this who listened or viewed: Tapper’s case (to me) is delicious. He wants it both ways - save his own ass today + retain future access to power.
MK tore him a new one. With these “Elite-est of the Elite” types, there is something they seethingly refer to as “conservative media.” Why bother then, Jake, to go to that place you have never been, the far-right hellhole… to its best operator? A place you have never been and do not understand, and try to sell your bullshit product?
THAT’s how big that ego is. (There was some nice-making about the two being friends. Not a chance he’s still her friend, after that pounding.)
A final point: He was media-trained, messaged-up ("humility") for this interview. You could at times feel the effort he made not to just Go Off on her. He wanted to, badly. You chose this fate, moron. I bet his Crisis PR Firm told him: Do not go on with MK.
Since the right has brought in more people, the average IQ has necessarily gone down, and it shows.
Yet, "In the last 8 years we have seen this with Russiagate, “all fine people”, Covid, Hunter’s laptop, and Dementiagate."
Not to mention school closings, the spending of trillions on the misnamed Infrastructure Bill, Defund the police will lower crime, the withdrawal from Afghanistan was a success, the border is secure, and on and on.
These topics are swallowed whole and regurgitated by the oh-so-bright left.
Maybe we just need to explain to women that when you vote for Communists, it hurts our feelings, and then they'll stop. Ya think? Or maybe women only feel sorry for manipulative assholes.
Tapper was that bad when he was a WH report er. He would confront Democratic Press Secretaries on occasion. That shit changed when he got an anchor desk, he was all in to support the DNC regardless of who was in office.
Years ago I got into it with him (I think on Twitter) over some bullshit he was trying to pull. He really couldn't defend his position and when I called him on his hypocrisy he just blocked me. I don't think he is very smart and is certainly a pussy.
Tapper tried to defend himself saying that they were asking questions and people were lying to him or not answering. But the question MK didn't pose to him that she should have is, "Why wasn't THAT your story then?" How can he say he saw the signs and asked the questions and got bad answers and NOT report that he was getting bad or no answers? That's the story! If it had been any Republican you would have made that the story. It's not enough to say you couldn't get anyone to talk about it.
As bad as it is, this is what the left prefers to talk about.
Hell no they would LOVE to talk about Trump's troubles and how he's stealing your Social Security etc. BUT the Biden news keeps coming and it has the added benefit of entangling the whole Democrat party and their DNC operatives in the Media who helpfully self-identified by ignoring the evidence we all saw (just like fake Jake). Every elected member of Congress who interacted with Biden. It's such a vast conspiracy that Hillary is pondering a new way to describe such a wide-ranging conspiratorial effort.
... but it looks far more likely that he saw but chose to be part of the coverup:
That's because he did, and he was
@ Chris-2-4
Good point well stated.
It's like Tapper's position was, we couldn't report that the WH was hiding something unless the White House confirmed it.
Maybe the commies will lose the midterms. They’re drowning
... but it looks far more likely that he saw but chose to be part of the coverup
I think that’s too generous a description that implies he was an innocent who later learned instead of the perps knew before they began Tapper was and would be an active participant in the deception…
"When the right was Wm F Buckley, it was the high IQ wing."
Yeah, high IQ losers. But then "True Conservatives" like Losertarians, aren't about getting elected and using power to do anything. The important thing is sound smart and bask in the liberal/left applause.
The "True Conservatives" and losertarians are the Fredo wing of the Republican party. ""I'm smart! Not like everybody says... about Rightwingers... I'm smart and I want Liberal/left respect!"
I want this story to have long, long legs for two reasons. First, the midterms: I think Trump's agenda may take longer than a year and a half to show positive results for the new people who voted for him (I do think it would ultimately have those positive results, provided he gets a whole term to work it out), and there's no chance of any progress - only serial impeachments - if we lose the House.
But second and far more importantly, how is the complicity of the media in propping up a puppet President anything other than the biggest conspiracy and scandal of - at least the last hundred years? Yet I very much doubt my in-laws know the first thing about it, and I suspect my parents, to the extent that they know anything, think it's like the leftist take on The Laptop: the scandal is simply that in the summer of 2024, Biden's cognitive abilities took a dive and the Democrat PTB had to scramble to react. I don't know what my kids have heard, but it won't be the actual story. What our friends on the left have heard - well, since the left-leaning (supermajority of the) media is very much circling the wagons and throwing all the blame on The Five Ministers and Biden himself, I'm going to say it's unlikely that they're considering the clear fact that the media lied to them. For years. Unabashedly. And would again.
Now they will have to live with the fact they enabled a victory by President Trump for the rest of their lives.
It's not just that they helped Trump get elected by propping Biden up for too long. They helped Trump get elected by proving to everyone watching that they absolutely considered it their duty to KEEP Trump for being reelected BAMN. And those "any means" including lighting their own reputations and the reputation of the entire field of journalism on fire and then pouring gasoline on themselves.

Legal question: Is the husband-wife privilege still applicable under the crime-fraud exception?"
Who cares? Put her up there and put her under oath. if she wants to generate hours of video where she's asked about what she did, what she knew, and when she knew it, and she's constantly answering "I refuse to answer that question", I'm ok with that.
And it still won't protect her from questions about what the aides did
how is the complicity of the media in propping up a puppet President anything other than the biggest conspiracy and scandal of - at least the last hundred years
…when it has to compete with the same cabal using a government created virus to fuel a medical panic needed as a tool to facilitate widespread voter fraud and steal an election.
Trump is not an existential crisis. The press constantly falling down on the job is the crisis. I expect politicians to lie to us and I expect the press to catch’m. It’s not rocket science.
The press falling down is not a crisis, because the press (meaning the traditional media) is largely irrelevant. Their duplicity has made them the news instead of what they are supposed to be reporting on. Their actual news coverage is superfluous given all the information available from more reliable sources.
Their "coverup" was about as successful as the emperor with his new clothes. Everyone knew, everyone knew they knew, and those pretending to take the bait were just playing along in the hope that the Democrats would succeed in stopping Trump, which was all they cared about.
A big question is why didn’t our biggest adversaries use the opportunity to attack us. I guess Putin took advantage. I mean these clowns in the WH said their aim was for regime change in Moscow. Another bullet dodged.
"A big question is why didn’t our biggest adversaries use the opportunity to attack us."
Maybe because it's all scare tactics to frighten us into submission to their demands on us for our sons, and for our money, and for us to look the other way from their crimes...
Naah!
Putin made deal after deal with us to avoid the war, and we kept breaking them, ignoring treaties, backing the takeover of neighboring countries by extremists.
Never mind the neo nazis in Ukraine, we also have admitted to putting Islamic terrorists in charge of Afghanistan, in 1979, to provoke an invasion there. Then we lied about it, and chortled that people believe the lies.
We almost certain backed the Islamic terrorists in Chechnya to create a war for the Russians to deal with there.
So I guess that "I feel humility" is the new "Yeah, I lied and I was a part of the coverup."
Maybe Lara Trump should have Jake Tapper's job if she was able to see through the BS and Tapper couldn't.
no that was a ISI General Intelligence play
Lara is a jewel, and good at politics. Of the whole Trump family, she is the only one I would want to see getting into the ring as a future candidate. Maybe Barron will make something of himself, but until then, Lara is my girl.
rehajm - I consider the COVID reaction, like the constant undermining and impeachments of Trump in his first term and the questionable doings of the 2020 election, to be part of the same scandal: the supposedly independent press, the vaunted Fourth Estate, our shield and sword against the predations of faceless institutions that thrive on our blood and sweat, is so far in the tank for the Democrat side that they'll do pretty much anything to hurt a Republican and/or benefit a Democrat. Including spectacularly destroy themselves for a momentary Democrat advantage.
The gambit failed in this past election, so they're trying to rehabilitate themselves by appealing to our sympathies in the only way they can: "we were fooled too!" - in hopes that if they repeat it loudly and frequently enough, we'll forget that we weren't fooled at all*, and we realize that there's no way they were either.
* We didn't have all the details, so that's one thing the tell-alls can provide. But we all knew Biden was impaired and getting worse. I'm starting to have just a little sympathy for KJP.
Maybe the commies will lose the midterms. They’re drowning
They were counting on using all that sweet USAID graft to beat us. They're going to have a much harder time winning than people may think, because for decades they have been stealing our money and using it to enslave and oppress us, and those days are now over.

Go suck yourself.
Budapest Accords 1994 define the borders of Ukraine. Putin violated those.
Pretending that you can trust him to follow a new treaty while he's violating the old one is something you only do if you're a complete fucking moron.
Neither Putin nor Russia have ANY legitimate interest in what's going on inside Ukraine's 1994 Budapest Accords agreed on borders. Neither Putin nor Russia have ANY legitimate interest in whether or not uKrains joined NATO, or was governed by a Putin puppet, or by a worthwhile human being who was NOT a Putin puppet.
Any "ethnic Russian" people living in the borders of Ukraine as defined by the 1994 Budapest Accords is welcome to sell their land and move to Russia.
What they're not welcome to do is to try to make Ukraine more Russian.
Because Russia is a shithole country, Russian political culture sucks, and keeping that from expanding is the goal of every worthwhile human being
Yeah, Wm F Buckley was so high ... IQ that a 21 year old Ann Coulter ate his lunch while he could barely manage not to slide out of his chair between the booze and the hair grease. He was so high ... IQ that he fell for a murderer who raped a child then stomped her head in, just because the killer sent him a fan letter. He got the guy released, and the murderer actually sent him taunting letters about how he was still killing women, and, even lower than Norman Mailer and his own pet murderer, he lacked the decency to even admit he was wrong to free him. Wm F Buckley was so high ... IQ, that he bragged about his siblings burning a cross on a Jewish neighbor's yard in a book meant to be about anti-Semitism on the Right as he was purging perfectly decent men who were not anti-Semites from National Review and conservatism, using the smear to consolidate his power and establishing the Review as the ur-text of snotty purging and dividing of our movement. I'm entirely convinced he was a lefty spook -- or just too power-hungry and drunk to function.
"I own it." Well, you own the book advance, that's for sure.
Tim in Vermont, Putin's GRU disguised as Chechen terrorists bombed several apartment buildings killing hundreds of Russians to trigger the second Chechen war that won Vlad the presidency.
Something like that goes on with Jake Tapper. He plays the part of the honest, concerned witness to the events of our times. He furrows his brow just so. He looks puzzled and concerned and, when appropriate, skeptical. If it's an act, it's method acting. He's got the sincerity thing down pat......
That sounds like Tucker Carlson and his blank stare - "resting puzzled face." I always got the impression that Tapper was a thug and only feigning "sincerity."
The current order of the day is to feign grief and horror that someone as horrible as Hunter Biden was so powerful. You can hear Jake Tapper expressing his moral outrage about Hunter Biden's character, but how much worse than Jake could Hunter possibly be?
Buckley and the "high IQ right": the putdowns of Republicans and conservatives by Democrats, academics, and the media have been pretty constant over the decades. Eisenhower's, Nixon's, Reagan's and Bush's administrations were dismissed in the same way that Trump's is.
Vance would be the emblem of the low IQ right, which is what he plays to. - rhhardin
Occasionally I'll pause to see if I should keep scrolling past your comments.
Yep.
You know Jake Tapper cares about telling the truth because he went on Megyn Kelly’s show to promote it.
More seriously: I think it is perfectly plausible that Biden was in worse condition than was revealed in public, that his condition was concealed, and that the press was not as diligent in investigating it as they should have been.
However, those responsible for this journalistic failure may not be the best sources to report on it. I’m skeptical that any dishonesty or oversight significantly altered the outcome.
Furthermore, some journalists, like Tapper, seem to use this issue to justify engaging with bad-faith, habitual liars. A partially true accusation does not excuse treating such individuals as credible.
Similarly, the press’s focus on this story often feels like "bothsidesism" and a preference for simpler narratives. In 1933 Germany, the most critical story was not whether Otto Wels was unfit to serve in 1932.
The press should engage in serious self-reflection about their failure to address Biden’s mental capacity. Meanwhile, they seem to overlook Trump’s evident cognitive decline and pronounced personality disorder.
I'm watching now. I wonder how he defines 'humility'.
"You can do a lot of subordinating of women by stimulating our fear that we may be regarded as unkind." What implications does this have for 1. choosing female leaders, and 2. influencing women voters?
"The press should engage in serious self-reflection about their failure to address Biden’s mental capacity. Meanwhile, they seem to overlook Trump’s evident cognitive decline and pronounced personality disorder."
LO F*kng L. Did you write this using a flowchart provided by the DNC? A checklist?
First step: Walk back my previous full throated support of Biden.
Second step: Project Biden's faults onto Trump.
Maybe you are not the best judge of cognitive decline, given how hard you pushed Joe Biden here up until the story broke into the mainstream news, while those of us here on the other side saw it very plainly.
Who told you that, Howard? Were you there? Or did you read it in The Moscow Times, you know, the CIA produced newspaper out of Denmark.
The Chechens have been fighting very loyally on Russia's side in Ukraine. I guess you know better than the people who lived that war, because our press is so trustworthy, and would never push a narrative designed to undermine a leader whom Biden himself has said "must go."
Russia's crime is that of sitting on top of uncounted trillions of natural resources, and being strong enough that they can't be bullied into selling them to us at looter's prices. Their crime is to exist to bigly. Nobody in London seems to be able to sleep as long as Russia exists and isn't divided up into Western dominated satrapies.
“Meanwhile, they seem to overlook Trump’s evident cognitive decline and pronounced personality disorder."
Normally the word ‘evident’ implies that there is actual evidence. ‘I don’t like Trump’ doesn’t qualify as evidence. Trump seems very much the same person he was 10 years ago, just as sharp and energetic.
I’m very pleased that MAGA Republicans suddenly see a need for full disclosure of Presidents’ health.
Trump has been exhibiting symptoms of serious cognitive decline. Alzheimer’s is a strong possibility. He too must be examined thoroughly.
The news media has a choice to cover all the individual fires set by the arsonist, or talk about the arsonist setting the fires.
Covering both is a rational approach. Use the stories of death and destruction to motivate people to go after the political arsonist and end the “fires”.
The issue is not Biden's coverup, though. The issue is why and how the Democrats failed to prevent this from happening. If Biden had been re-elected, this would have been a problem.
This is why you don't select people of this age to do such an important job. It's also a risky strategy for the Republicans. Will Trump make it to the end of his term without any health issues? Actuarially speaking, this is rather unlikely. And if he doesn't, will there be full disclosure to the public?

Most of the press was being paid through NGO's and Government grants. They were benefitting from the conspiracy to steal trillions from US taxpayers.
They don't need to do any soul searching.
They need to be charged with fraud and sedition.

Russia's crime is that
Putin is a fucking KGB Colonel, used to duping stupid westerners who want to be led around by the nose.
He mourns the loss of the USSR & the Warsaw Pact, and glorifies Stalin.
If you can't figure out that makes him the bad guy, you are not conservative, or even a real American
