"I’m having little adventures, but yes, not on social media."

"I am painting, I am drawing, I’m doing photography. I’m climbing mountains and going on very long walks. I’m having little adventures, but yes, not on social media. I don’t think it’s something that would particularly serve my life, and I’m quite happy that I don’t have it."

Said Mia Threapleton, quoted in "Wes Anderson’s Newest Star Finds Inspiration Everywhere (Even a Napkin)/Mia Threapleton is Kate Winslet’s daughter but she’s intent on making her own way in Hollywood. That includes her deadpan nun in 'The Phoenician Scheme'" (NYT).

I hope young people today see that, but they'll only see it on social media.

Yes, climb every mountain. Ford every Stream. Paint your wagon. And draw the line.

You're either on the Wes Anderson train now or you aren't.

Not a huge fan of Anderson, but I've enjoyed Winslet's acting and admire her independence from the Hollywood Maw, and hope her daughter is able to do the same.

I watched the trailer for “The Phoenician Scheme.” I thought it was the most over-the-top parody of a Wes Anderson movie. But it’s a real movie. Very Wes Andersonny. But the Mia Threapleton character seems straight out of an Edward Gorey cartoon. Love that name Threapleton.

That's pretty funny.

Government Cheese also seems to be inspired by Wes Anderson's movies. Government Cheese, however, seems to be an affectionate offspring.

Threapleton, what a chewy surname. Must be English.

Mia is out having adventures and touching grass, but she isn't going on about it on social media. Good for her.

I hope she goes on to accomplish great things so that you didn't make a new tag in vain.

Anderson’s schtik worked for a few films(“Life Aquatic”, “ The Darjeeling Limited”), but it’s sort of worn itself out… at least for me.

She looks more like Amanda Seyfried than Kate Winslet. Yet another child of showbiz who has some who found a way to rise in the competitive world of showbiz......Hollwood has more legacy admissions than Harvard.

I do see some Kate Winslet in Mia's face -- at least in a few photos. It's a very round face. Young Kate's problem was keeping the fleshy roundness off other parts.

Wes Anderson seems to like women in uniform. See the prison sequence of "The French Dispatch." He also liked when the woman in that movie took off her uniform -- and everything else. Mia beware.

I got tired of Wes after the one with the Sea Scouts ("Moonrise Kingdom"). The guy needs to break out of Wesandersonland and see where it takes him. Maybe back to Texas. "Bottle Rocket" was different from his later pictures. Maybe that was before his "New Yorker" subscription kicked in.

It would have been more fun if Mia Threapleton were Jeanne Tripplehorn's daughter. Then her own daughter would have been a Quadrupleton-Quadruplehorn.

Haven't seen it and I already love it. When I do see it I expect to be treated to another seamless blend of substance and style. Nobody does it better.

With the connection she has, there's no benefit to social media. For others, it is a way to get around gatekeepers or, more commonly, just a way of self-expression for various reasons.

Jesus, Wes Anderson? It's in her contract to doodle fey things on napkins.

I'm so glad this nepotism example is making it all on her own.

How would people react if Hunter Biden said, "I'm Biden's son, but I'm determined to make it on my own". Or Eric Trump. Just a coincidence that Hunter trod the graft path and Eric the financial path I am sure.

I get the impression that actors are working gratis just to be in his movies.
