"House Democrats erupted into fury and profane invective Tuesday as Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) forced a vote on his rogue efforts to impeach President Trump...."

"The vote could be tough for many Democrats, who feel impeachment is politically foolish but are facing demands from their grassroots to mirror Trump's shock-and-awe tactics.... Thanedar took to the House floor Tuesday afternoon to notice his seven articles of impeachment as privileged, which forces the House to vote on them within two legislative days.... The measure accuses Trump of a litany of offenses, including abuse of power, corruption and 'tyranny,' mostly related to his consolidation of power and his personal finances.... 'This is the dumbest f***ing thing. Utterly selfish behavior,' said a... House Democrat.... Asked about suggestions that the effort is related to his primary, [Thanedar] said: 'It's too early — 15 months. I'm not worried about that. It's not about elections ... it's about doing the right thing.'"

From "Dems privately rage over 'utterly selfish' Trump impeachment vote" (Axios).

It wouldn’t come to the floor if the leadership didn’t want it to. A drama with acting worse than Hamilton…

Republicans will like this as it helps set the left out of bounds marker farther left, so they can scootch the right line farther left. Good for passing all the garbage in the fall cr…

Impeachment votes have become so common we need something new for actual impeachment-worthy crimes: ULTRA IMPEACHMENT or IMPEACHMENT 3000. Have to restore some gravitas.

Impeach Trump for what? Winning the election? Being the most successful President since FDR?

This is the case of an unknown Representative fighting for his political life locally, desiring to become nationally known. And he will be. In the same manner as Reps. Al Green and Hank Johnson.
Even Rashid Tlaib is working to have him primaried. Michigan is not sending their best and brightest anymore.
Michigan is not sending their best and brightest anymore. Or, perhaps they've all finally left for Texas, Florida, and Tennessee.

It doesn't matter. The Dems have told Thanedar that they're going to primary him next time he comes up for re-election. He threw this impeachment turd in the punch bowl to make them look bad.

Take a good long look at the Thanedar's face and I promise you, the longer you look, the more you'll realize torturing animals is probably among his lesser crimes.

Again, this shows the second the D's regain the House in 2027, they will impeach Trump. And we'll have to go through another absurd Alice-in-Wonderland Senate "Trial". No doubt with some R senator playing the Mitt Romney "Conscious of the senate" part. It'd be nice if we could agree before hand to just ignore it. But you know...Republicans.

Things Shri Thanedar enjoys:

- Representing his district
- Kissing hands and shaking babies
- Puppies, lots of them, for no apparent reason
- Feeding infants to mutated dobermans on the soltice to appease Kali
- Lurking in dark alleys with Adam Schiff registering new voters
- Easter egg hunts with other people's children
- Stealing Sankara Stones from isolated Rajasthani villages
- Admiring freshly extracted hearts pulled from the chests of the living

I look forward to it. The Democrats, particularly the grassroots, have been claiming that Trump would weaponize the DOJ for retribution. I don’t think he has, except for those stupid enough to storm ICE facilities or render aid to criminals. I think Trump was willing to take the high road to de-escalate the weaponization that occurred to him along with the gift to do so with Biden’s pardons (except I do think Trump and cabinet want a case against Fauci and Birx).
If Democrats go back to impeachment, impeachment, impeachment; then it will rally Trump’s base to retribution. There is no way for the impeachment to succeed, but there is a lot to piss off the GOP and the base into going into the mud with the Democrats. This is a fight the Democrats will lose, but the GOP realizes will be very ugly so is trying to avoid. I think the Democrats complaining about the move also know how ugly this will be.
Me, I’m not as happy about moving on from the Covid lockdowns, the Afghan withdrawal, and hiding the health of a President with no reconciliation or examination of what was done wrong. I could do it, but not if Democrats intend to not learn anything from these mistakes and keep doubling down.

New! Democrats obsessed with Trump-hate and Trump rage!... Democrats will use any tactic possible to relieve themselves of their psychotic hate and rage.

I looked up Shri Thanedar on Wikipedia. He’s been a successful start-up entrepreneur, but nearly all of his businesses seem to have ended in bankruptcy. For me the eye-opener was the bankruptcy of a firm called AniClin. He apparently just locked the place up, making no provision to feed or provide water to the research animals, or to clean their cages. He just left the animals to die of thirst or starve in cages polluted with their urine and feces. Staffers —unpaid — climbed the fence that had been erected around the facility and broke into the building to take care of the animals until animal welfare organizations could be brought in to take over.

Disgusting.

Serious Questions:
how much, does Shri Thanedar own (out of his OWN Pocket), for previous campaign debt?

How IMPORTANT to Shri, is it that he appeal to lefties to get MUCHO Dinero for his next race.. That he will be able to USE to pay off Previous debt?

Does ANY ONE still wonder WHY Shri is doing this?

It's pretty obvious that if they had the votes, they would overturn the election for no reason other than they lost, and they would do it if Trump won 450 electoral votes. Today's Democrats simply cannot be trusted with power, and millions of their supporters can't be trusted with the vote in an election or on a jury. That's a media and education created disaster. The only cure is for Trump to be so successful that they are shamed into self-reflection, which may not even be possible even if the clouds over every city formed themselves into giant MAGA signs in the sky.

@Big Mike, if you've never been to India, the entire country is analogous to AniClin. It's a wild head-scratching dichotomy that the same meta-culture that preaches ahimsa practices almost precisely the opposite to every other living thing, including humans, that's not a bovid.

There's a reason India is the source of numerous religious practices organized around annihilating samsara. Once you've lived there as a human, you'd prefer nirvana to going back.

I asked Gemini AI "Is Shri Thanedar going to be primaried?"

AI responded in the positive. Apparently, he's not Leftist enough for the Democrat Party, adding "Thanedar, who had been critical of the Israeli government while in the state legislature, renounced his membership in the Democratic Socialists of America after the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack."

Thanedar's district and Tlaib's have enough African-Americans that they could have a Black representative if they really wanted to. I wonder if that would be better or -- looking at Jasmine Crockett and LaMonica McIver -- worse.

Thanedar was a fluke. The other candidates split the vote or failed to get enough signatures, and Thanedar massively overspent them. It doesn't look like voters knew much about him - certainly not about the bankruptcy or the beagles. The House leadership likewise supported him without apparently asking many questions.

Why is it that Thanedar, and so many Black reps, think impeaching Republican presidents is popular with African-Americans? What does it do for their district or their constituents? Are they just doing the scutwork for the party, annoying the Republicans in hopes it will ingratiate them with the party leaders? "Rogue" impeachment efforts won't do that.

Because it is popular...with their women. Black men - knowing all about Shaneequa and the neverending lack of peace and satisfaction that comes from living with her - view this persistent scolding as a badge of honor.

I hope they keep this up. By the time they impeach him for the 7th time Trump and the gop will have locked up most of the non-homo black vote for a generation.

How does that make any sense? If I had a mortgage I didn't pay and the bank took back my home, I wouldn't lock my pets in the house and leave.

Why didn't he face any animal abuse charges for this? Was he saved from that because his former employees broke in to care for the animals?

Wow, Big Mike, he's that guy? The one who starved beagles? What kind of assholes starves beagles? Not my favorite breed, but so what?

Thank God I live in a civilized place: rural Georgia. My local bank holds BBQs, hands out the most amazing (and I dislike ice cream) fresh-churned peach ice cream in season, and works hard to get mortgages and other resources for poor but decent people, including those who live in trailers, which are practically impossible to finance.

If they knew they endangered beagles by forclosing on some asshole, they would call the sheriff and a judge, get a bunch of firemen and deputies to rescue the dogs, and have them all well-kibbled, loved on, and adopted before the sun set, while handing out free peach ice cream.

@Tina Trent, I have no idea whether the lab animals included dogs at all, much less, specifically, beagles. Wikipedia just said “laboratory animals “

Tina- prior to his abandoning the building and the lab animals- this democrat tortured Beagles.

Tina Trent said...

I meant to say "universal love language of okra." Big Mike, he did abandon 118 beagles and 55 monkeys to die in his lab.

So at least he's going to beagle monkey hell, an especially unpleasant circle that even Dante didn't want to articulate.

Uh-huh. Trump campaigned on what he would do if elected. We voted him in to do what he campaigned on. He's now doing what we voted him in for.

So, yeah. Let's impeach him. For doing what we want.

You suck at this.

@Tina Trent, I did some further research and I also read that. The beagles were sent to adoption centers and the monkeys were sent to a sanctuary. Monkeys are very dangerous lab animals — they’re stronger than you might expect, they have sharp teeth, they like to bite, and they’re smarter than the average Democrat (a low bar, I admit).

Also, you might want to check in on those Republicans who voted to impeach Trump last time around.

Every, single one of them - with the exception of Dan Newhouse (WA-04 ... the most conservative district in Washington state) - either declined to run again or were primaried.

The GOP may be the stupid party, but they're not stupid enough to impeach the guy who won every swing state and entered DC with a mandate.
