"Turns out they were watching 'The Death of a Unicorn'...."

Who knew Tesla vandals were into unicorns?

ADDED: Strangely enough, this is not my first post that has both my "Tesla" and my "unicorns" tags. The other one, back in 2018, was about settling a lawsuit about a drawing of a farting unicorn that Tesla used as an icon on its video screen and Musk put in a Christmas message to customers.

There is zero doubt in my mind the Tesla vandal pleasures himself nightly to MLP while dressed like a Teletubby...probably Dipsy. And his friends are furries. Call it a hunch.

Vandalizing a vehicle that is covered in cameras seems unwise. It is a failed intelligence test, and it just keeps happening.

FullMoon said...

Ironic that the dems have given permission to vandalize Teslasts to normal people who have always disliked leftist Tesla owners, while at the same time, converting many leftist Tesla owners into republicans.

I saw a Tesla this morning with a "No Elon" sticker on it. I wonder how it feels to know that some of your political allies are violent thugs, like, you know, Hitler's brownshirts. O, it's been covered in 1984 with the "doublethink" bit.

Amazing how many violent mentally ill freaks are Democrats. They love taking marching orders from the liberal/left elite and following "the party Line".

RCOCEAN II said...

Yes, you wont hear any "outrage" from the Democrat party elite. Anymore then you heard any disavowels (sic) and outrage over the BLM/Antifa riots of 2020 with 50 dead, and millions in property damage.

The liberal/left don't attack their "Luantic Fringe" no matter what. "No enemies to the Left" is their motto. Meanwhile dumbshit GOPe and Republicans cant wait to race in front of a TV camera and attack Trump or anyone to their Right. Losersville.

I bet an NGO has to spend about $5,000 for each swastika scratched into a Tesla. But no problem, they have billions of our tax dollars to burn. Its not like the poor people need it or anything.

Ironic that the dems have given permission to vandalize Teslas to normal people who have always disliked leftist Tesla owners, while at the same time, converting many leftist Tesla owners into republicans.

And converting Republicans into Tesla owners too. I have never been inside a Tesla and never gave them a moment's thought, but lately I have been looking into these vehicles more and more, and noticing that their owners rave about them as the ideal commuter car - which I am now in need of. Cheaper to drive and very cheap on maintenance and much better battery life than I had previously believed.

I live in a place where violent leftist monkeyshines are not at all tolerated, carry a gun all day, and park in a protected garage or parking lot whenever I'm at work. I'm not at all intimidated by the purple-hair crowd. This infantile vandalism fad will pass, but until it does, I expect there are some smoking deals to be had on new or lightly used Teslas.

"Death of a Unicorn" LOL. Too perfect. It's an environmentalist/anti capitalist horror movie. I haven't seen it, but my son assures me it's as tediously literal minded as the trailers made it look.

Hassayamper: We used our son's little 2016 Chevy Bolt for over a year. We are retired and live 14 miles from most shopping or venues and it was perfect for us. He is now using it again as a commuter car and goes into the office daily. His commute is all city driving and maybe seven miles one way. He does not have a special charger but the car usually has a full battery in the am after getting plugged in overnight. I doubt that he even plugs it in every night. He bought it used six or seven years ago in a good deal, and then Chevy replaced the battery under a recall two years ago. It is ideal for his situation. If you need a good commuter car, an EV might be right for you, especially if it is a second car. He almost traded it in for a Tesla a few years ago - Tesla's are fantastic. He's on a budget so he didn't pull the trigger, but I am willing to bet a Tesla is in his future. And I think you are right - probably some good deals on used ones now.

The Last Unicorn, the 1982 cartoon? Weird.

I am curious about another book by the same author: The Rhinoceros Who Quoted Nietzsche and Other Odd Acquaintances. I might actually see that one.

The "No Elon" sign/bumper sticker reminds me of a sign that might have hung outside a shop in Germany in the late 30s:

But seriously, reading the plot, couldn't the unicorn foal that they tried and tried to kill but he just wouldn't die and he kept doing wonderful, magical things for them along the way represent Trump?.

And eventually the unicorn parents (that's us) showed up, saved the day, and knocked off several of the bad guys.

Works for me.

Also, sorry if I misgender the unicorn. I'm sure it's complicated.

Captain BillieBob said...

Did you know that the Unicorn is the national animal of Scotland.
"Unicorns have been linked to Scotland for centuries. In Celtic mythology the unicorn was a symbol of purity and innocence, as well as masculinity and power. Tales of dominance and chivalry associated with the unicorn may be why it was chosen as Scotland’s national animal. While the animal is mythological, the ideals it represents are what make it a perfect fit as the national animal for Scotland, and because like this proud beast – Scots would fight to remain unconquered."

Couldn't the Tesla protest be interpreted as a pretext to hate on the affluent?

People attacking a Tesla can't afford to buy one. That's my thesis. It has a veneer of respectability.

The affluent that join in, the "allies", they are really buying a pass, 'We are on the right side of history', yada yada yada.

@Lem Da Bandit, at least two of the Tesla vandals have been revealed to be independently wealthy. The woman who pulled in front of a cybertruck was revealed to be a multi-millionaire, and a guy caught keying one earlier this week owns a successful detailing business and tried to compensate the owner on the spot with free services from his company.

Who knows if that's money they made themselves or if they're trustafarians, but I'm betting they're trustafarians, along with this unicorn-loving brony.

"I'm not a loser, I'm sticking it to the man." Somebody ought to write a series of articles on the lives of these bit-part protestors as those lives develop over time.
We used to encounter what we called Rent-A-Mob in prolife. The only ones I actually knew anything about were a liitle group of leftys who used to party together on Fridays in a very decadent way. When we turned up to picket on a Saturday they would turn up as counter-pickets and they would be savagely angry at having to get out of bed, having just gotten in and being still loaded with drugs and drink. In their anger, they seriously pushed us around, knocking us to the ground, causing bloody noses and that. I asked why they didn't just stay in bed; we wouldn't mind. They said it was an order. They were anti-Stalin but not pro-Trotsky, they told me once.
That was the last generation; I don't think the scream-at-the-sky, roll-on-the-ground crowd is that organized but still there must be a back story. I wonder if they're paid and if they get more if they come up with a really frantic antic that goes viral. I wonder if they stand around exchanging stories of someone who achieved fame for spitting on a shopper or stories of life on the Kamala buses. If some are aspiring actors and others are aspiring to get money for drugs.

I'm always amused by people who get enraged by inanimate objects.
This is even funnier because these people were told to hate Musk and the inanimate objects that Musk manufactures. If Tesla made pacemakers would they rip it out of their chests? I'm led to believe they would.
Re; Tesla trucks. I saw a Tesla truck doing truck things. Fully loaded with plywood and 2x4s cruising down the road. They guy put on flaired fenders. They did improve the look.

Here in Austin, home to a really gigantic Tesla plant now, we're seeing more Cybertrucks on local roads, although there are an even larger number remaining on local dealer lots. And Tesla sedans are also common. I suspect local sentiment is strongly against vandalizing Teslas, but I have no contact with the young leftists of the town. I note in passing that Texas is a constitutional carry state, so attacks on people in cars are generally rare.

Okay, it's "The Death of a Unicorn" (2025) and not "The Last Unicorn" (1982). That makes more sense. It still doesn't sound any good.

Scotland (England's hat?) must have seemed very strange to the rest of Europe, with the men in skirts and the throwing telephone poles around. The unicorn was a fitting symbol.

Eva. They're paying for this sort of behavior. What do you think all those NGOs are for?

Narr said...

Lazarus mentions Scotland's strangeness, and he ain't wrong.

For centuries, Scotland was Europe's back-of-beyond--remote, exotic, and romantic, the domain of witches and feuds.

But that was before the Scots captured London from the inside and began to remake the world in their own image.
