What's the difference whether they talk face to face or through intermediaries? Probably more efficient to go direct. Plus Israel has been talking to and allowing for funding for Hamas since its inception so spare us the nonsense of "no one talks to terrorists". It's unproductive.
Other than increased quantity, I wonder what other weapons can be made available? Is there something in the US inventory that hasn't been provided/used at this point? Or maybe the Israelis themselves have something that the US has prohibited until now.
"Yours is the profession of arms, the will to win, the sure knowledge that in war there is no substitute for victory, that if you lose, the Nation will be destroyed, that the very obsession of your public service must be Duty, Honor, Country."
Israel knows this and will practice it if no stopped by the spineless of the West.
Trump is a dealmaker, not a knee breaker and Hamas knows it. They're still alive after all his previous threats. At some point, the President has to pull a trigger or nobody will believe he has the balls to do it.
Unconditional surrender is a good option to require for Hamas. Let them die or surrender to be tried by military tribunals for their crimes against humanity. It is the only civilized way to treat this terrorist proxy army of Iran.
The problem is that Hamas is in tunnels directly below the Gazan civilians, no matter where those civilians are. Blow up the tunnels and you blow up civilians - warn the civilians to move away from above a particular set of tunnels and you have warned Hamas. Hamas is not the shield of civilians like every other army on the face of the earth, rather the civilians are shielding Hamas. Moreover, Hamas, though the elected government of Gaza, refuses to be responsible for the welfare of its citizens, rather it regards the welfare of its citizens as the responsibility of the Israeli government. This is as unusual as the Hamas miltary shielding itself behind its own civilians. The net is that where most governments, facing military defeat and economic collapse would surrender, Hamas, when defeated militarily and impotent economically, simply increases its demands on the israelis without surrendering. Defeating Hamas is a war crime.
Kaki- the theory was that the fakestinians voted for and wanted Hamas for their leadership. The theory was that if Israel forwards money to the fakestinians in general and Hamas in particular they would find material comfort and prosperity satisfying and would see that peace is more enjoyable than murdering innocent civilians. That they used the money instead for building, tunnels and rockets to more effectively murder people rather than building hotels, and swimming pools was not what they expected.
It used to be in Israel there was a significant number of people who felt that everyone wanted peace, Israel just had not offered enough. There was of course a significant portion that thought all that the Muslims want is murder. They’re no longer is any peace process. There is nearly not a single person, only the most extreme radical leftists, The is prepared to give them anything. Again, except for only the most radicalized leftists everyone acknowledges that giving them land will be nothing more than territory for freedom of movement for them to murder Jews.
And it is not like anyone believes that Hamas is the source of this. Most of the people who breached the barrier and came into Israel to murder and rape were not Hamas. They were the normal everyday citizens. It is the normal every day citizens that volunteered their houses to store prisoners. It is the normal every day citizens that allowed their schools and houses and hospitals and mosques to be used for command and control centers. It is not a problem. It is all of the guys.

Trump made his outrageous Gaza proposal and Presto ! A week or two later the Arabs put theirs forward. More will come, but Hamas has to go. Their only support is clandestine and nefarious. Adios, Hamas. It'll take a few generations to reverse-brainwash the populace though.
Every Image of Hamas - and they are covered in masks. Why not be out there an proud? Lets see your proud Jew-hating faces - murdering a-holes. Hamas and American leftist Antifa thugs have that in common.

Actually, no.
Most of the time, Israeli policy was to treat the Palestinian Authority as a burden and Hamas as an asset. Far-right MK Bezalel Smotrich, now the finance minister in the hardline government and leader of the Religious Zionism party, said so himself in 2015.
According to various reports, Netanyahu made a similar point at a Likud faction meeting in early 2019, when he was quoted as saying that those who oppose a Palestinian state should support the transfer of funds to Gaza, because maintaining the separation between the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and Hamas in Gaza would prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state. -- The Times of Israel
AMDG said... And each and every death and destroyed building is 100% due to the satanic scum of Hamas.
Agreed, yet still tragic. Japanese leadership was responsible for the deaths of civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, just as Hamas is responsible for Gaza.
And it is not like anyone believes that Hamas is the source of this. Most of the people who breached the barrier and came into Israel to murder and rape were not Hamas. They were the normal everyday citizens.
Clearly, some kind of training and coordination were necessary. It wasn't people off the street who were doing that. You don't mount an operation like that with untrained forces, so it's safe to say that the perpetrators were Hamas. Hamas had an estimated 25,000 to 30,000 fighters. The population of Gaza was over 2 million. Even if you include those who weren't Hamas fighters and had hostages in their homes, the totals aren't likely to be anything like 2 million.
The attack of Oct 7 reinforced a deep Israeli truth. Hamas wants all the Israeli Jews to know that they are on death ground. The communities butchered were the homes of the people who wanted peace with the Gazans.
It is ugly and tragic and brutal to tell people they must submit or be on death ground, but here we are. Send our people back, all of them, dead or alive, or else. This will be on you. Return of serve.
Lazarus -isreal has good information as to who is Hema and who is not. They have recorded phone calls of people calling their mothers to give them the good news that they were able to murder this many Jews or that many Jews. Many if not most of the perpetrators were simple regular gods who wanted to murder and write so much that they were happy to join in. And what kind of organized military operation? For a small number of leaders who organized it yes. A small number of Hang gliders and they had to coordinate the cars and trucks ramming the gates. After that it was a small number of motorized vehicles and a large number of people using whatever resources they had to go find the nearest Jews they could and murder and rape as many as they could. A small number of people had to be organized. Most people did not. If you are talking about a precise military operation then yes. To the extent that a precise military operation was necessary to initiate this, yes. But most of this was not a precise military operation. Most of this was simple savagery by people who long ago gave up any claim to humanity Through their actions.
Hamas is a terror state, an emirate of the Moslem Brotherhood's campaign, against the West, which Israel is a part of, a proxy of Qatar and Erdogan's Turkey, see the op in Syria as another example
I’m sure Trump is aware that this will be seen by some as a step toward ending the jihad. Far more important than Ukraine. Effete European leaders, tolerant of the figurative and literal rape in their nation will not act accordingly.
Kak (6:03): “Plus Israel has been talking to and allowing for funding for Hamas since its inception….” Yes, but Israel no longer needs to deal with wannabe Muslim Presidents and the antisemitic extremists in their Party. That will end now that they are not alone. Hope you don’t mind.
I think the specifics about what Trump is going to do if Hamas does not release the hostages are less important than his tone. I understand from the Times of Israel that this message was in response to Hamas in the current negotiation with American representatives through Qatar. Yes, Trump threatened Hamas before and seemingly backed down but that was because Israel backed down and agreed to continue the release arrangements after the snafu when Hamas claimed they were stopping. But now that the 1st phase is over the issue is whether the 2nd phase will continue. I try to not judge the negotiations and agreements that Israel has made but I am extremely frustrated that the release of all the hostages was not a requirement in the 1st phase of the ceasefire. Idiotic and inhuman to leave anyone stranded there while the 2nd phase is negotiated. And apparently Trump feels the same. Sometimes Netanyahu is too smart for his own good and his arrogance caused him to be too trusting. He thought he could use Hamas as a wedge against the PA and naively believed he could keep Hamas and Gaza under control with money and increased work permits. Such a huge mistake Netanyahu can not forgive. That's probably why Trump is trying to negotiate the ceasefire without Netanyahu.

I realize Hamas started this to drag the US into a conflict, but it is time to end it.

I would prefer to see Hamas killed, but unlike many people, I don't profess to know everything.
Shalom is like Aloha then
Love itg! Its about time!!!
i agree.

Perhaps Trump will greenlight Israel targeting Hamas’ leadership anytime, anyplace.

The left love Hamas.
Israel has been coddling Hamas from the beginning like a favorite tumor so it's hard to excise
Another protracted, stalemated conflict. No point in making it into a proxy war.

Trump has to follow through and start killing the Hamas leaders in the countries where they are hiding. And seize their financial accounts.

Hamas and American leftist Antifa thugs have that in common.
"If these students were a bunch of Nazis blaring bullhorns and shouting into megaphones you can believe they would be rounded up within the hour. But because they are communists, they get an extended free pass."
Again - why the masks? Show your faces - leftist cowards.

What was the name of the abortionist who kept the parts and corpses to celebrate a ritual cause?
Trump already said the same thing to Hamas - weeks ago. Repeating threatening ultimatums and deadlines is not a good look, Donald.
