"... that includes at least one shirtless photo. 'I’m making light of the situation. At the end of the day, I’m very passionate about class solidarity,' she says. 'I think we’re in really dark times right now.' Fellow cheeky-T-shirt wearer Nadine Seiler, the self-proclaimed 'Cougar for Luigi,' tells me she made her shirt with a group of friends on Valentine’s Day. They got together and ate red velvet cupcakes with gummy worms inside, which she says represent the parasitic ruling class. 'It’s good to get together, have a serious discussion, and have people understand what is going on in this country and that we need to be doing something different,' she says. 'I’m having fun while focusing on the serious issue at hand, which are these CEOs taking advantage of the masses and we’re still giving them our money.'"

Leftism is a mental disorder. These people are not well.
Nothing new. Hard criminals have always had fan girls and marriage proposals. Women don’t like the idea of calling this a character flaw in women so we’ll be invited to contort and think about this as something…anything else…
All's fair in lust and abortion? That said, I'm surprised that he hadn't Planned an executive from AARP, the lobbying arm of UnitedHealthcare. Pethaps Obama or Biden in forward-looking poison pills.

Wow, a lot to unpack with this bunch. Eating the parasitic ruling class on St. Valentine's Day? Where's Freud and Jung when you need'em?
So one visitor to Mangioni was Chelsea Manning (born Bradley Manning, December 17, 1987) is an American activist and whistleblower. She is a former United States Army soldier who was convicted by court-martial in July 2013 of violations of the Espionage Act and other offenses, after disclosing to WikiLeaks nearly 750,000 classified, or unclassified but sensitive, military and diplomatic documents. With friends like that, Luigi should just plead guilty.
Every time I hear about this story - particularly about his "fan girls" - I find myself humming "Maxwell's Silver Hammer".
...Rose and Valerie, sitting in the gallery, say he must go free...
They are Maenads, playing handmaidens to Mangione's unlikely Dionysus.
Yes, because nothing says "serious" like a gummy worm.
Do any of Mangione’s fans support him because they believe he is innocent?
We're not ugly gluttons with the taste of a five year old, we're sticking it to the man! The fact that we are 300 lbs just shows how often we stick it to the man!
Let's see, what metaphor would allow me to eat a gallon of ice cream in one sitting?
Americans have always had a fascination with the grotesque, but it used to be furtive instead of celebrated. Hopefully that’s one thing that changes in the culture over the next few years.
And rehajm at 11:16 is right, of course. Women have been doing this at least since Dillinger and feminists can’t look away fast enough.
Rose and Valerie, screaming from the gallery
Say he must go free (Maxwell must go free)
The judge does not agree and he tells them so-o-o-o
It was ever thus.

Do taxpayers pay her salary?
Memory check! Who was the guy who, a long, long time ago, kept showing up in man on the street interviews?
I think he was covered at Althouse.

Imagine being these people and thinking you're one of the good guys.

Two questions: isn't The Cut writer (the columnist to whom Althouse links) also just wandering around looking for salacious quotes, and, what the heck happens to the texture of a gummy worm if you bake it inside a cupcake?
Well. You would have to be some kind of saint to believe that there is no one on Earth who deserves to be murdered.
What class do they think he comes from? He's the ruling class, you idiots, and murder is wrong!
Was it self-defense or elective abortion to remove a "burden"?
"solidarity"? By swigging wine, grooming a cat, while eating Red Velvet cupcakes.
Let's pray they don't take it further than that.
If he thought UnitedHealthcare is a kleptocracy, what did he think about their lobbying arm, AARP, and their political arm, DNC, under an Obamacares umbrella?
Progressive Privilege
"Well. You would have to be some kind of saint to believe that there is no one on Earth who deserves to be murdered."
Once the political murdering starts it never remains one-sided.
"Nothing new. Hard criminals have always had fan girls and marriage proposals."
Mark Twain wrote about that tendency.

"Once the political murdering starts it never remains one-sided."
Hmmmm ... I'm not so sure about that. Frankly, it sounds like wishful thinking. Do you have some examples in mind, of political murder committed by the right?
Example of "political murder committed by the right"? The Presidential Debate on June 27, 2024. Or perhaps you'd call that "political suicide" by Biden.
Murder is a flock of crow, eating. Let's call this what it is: elective abortion, a human rite, Planned Personhood. Accompanied by a pack of empathetic, homicidal hyenas braying.
There are quite a few people on earth who deserve to be murdered, but there's no one on earth who deserves (can be trusted) to be a murderer.

I wonder if our gracious hostess could perchance examine this phenomenon through the lens of the justly famous "Althouse's Law".
(For newcomers, here was her shrewd observation:
I've said it before, and I must repeat, the rule is: If you do scientific research into the differences between men and women, you must portray whatever you find to be true of women as superior. And when you read reports about scientific research into the differences between men and women, use the hypothesis that the scientists are following that rule. It makes reading the reports quite humorous.

If she were smarter she'd realize that ruling class is the government and NGO employees who disdain productive work which is being addressed right now. But unfortunately many people are easily misled by their envy.
Compare their disdain for productive work as outlined by Obama to that of Medieval and Classical aristocrats. Work is for the uneducated, they are above that. This is also why they are so offended by the premise that government workers need to take direction from regular citizens. It's gauche to believe commoners have anything to tell them.
I liked the Sacco-Vanzetti angle mentioned in the article.
A gummy worm eating party for a cold blooded killer. I can only imagine what these dumb females look like.
