Said John Fetterman, quoted in "Democrat Sen. John Fetterman blasts party brand as ‘toxic’ after years of ‘shaming and scolding’ voters" (NY Post).
February 7, 2025
"I think [the Democrats'] primary currency was shaming and scolding and talking down to people and telling them 'Hey, I know better than you, or you’re dopes...'"
"'... or you’re a bro, or you’re ignorant or, how can you be this dumb?' I can’t imagine it. And then, by the way, they’re fascists. How can you vote for that?... And you know, when you’re in a state like Pennsylvania, I know and I love people that voted for Trump, and they’re not fascist. They don’t support insurrection and those things. And if you go to an extreme, and you become a boutique kind of proposition, then you’re going to lose the argument. And we have done that.... And in some cases, in the conversations I’ve had, a lot of people, they don’t even want to say it publicly, but they just feel like the other side seems like…the men’s the problem. Men are to blame. Or their masculinity is toxic. Or unless you’re able to conform to our very strict kinds of definition of what we think is appropriate, well then, hey, I’m going to find an alternative. And they’ve done that.... it’s going to be difficult to rebuild and replace that...."

No hates Fascists more than Communists. No one hates Communists more than their subjects.
Fetterman is surprisingly refreshing sometimes. I wish he would dress the part, but he is true to himself.
Progressive Liberal Leftism.
Alinsky rule #5, and #6 because they enjoy the art of claiming they're smarter than their opponents, while presenting to evidence to establish the claim.
Back in October of 2016 Peggy Noonan ended her column with this:
It’s the big fact of American life now, isn’t it? That we are patronized by our inferiors.
In the intervening 8 1/2 years the Democrats have only gotten worse.
it’s going to be difficult to rebuild and replace that
When you overfill the party with women, you get a party based on reputation shaming. This feels inherently good to the members, so you're not going to stop them from doing it.
Apparently it takes a stroke for Democrats to overcome their cult indoctrination. I didn't have that on my bingo card.
The shaming and scolding is not just an incidental error or peculiar proclivity but follows logically from prog assumptions: their values are correct, they are on the right side of history, they are inherently smarter, therefore opposition is necessarily deplorable. But I see even Fetterman can't shake the scolding "insurrection" narrative.
Fetterman talks a good game. But, when it comes time for choosing, he chooses poorly. He may criticize his team, but he'll never go against them.
The Dems ought to be supremely grateful that Fetterman so grossly understated the toxicity of their manners. Their indebtedness should inspire a new perpetual trophy, call it the Fetterman Unwarranted Mercy Award and give it to Trump each year he doesn't jail more than 20 of their colleagues
Oh no! Democrats can't have someone reasonable running around. He'll have to be unpersonned.
That's what a purity spiral does. The combatants start the spiral and eventually you push out the moderates or skeptics or people with slightly different opinions. Like I asked someone the other day, do you think that they are good people with bad opinions or do you think they are evil people who have exposed themselves.
If you are doing the latter, you are going to alienate alot of people.
Fettermann not the moron I thought he was. But make no mistake, he's a leftist and he's just talking tactics. He's supported Schumer 95 percent of the time. And he will keep doing so, all the while playing the moderate who just wants the Democrats to stop being so "crazy".
If you've followed politics long enough, you understand this is the Standard Democrat response to losing.
"Hey, we need to get those working class voters back, so we're now against Corporate fat cats and for national health care. And "God Bless America".
If they win in 2028, they will behave exactly like they did in 2024.
Yet, Fetterman is going to vote against RFK Jr and Tulsi. His vote for Pam Bondi was nice, but it was symbolic. He's still following the party line.
I was going to say one of them is trying to learn, but that's totally wrong. He just the latest. See Tulsi and RFK Jr. Yet, the progressives running the DNC keep pushing against these Democrats that simply suggest, maybe they should listen to voters.
Republicans have their own problems. The difference is only that the voters are clawing as much power away from Republican leadership that they can. Still, Republican leaders will often tell their voters that they know better than voters what to do. They do that at their peril now.
He is what Schumer figured that he needed in PA to deny the Republicans the Senate seat they should have won on the issues and the sentiments in the state. He makes deceptive sounds then votes with Schumer 100% of the time, except when he votes against Schumer's stated position with Schumer's permission, only in order to keep the con alive.
Fetterman is the new Joe Lieberman of the senate.
Fetterman is saying what Trump supporters, and anyone reporting on them fairly, have been pointing out for 8 years. There's nothing new there. It just sounds new to people who haven't been honest with themselves.
Talk is cheap. Fetterman's a phony.
Well I'll be...
