At the Friday Night Café...

... you can talk all night.

That's not a sunrise picture. It was 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

Really thought I saw, a couple weeks ago, a long-range forecast that said it was gonna warm up. Here I sit, coldly disappointed.

There's a wind shear up there, and wind shears are unstable. The wavelength that's the most unstable shows up and grows faster than others and takes over the field, resulting in the herringbone pattern of a certain length.

My mother called that a buttermilk sky. I have no idea why.

In the South, such an overcast presages a heavy snowfall.

Best thing I saw today was this:

It's a pair of pictures of the USAID headquarters, before and after the signage was removed. Caption: "Unburdened by what has been." The tidal wave of schadenfreude continues to roll across the land!

If only I could reply to my comment. I looked it. February is running warmer than normal! But not for long. But maybe the long-range forecast was right.

I saw Bocelli yesterday night in Omaha. It was a near sell-out at 20,000. Beyond expectations. A voice like no other. A few more dates in the US. Not to be missed!

Supposedly the clouds like clabbered, or curdled milk. Hoagy Charmichael wrote a song about it

“President Trump announced his intention on Friday to bring the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington more firmly under his control, saying he would dismiss several board members and install himself as chairman.

“At my direction, we are going to make the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., GREAT AGAIN,” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social, his social media platform.

Mr. Trump said he would “immediately terminate multiple individuals from the Board of Trustees, including the Chairman, who do not share our Vision for a Golden Age in Arts and Culture.”

He added: “We will soon announce a new Board, with an amazing Chairman, DONALD J. TRUMP.””

Maybe Trump could focus on bringing down the cost of eggs first?

The updated format is good. But it does seem like the comment box is yelling at me.

It would be interesting to know how you fixed the problem.

Did you ask the same question when Biden was in charge. Or was it not a priority back then?

You are such a tool.

Here in Nevada it's the law that eggs be from cage-free hens, which raises the cost of production. Plus there is a reduction of the flock due to bird flu. Biden's administration took four years to fuck things up, so they can't all be fixed instantly.

Nahhhh... I'm good with his decisions so far. Maybe you should have asked Biden to do something about it before he left office? But then again, he was awfully busy pardoning murderers, so he might not have had the time.

Leland said...

According to St. Louis Fed, egg prices went from $1.5 per dozen when Biden was installed to $4 a dozen when Biden left office. When they began tracking egg prices in 1980, it was $.85 per dozen. It took 4 decades to increase egg prices 2 times. Biden did it in 4 years. Actually he did it in 2 years and really he tripled prices in just two years.

Ma'am/Sir, I solely voted for the liberal tears.
Single issue voter.

I'll pay $10 a f**ing egg to keep watching DJT take a blow torch to this whole diseased temple of thieves, traitors & pedos, burn it to the ground and piss on the ashes...”

Joe Biden’s security clearances have been revoked. The absolute right call. Four years ago would’ve been better, but you can only do what you can do.

Where the heck are we, anyway? Will the left grow the F up already?

Trump has gone all out on playing Tit For Tat. Just revoked Biden's security clearance and and daily intelligence briefings. Explained he had dementia and.. AND said Biden set the precedent as the first POTUS to revoke a former President's clearance when he did it to his predecessor- Trump himself.

My suggestion was he dot that to Biden- and all the other living former presidents since none of them spoke up at the insult.

As much as I wish it didn't have to be this way, it has to be this way. If there are no consequences to Democrats for the crap they subject their enemies to, they'll never stop.

Of course, there's no guarantee that, even being personally exposed to the fallout from their actions, they'll learn anything from it.

Wonderful news all around but there are a couple of alarm bells ringing in the distance:
1. CTH: “(1) gaining access to govt data was the goal; (2) monetizing the system with proprietary AI contracts (vis-a-vis Palantir) is the benefit; (3) however, a national security justified surveillance state is going to be the outcome.”
2. Mike Benz is cautioning that a RINO grab for the surveillance state won’t be an improvement over what we have now.
I don’t know how it’s possible from having a monitored life from womb to tomb anymore.

mid western trumpers watch the farmers take a beating with trumps freezing of aid especially to USAID(an agency that trump touted highly during his 1st debacle of a term and his wife and ivana used many times to the tune of millions) Yes, the cessation of aid under the Trump administration did impact The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) had been purchasing a significant amount of U.S.-grown crops, including corn, soybeans, wheat, and peas, for humanitarian food aid programs1. When Trump's administration froze and eventually dismantled USAID, it disrupted these purchases, leading to financial losses for farmers who relied on these programs.
Farmers and agribusinesses in states like Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin were particularly affected, as they had been selling crops to USAID's Food for Peace program. The sudden halt in these purchases created uncertainty and financial strain for many farmers
I dont know why they are whining they got the king they voted for, now pay your tithes. There's no crying in Politics! trump love you long time baby Beacoup Dinky Dau..

You mean try to repeal the law of supply and demand? That’s what your Communist comrades tried to do for 75 years, and it didn’t work out so well.

MSK WINS TALKS TRUMP OUT OF USAID We care," Melania Trump declared in 2018 during a visit to Egypt as first lady to promote her partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development We care, and we want to show the world that we care, and I've partnered and am working with USAID," she continued. "And that's what I want to share -- that we care."
On her four-country jaunt through Africa in 2018 -- her first major solo international trip as first lady -- Melania Trump offered praise for what she described as "successful" USAID programs as she observed them up close.

I know DOGE is a reference to Musk's dog or something, but I like the Venetian reference as well.

Venice was a republic where, if you weren't from there, you weren't a citizen.

Venice was a republic run by its productive people: merchant mariners, fighting sailors, manufacturers (Murano glass), shipbuilders (the Arsenale), etc.

Venice was a republic where the productive people who ran it put their own lives on the line to defend it. Merchant captains became naval captains, became admirals, became doges.

Venice was a republic where, if you messed up, feedback was swift and certain: beheading in the Piazza San Marco.

Venice was a republic where, if you really messed up, you were officially made a nonperson (damnatio memoriae).

Trump and Musk remind me of Venetians.

The US could learn a lot from Venice.

Lunatic Leftist Conspiracy Theorist P-Inga: "Maybe Trump could focus on bringing down the cost of eggs first?"

Just prior to Trump taking office the Joey-bag-O-dementia administration ordered the killing of 200 million chickens, thus significantly reducing the egg supply.

P-Inga doesn't know that because not only is she a sad, pathetic and malicious hoax-y liar (she STILL believes the hoax dossier was "most proven true"! STILL! LOL), she is also quite dense.

As in dumb.

Which is, I am afraid, a core requirement of all New Soviet Democratical NPC's.
