I watched Joe Rogan Experience #2231- Jimmy Corsetti & Dan Richards on YouTube… fascinating info.

He is also not a tough interviewer.

Off topic but I follow Sean Lennon and he definitely gives off a Libertarian vibe.

Democrats and Rinos only want softball interviewers. John Fetterman went on. Rogan was calling out the importation of illegal immigrants and then their distribution to swing states in effort to create one party control. Fetterman was like Ralph Norton trying to respond.

Many politicians CAN'T go on Joe Rogan. They need the 60 Minutes featherbed.

Hes an iconoclast he was foolish enough to votd for sanders after brought our new dni in 7 times

Apple couldn’t bring themselves to give podcast of the year to competitor (Spotify) Rogan who happened to have the winning candidate on for 3 hours. They gave it to the NYT instead. If it wasn't for Althouse I would never about the NYT podcast.

Don't know if I agree with that. He is not an ambush interviewer, like so many of the mainstream media, but he will push back on things guests say or call them when they are making arguments unsupported by evidence.

Rogan doesn’t try to be “tough”, he tries to draw the guest out in the long form discussion by just letting the conversation flow. He’s said many times that in hour 2 or 3 the real person comes out - because you run out of the canned lines after the first hour. That’s why the Trump and Vance interviews clicked and why Kamala stayed away - sunlight illuminates and shows the strength and flaws.

Rogan has his go to subjects too he will interject, but other than those, he lets the interview find its own path. But the main thing is he never is aggressive or impolite, even if he disagrees with the answer he gets.

Remember that Joe was a BernieBro. So the left did have Joe Rogan. They just treated him as a malignant kook.

Dude1394 said...

The left could never dream of an honest unbiased interviewer. It is not in their dna. They would be screaming bloody hell about not grilling the political opponent.

I find it interesting that the Left has long regarded all guns to be "evil" and need to be controlled. (BTW, RFK Jr. has a history of being in that anti-2A camp) A gun is a tool that can be used for "good" or for "evil"

Over the last year or so, the Left has turned its attention to Twitter/X as "evil" (when it's really a neutral tool)

Now the Left has determined that Joe Rogan's show is "evil" and needs to be confronted to "protect democracy"

Does anyone else see a pattern?

The left had their own Joe Rogan. His name was Joe Rogan.

In Kamala's case, you also have to be coherent.

Rogan is very agreeable and finds a basis for agreement with his guests. The problem is that Rogan is curious, and keeps asking questions until he can get to something with which to agree. He picks up on BS or a sham argument.

Bernie Sanders is a grumpy, old socialist. I'm not a fan, but appreciate that he believes what he says and can explain his position. That's why his interview with Rogan went well. Rogan considers himself to be on the Left.

A politician who won't go on Rogan, is hiding something or lying.

Eureka. It’s the guests that make Joe ultra successful.

Joe should invite Kamala on to his show after she leaves office. She should be able to do it then. I mean, sure, she may not have been able to spare a whole 3 hours while campaigning for votes to appear on the podcast with the biggest audience (of voters), but she'll have all the time in the world come January 20. Right? So, yes, I'm quite sure we'll see her having a nice, long, unscripted conversation with Joe sometime after the inauguration.

Rogan is a superb interviewer. As a PI, I interviewed countless people. The best compliment I ever received was when a witness said in a deposition that his interview w/ me felt like a conversation, not an interview. The witness observed a child's death and had important facts. Rogan is engaging, the antithesis of corporate media interviewers. Columbo was engaging.

The leftwing media lie a ton. Only democratic insider money whore allowed in.

There have been a few times where his dislike of a guest has put him on offense, IMO (I don't watch him very often, though). Doesn't happen very often, I guess, because he has a reputation of being pretty mild. But he's not reluctant about confronting poorly supported ideas, to probe his guest.

NorthOfTheOneOhOne said...

Rogan isn't adversarial, but he will make people explain and defend things they say. If you can't he'll call you out on it and change the subject.

Mason G said...

"People saying the left needs their own @joerogan don’t understand that they can go on his show too."

They understand that. What you're not understanding is that they don't want a debate. They're saying they need someone popular like @joerogan, except that conservative viewpoints aren't allowed to be aired. You know- like old Twitter.

Aggie said...

I think his invitation is still open.

Peachy said...

tough? What does that mean? He's not a jerk who is looking for the gottcha? Typical of the "tough" fraud-leftist media.
Rogan asks thoughtful questions. Our Soviet press does not understand that at all.

Rogan allows and enables speech and leaves the judgment to others. A novel deal that some people perceive to be a green idea in market economics. The Fourth Estate is studying how it works and how it can be aborted with prejudice.

Achilles said...

The left had a leftist version of Joe Rogan.

His name was Joe Rogan. Joe Rogan is a Bernie supporter.

What they mean to say is they want a Fascist version of Joe Rogan. But the problem for the left is they cannot be honest about what they actually want.

Quayle said...

Sunshine is the best disinvitation.

Joe Bar said...

If we look at the issues, Joe Rogan is clearly Left. He supports full abortion rights, Universal Basic Income, soft on crime policies, the list is long. As stated above, he's a Bernie Bro. Rogan just wants to understand people, and he's good at drawing them out, and letting them talk.

Duke Dan said...

Go back and watch him with Sanjay Gupta. He didnt let him squirm out of the CNN horse dewormer crap. Once he finished making the point after about 20 minutes they had a good conversation on other topics and a lot of agreement. More of this is good.

But form democrats, they have no ideas do discuss other than being in power.

Bullseye!

Freder Frederson said...

Rogan considers himself to be on the Left.

So does Althouse. Just because those two are fooling themselves does not make their delusions true.

J Severs said...

I like the JRE (well, maybe not the MMA guests so much because I am not interested in that topic. But I agree with the positive comments above about Joe Rogan, and would only add that he is curious about everything and respectful to his guests in letting them speak at some length.

Rogan is also pro-democracy, so it helps if you don't support lawfare to keep people off the ballot.

Sebastian said...

"Well, you have to be interesting."

Such a petty bourgeois desire. The anointed reserve the right to be boring. Plus, what's more interesting than total power and narrative control? But now they don't have it, which poses existential questions. In the new political arena and media landscape, candidates must be entertaining. Trump reset expectations.

mikee said...

Rogan can't be supported by leftists because he dares to stray outside the parameters set by the Party. Nothing outside the Party! The Left will have that problem with everyone on earth, because their Party policies and ideology and legislation are internally self-contradictory and cannot be rationalized nor logically followed 100% by anyone, ever.

Lazarus said...

The left had its own Joe Rogan: Joe Rogan. Rogan was a Bernie Bro.

A three-hour pod cast has to be critical and probing or it will be boring and won't work. Harris couldn't even speak in digestible sound bites. She would have been completely lost on a three-hour show that asks real questions. Harris couldn't even come up with anecdotes from her own life, the way that a Bill Clinton could, but even other, more articulate Democrats have been so coddled by the media that they can't answer probing follow-up questions.

Mr. D said...

My only quibble with Sean Ono Lennon's assessment is that it's not a "don't understand issue," but rather a refuse to understand (and demand compliance) issue.

GRW3 said...

When your entire public communication process is repeating the same talking points over and over again, it's hard to participate in a three-hour conversation.

MSOM said...

Perhaps they mean that Rogan's audience skews right wing. If that's the case, then the left should embrace the opportunity to present their ideas to a massive audience that tends not to vote for them but is open to having their minds changed.

Rather than create their own podcast that only they listen to.

Howard said...

Your welcome for introducing this blog to the Joe Rogan podcast, Jordan Peterson Lex Fridman and Andrew Huberman.

Jersey Fled said...

“Rogan isn't adversarial, but he will make people explain and defend things they say. If you can't he'll call you out on it and change the subject.”

Which is exactly why Kamala wouldn’t go on his show. If she had, she would have lost even worse.

LOL. Soviets are very picky and sensitive. Do not wander off the Soviet (D) Hivemind - or cancellation.

What Joe Rogan is that doesn't apply to many Democrats any longer is this- he is an actual man.
