Not only did he have to know the backstory but he had to be confident of his knowledge. He also had to keep bringing back the conversation to the issues that are important to the American people. Extraordinary degree of difficulty. And he had to keep calm all the while. No stuttering, no pausing to collect his thoughts. Very impressive.

DeSantis is not as charismatic as Trump, but he can address issues and advance solutions without turning off 49-51% of voters. The other day I saw Ron being interviewed about the recent hurricane, and Ron was ready. He shut the interviewer down with FACTS about earlier hurricanes that had hit Florida. Trump couldn't do that (actually, he could, and he'd do it well, but he won't do the homework).
