Fox News challenges JD Vance to deal with the media potshots at Trump's McDonald's french-fry stunt.

Here's an epic media pot shot;

'Trump tries to claim, without any evidence, that Kamala Harris did not work at McDonalds.'

What are they teaching at journalism school?

Todd said...

"When Republicans screw up, that is the story. When Democrats screw up, the Republican reaction is the story." still holds true. Where are the "reporters" following up on Kamala's claim of working in fast food? Where is the "proof"? Why are they asking Vance this instead of looking into it themselves?

WK said...

Couldn’t Kamala just request the social security administration to release her work records from that time period? When I look at my social security records they seem to know how much I earned each year and contributed. I would imagine they have records of the sources. Or she could release her tax filings for those years. Would have had to have filed if she got a W-2, no? Seems easy to resolve. Actually still have my copies in a box from 1977……..

RideSpaceMountain said...

That letter from McDonald's about "them being unable" to find a record of KamaCurry's employment with the chain was perfect corporate-counsel-speak for "yeah, the bitch is lying." I LOL'd.

Jaq said...

The Casey and Baldwin ads tying them to Trump, somehow, when they voted for his impeachment based on no actual evidence, is the funniest thing about the video.

Dixcus said...

The fact that they are attempting to make Trump prove a negative demonstrates how fake and rigged our elections are.

It doesn't matter who you vote for in November. They intend to install Kamala Harris as President and to erect razor wire fences around Washington DC to Inaugurate her so that YOU cannot get in.

What are you willing to do then?

wendybar said...

I am just sitting back laughing at all the idiots making bigger fools of themselves OVER Trump trolling the lazy, 2 checked person they are trying to install as the President after they uninstalled the delusional installation they put in before her.

Dixcus said...

I would advise all Americans ... DO NOT BRING YOUR CELL PHONE to Washington DC this time. They used these spying/tracking devices to track down everyone who protested Biden's fake installation in 2020.

Bring burner phones and ditch them after the event.

tim maguire said...

Why would Vance "deal" with the potshots? They help Trump. Their nonsense about "claimed without evidence" when it's Harris who can't provide evidence only reinforces the point that Harris probably lied about working at McDonalds (a weird sort of stolen valor).

I guess he could laugh into the microphone.

Bob B said...

There is a SSA form that will give you a detailed listing of wages and employers. (Form SSA-7050.) If Harris had any friends in the current administration, they could probably expedite a response.

Peachy said...

Only Corruptocrats are allowed "Stunts"

Jaq said...

The best Trump troll so far is still the meme with Obama saying "I need a VP dumber than me," then Biden saying "I need a VP dumber than me," then Harris saying "I need a VP dumber than me..."

Dixcus said...

She didn't even LIVE in the United States for most of her life growing up.

McDonalds USA has released a statement saying they have no record of her ever working there.

The media is very carefully avoiding the question of whether Harris worked at McDonalds IN CANADA, where she was raised by her Indian mother, who divorced her Marxist professor father.

They don't want Americans realizing that another foreigner is going to be installed as President of the United States following noted Kenyan Barack Hussein Obama.

Jaq said...

Because they are not stable geniuses.

Dixcus said...

If your car is older than 2019, you're clear. Obviously, you don't bring your own car to the war.

Ann Althouse said...

"Why would Vance "deal" with the potshots? They help Trump."

It was a very friendly challenge and he dealt with it especially well, bringing up the assassination attempts.

Dixcus said...

Note: That statement was made by McDonald's USA.

It was not made by McDonalds CANADA, which is where Kamala Harris grew up. She's barely American.

Peachy said...

JD Vance is a spectacular speaker. Thanks for posting this, Ann.

Dixcus said...

Of course, if you grew up and all your jobs were in Canada, then the SSA form wouldn't have any of that listed.

Kamala Harris wasn't even raised in the United States.

mindnumbrobot said...

The legacy media is shamelessly partisan, but do not underestimate them. I spoke with my brother-in-law last night, who lives in Georgia, is incredibly intelligent, upper middle class, and casually follows politics. He's undecided because he believes Trump has become too over the top. Trump is of course the same person he has always been, but my brother-in-law has been persuaded to believe otherwise by a dishonest media.

Carol said...

I thought the employees worked for the franchisee

Dixcus said...

And let's remember: The assassination attempts shouldn't be seen or thought of in the past tense.

They're still gonna murder Donald Trump.

Ampersand said...

If Kamala worked at McDonalds during a particular year's summer vacation, she has a simple way to at least show a possibility that she worked there. Her FICA contributions are a part of her SSA records. McDonalds would have withheld FICA from her paycheck. She could go online, print out the SSA earnings statement, redact her private information, and show earnings from that year that she can claim came from McDonalds.

The McDonald's statement issued yesterday says that they have no record of Harris ever working there, but that their records going back to the 80's are incomplete.

RideSpaceMountain said...

Even better for her. America's great socialist neighbor to the North definitely has detailed local and federal employment data going back that far.

I bet her employment records are only a well-placed phone call away. Prove us wrong Kamburgaler.

Dixcus said...

Trump has become too over the top.

The hell does that even mean? Can your brother-in-law actually cite something Trump "has become over the top" of?

Lilly, a dog said...

It was a Cunning Stunt. What's that old joke again?

Original Mike said...

"Of course, if you grew up and all your jobs were in Canada, then the SSA form wouldn't have any of that listed."

I believe she has identified a McDonalds in Alameda as where she worked.

Dixcus said...

She didn't work there. She lied. The campaign won't even discuss it because they know they've been caught in a lie. The campaign knows if it were true, they could just post her SSA records.

She's lying. Everything about her is fake. Including her nationality and race. And she's going to be installed in the White House whether we vote for her or not.

Deal with it.

tommyesq said...

I call bs on her working at McDonalds, but I would note that roughly 80% of McDonalds restaurants worldwide (and 90% in the USA) are franchises, and the McDonalds Corporation would be very unlikely to have records of individual employees that the franchisees hired.

Of course, one would think a reporter would have figured this out already...

Old and slow said...

And anyone who has ever been employed in the USA knows this. So, this excludes a good few Democratic voters, but includes most of the "undecideds".

Dixcus said...

She also claims to be black and is not.

Peachy said...

This is all so moronic. If Kamala work at McDonalds she could say "Look, I worked at McD's in (insert city and street) in the Summer of (insert year). They have records of my employment."

I can remember the general location and name of every place I worked with in College. The fact that no news organization has produced this information, and Kamala hasn't either, proves she's lying.

Why are people so gullible. Its like the chick who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault. If you can't tell me what month, year, and place you got raped, it didn't happen!

John henry said...

She was born a Jamaican citizen through her father. Not Indian, though as their laws are different.

Do we really want a dual nationality president? Will she recuse herself from any negotiations treaties etc with Jamaica? If she does recuse herself from signing a treaty, who else has the power?

Definitely natural born American 14A citizen though. Born in Oakland IIRC.

No, he couldn't cite anything. I didn't press the issue, only tried to convince him that by his thinking he was voting against Trump rather than for Harris, which he agreed is poor reasoning.

As stated above, the SSA has records of everywhere you worked, since your employer and you paid the payroll tax. Further, just because a McD's is a franchise, doesn't mean the McD's doesn't have the name of the employee. Just the opposite.

Carol writes, "I thought the employees worked for the franchisee."

Yes, but the franchise agreement has many clauses relating to employment practises. Without the contract in force at the time Harris claimed to have worked for a McDonald's store before the eyes of an astute attorney, the question of whether the absence of employment records regarding Harris is BS cannot be resolved. Let her produce the records, or else we can assume it's her bullshit, the Kamala Corn Pop Kerfuffle.

Balfegor said...

Re: Carol

That's what I thought too -- I don't know why the corporation would want to have the responsibility of tracking all the employees of the different franchisees. That said, if there's some kind of pooled benefits thing going on they might have had records at one point. Frankly, though, even if they did, why would they retain them for 40 years?

I'm pretty sure she was just lying to try and relate to voters, but I don't think we've seen definitive proof. She's the one making the claim, though, so the onus is on her to provide evidence, not Trump, and it's fair for him (and us) to draw reasonable inferences from her failure to do so.

Peachy said...

Since you love women - you should vote Kamala. She's your gal!

It was, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Harris' largest crowd yet.

However, this was just a little while after King acknowledged that Harris had turned out the crowd, in part, by promising them a free concert in return.

"Megan Thee Stallion has taken the stage at the Harris rally, performing her biggest hits, 'Hot Girl' and 'Mamushi,' with her and her background dancers clad in blue suits," King noted.

However, I could tell you where they were generally located, remember most of my co-worker's first names and in a couple of cases I could remember last names. I could also describe describe the basics of my job and probably pull out a couple of anecdotes about working there. Harris has done none of this. No details at all. Strip it of all identifying decals and serial numbers, and dress in similarly nondescript black clothes from Goodwill. Don't forget to wear generic sunglasses, a beanie covering your hair, and a bandanna over your face. Wipe it down for fingerprints, in case you need to abandon it suddenly, and wear gloves. Carry any needed implements in a thrift-shop book-bag or messenger bag with no distinctive features. Leave your phone and smart watch at home. Don't use Google to plan your itinerary. "Raising minimum wage" is the same thing as "Eliminating jobs of those on the bottom rung of the income ladder". Not that most of those people affected understand that, which is the fault of the people (mostly progs) who are teaching them (or, more accurately, not teaching them) in the schools and colleges.

“Unfortunately, the real minimum wage is always zero, regardless of the laws, and that is the wage that many workers receive in the wake of the creation or escalation of a government-mandated minimum wage, because they lose their jobs or fail to find jobs when they enter the labor force. Making it illegal to pay less than a given amount does not make a worker’s productivity worth that amount—and, if it is not, that worker is unlikely to be employed.” - Thomas Sowell
