I see Kamala is using alcohol as a come-on to Hispanic voters: Trump wants to tax "your tequila, Modelos, and Coronas."

Aggie said...: I know quite a few Hispanic people, some of them born in the US, some not. I've helped some get green cards, and employed them. But all of them, the ones I know, are hard working, and have a strong work ethic. To a 'one', they don't like the open border situation. It might be because it reminds them of what they've left behind, or it might be because they have a sharper vision of when it means, and what it will come to mean, in the near future - knowing what these people will bring with them. I think it's the latter that is dominant.

But quite a few of these people get relief, too - from the charities, from SNAP and the food banks, generally from the social safety net. And that will tend to split the vote, because that is the message they are susceptible to: The scare-mongering racist-classist message from Democrats, that Republicans will abolish these services.; 9/28/24, 9:01 AM
