Rand Paul is a smart guy. Good choice Rand!
Isn't it funny how a deranged leftist lunatic attacking you on your own property, breaking your ribs, and puncturing your lung for no other reason than being a conservative can affect one's political choices? It's like magic!
There is a huge advantage to the party that promises largess from the treasury. There is almost no negatives to that. When the house of cards does collapse, the person who made those gifts will be safely out of office (or at least wealthy enough to survive the economic ruin they ushered in.
When someone promises you OTHER people's money, they are not on your side. They are just buying your vote with your own money.
Alligator, Alligator, please eat me last
Or at least wait until my time is past
Of my friends and neighbors?
Eat your fill
If your belly’s full it’s only time you’ll kill
Can you be tamed?
Will you take a leash?
I refuse to be maimed or impeached
Maybe closing my eyes makes you go away
And my ignorance will keep you at bay
But everyone else should say their prayers
I got mine
Please go get theirs
Huh. Bari Weiss's new newssheet was just out this morning with some claim that Rand had NOT endorsed Trump
And Bari Weiss is a smart gal. An actual Journalist, who I suspect will hold her nose and vote for Trump

It was almost 43 years ago the Debt crossed the threshold of 1 trillion dollars.
Professional Accountants were aghast.
Good times, eh?
What a legacy for your children!
LBJ said that'll keep the n****rs voting democrat for the next 200 years.
One of America's most astute politicians.
Rand Paul, the Republican senator from Kentucky and famous libertarian contrarian, explained why he still hasn’t endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
In an interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box, Paul said he was “supportive” of the Republican nominee, but explained that he was holding back his endorsement due to concerns about the national debt.
“I’m a deficit hawk,” Paul told the program. “The Trump administration added $8 trillion. The Biden administration is going to add $8 trillion. This year, we’re going to add another $2 trillion.”
The Kentucky senator continued to rattle off a list of issues he had disagreements with Trump about—mostly concerning his administration’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As Trump left office, he was advocating for $2,500 checks again passed out to everybody. I’m not for that,” Paul said. The libertarian was one of only six Republicans to vote against the relief package passed in December 2020, which included stimulus checks for businesses and individuals.
In a press release from 2020, Paul again cited the national debt as his reasoning for voting against the spending package. “The answer is not printing up and distributing ‘free money.’ It’s opening the economy.” RAND PAUL a non entity...
Will the U.S. ultimately default on its debt?
This should not even be a question. Paul and all GOP elected officials should be hollering for Trump from the rooftops and highlighting the destructive, antiAmerican ideology of the Democrat Party. Instead, Trump fights alone, again.
There's an old line about "never betting against the good faith and credit of the United States". Never is a very very long time. Every man, woman, and child in this country currently shoulders $107,000 of the US debt burden ($35.3 Trillion dollars) and we now spend more to service the interest on that debt than we do annually for defense.
The USA will default. It is a matter of time. We are one series of calamities from the edifice of trust being shattered. It will be like 9/11...everyone will know where they were and what they were doing when it happens. The problem, as they say on Wall Street, is 'timing the market'.
But it will most certainly not be never.
Smart, to be sure. But even more to the point, he's honest and forthright. Can you think of another?
I remember when the US Budget was about $ 1 billion ! about 1960.
Yup. Also the most dishonest until Biden.
RSM is right. That time is coming. And soon.
He's not alone but the fraudsters will be busy again.
"Reagan proved deficits don't matter.
-- Dick Cheney
For what it is worth, I do not get the sense that tackling the deficit is a high priority for Trump if he wins. I suspect Rand Paul has this same sense of Trump, he just thinks the Democrats will be even worse. Given the ironically named, "Inflation Reduction Act," I think he is right.
Yes, the U.S will default on its debt, and it will result in a global financial collapse. That's part of the plan. It's also why those who planned this have worked feverishly to import lots of people who are ready, willing, and able to loot, plunder, and murder the native populations in most of the Western countries who have foolishly and voluntarily become "sanctuary suicide countries".
Harris is a disaster.
The left are truly the part of lies, rage and violence. They inspire rage with almost every utterance. and they simply do not care. They feel righteous in their rage.
For someone who’s concerned about the debt, the Republican Party ... controls the amount of the debt and has been for the last 4 years as they've held the purse strings of the country in the House.
Republicans are responsible for FUNDING the Democrat war machine and spending our grandchildren into utter dependence.
Scott Adams says we might be able to service the debt with crypto. I’m not sure how that would work. His idea includes taxpayers being able to pay their taxes with crypto. It might be one of the reasons Trump is interested in crypto.
As usual, Rand Paul is right. I don't get why Christopher B is puzzled with the article saying Paul didn't endorse Trump. I don't think anything he said constitutes an endorsement, When you're voting for the lesser of two evils, you aren't endorsing evil, just trying to limit the damage it does.
Trump is going to be left with a depleted military and a drained SPR. These are not on the books yet. And Trump is not going to do much to cut into the national debt.
There was a time when contracts required that debts be paid in gold. That is, pay in real money! Then the government changed the rules and said "paper money is still money, you simpleton! You'll take what you get."
I agree about Trump--he is not interested in fighting that fight.
Is there anyone on either side of the political fence who believes that the Democrat Party has any concern whatsoever about the deficit? Other than as an excuse for confiscating private property?
Crypto is just as unsound as the dollar unless it is backed by actual value. I don't understand how you "service the debt" by allowing taxpayers to pay with crypto. Or paying the creditors with crypto. Does he think the Chinese are stupid? Crypto without sound wealth backing it is wampum. (As is, more and more, the U.S. Dollar).
I am not sure that Bitcoin is the answer, but in order to use Bitcoin to service the debt you would have to devote yuge energy resources to mining Bitcoin. Maybe that's what he's talking about.
I think Trump wants to grow the economy enough to reduce the relative size of the debt but I fear he is getting a poisoned chalice.
