Joe says (or was it really Joe?) "Hamas leaders will pay for these crimes. And we'll continue working towards a deal. . ." So "Joe" will make them pay by doing a deal with them? I can just see them trembling. Meanwhile, go IDF. Finish them off.

It's looking increasingly like it was a mistake for Israel to back Hamas financially in the first place.

Had the Biden administration’s will not been bent and twisted in the months following the attack by the fiendish propaganda campaign causing them to worry about the war’s effect on Joe’s chances in Michigan—due to a population that effectively supported the terrorist monsters and cared not a whit for the eight Americans, let alone the 240 other innocents dragged into Hell—would Hersh and these others have survived? Imagine an Israel that had not found itself restrained and under assault, not told to pause, not scolded in pissy little phone calls with petulant American establishmentarians, without arms and aid held up, without being lectured about the geo-strategic value of going slow or not going at all.”

This is the language of people with no moral center to restrain their need to make themselves look good. The onus, once more, is on us for being insufficiently stupid or distracted to fail to notice this fact.

After all, if you're a leading Democrat who needs electoral votes, you can't really do too much to point out who the bad guys are in this situation. To be sure, it's a difficult place to find yourself, but the lack of self-awareness is striking. It's no surprise though. It's what we expect by now.

From Bill Ackerman's devastating X/Tweet:

Bill Ackman @BillAckman
Consider that Hamas chose to execute an American hostage with a bullet to the back of his head during the last two or three days (along with five other hostages) whose parents just spoke at the DNC less than two weeks ago, while hostage negotiations were underway.

Consider that the U.S. strategy over the last 330 days has been to pressure Israel to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, including through the withholding of weapons from @Israel, and by periodically leaking our failure to support our ally to the media in the midst of hostage negotiations.

Consider what pressure if any the U.S. has brought to bear on Hamas and our friends in the region who harbor Hamas’ leadership?

Why? Why has our leadership adopted this failed strategy?

Because @POTUS Biden (who has been on vacation for 16 days) and @KamalaHarris, who also just skipped a ceremony at Arlington Cemetery to honor 13 fallen soldiers from the failed Afghanistan withdrawal, along with their advisers in the DNC, believe they will lose important votes in certain key swing states and from Hamas supporters on campuses.

Biden/Harris made choices and those choices clearly led to this.

loudogblog said...

"Yeah this is all on Netanyahu." This has to be one of the dumbest things you've ever posted here. Hamas started this whole war on Oct 7th and Hamas is the one who actually kidnapped the hostages. If you take a bunch of hostages and one of them gets killed, you're 100% responsible for that. The kidnappers are always considered to be legally responsible for the safety of the hostages.

The US govt was fully on board with the payments to Hamas via Qatar to keep Hamas and the PA at each others throats.

But then Howard's beloved mad mullahs in Tehran were provided hundreds of billions by Howard's beloved obambi/biden/harris for the express purpose of the Iranians directly funding Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis at levels far beyond anything the Israelis could ever dream of providing to Hamas alone.

Hamas crossed an international border on October 7th and murdered 33 American citizens. That is either a declaration of war against the U.S., or a war crime.

A strong, intelligent U.S. President should have said that all American citizens held hostage shall be released by 5 PM tomorrow, or the U.S. will declare war on Gaza.

The Obama-Biden-Harris administration has worked tirelessly to undermine Bibi. (Election interference anyone?).

Does anyone think that the calls for a cease fire coming from the Democrats will benefit Israel in any way?

Obama thought of Israel (and the UK) as colonial powers and in need of destruction. Harris is much more of an Obama acolyte than Biden.

Enemy Within said...

It should be obvious by now that neither Hamas nor Netanyahu want a ceasefire let alone a settlement. Hamas is content to let Israel degrade itself through continuous war and political dysfunction, and Netanyahu knows that a ceasefire will lead to a reckoning over how his inept government ignored danger signs from Gaza, and will eventually land him back in court on corruption charges.

Unfortunately for the hostages this stalemate means they will likely die, and the Palestinian prisoners will stay imprisoned, so that Netanyahu can avoid justice and escalate the offensive in the West Bank. And Hamas can hope the conflict can broaden in the north further weakening Israel economically, diplomatically and morally.

Major demonstrations for a ceasefire today in Israel, still legal for now.

The Godfather said...

I understand why any American politician, who wants support from both Jewish and Muslim American voters, would voice support for a "Two-State Solution", but I can't see that such a "solution" exists. The "government" of Gaza has been committed to the destruction of Israel forever -- They don't want a peaceful modus vivendi with Israel. And why should they want a peaceful modus vivendi? That would leave Gaza as a little tail-end of the Israeli economic development giant. Great for the Gazan people, but not for their "political" leaders.
Before the creation of the State of Israel, Western Powers debated how to arrange the disposition of the remnants of the Ottoman Empire. In the end, (this is an oversimplification) most of what had been the Ottoman province of "Palestine" went to the Jews, while much of the rest of the Ottoman territories became parts of what are now (more or less) successful Muslim States.
The time has to come that historic conflicts are brought to an end. I say close down Gaza and develop a plan to resettle the "Gazans" in neighboring Arab/Muslim States.

William said...

Baby steps, but progress nonetheless. Rich and even his puppet Biden have not taken this opportunity to blame the ongoing tragedies in Gaza on Trump and his divisive rhetoric. Have we finally, at long last, found a world problem that is not Trump's fault? Or perhaps the ground work is being done. Next week Rich will give his puppet Biden a little more leash and allow him to openly criticize Netenyahu who is doing all these awful things because he has the backing of Trump.
