Hillary Clinton doubles down on "deplorables."

"In 2016, I famously described half of Trump’s supporters as 'the basket of deplorables.' I was talking about the people who are drawn to his racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia — you name it. The people for whom his bigotry is a feature, not a bug. It was an unfortunate choice of words and bad politics, but it also got at an important truth. Just look at everything that has happened in the years since, from Charlottesville to Jan. 6. The masks have come off, and if anything, 'deplorable' is too kind a word for the hate and violent extremism we’ve seen from some Trump supporters...."

Writes Hillary Clinton, in an excerpt from her new book, presented as a column in The Washington Post, under the headline "To err is human, to empathize is superhuman/Is there any way to drain the fever swamps so we can stand together on firmer, higher ground?"
In 2016... I was largely mocked or dismissed by many in the mainstream media stuck in a “both sides” straitjacket.... I do wish that back in 2016, people had heard the rest of my comments and not just the word “deplorables.” I also talked about the other half of Trump supporters... And, I emphasized, “those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.”...

As a Christian, I aspire to... radical empathy but often fall short. Talking about the “deplorables” in 2016, I said, “Some of those folks, they are irredeemable.” Part of me would still say this is objectively true... But another part of me wants to believe something else. I’d like to believe there’s goodness in everyone and a chance at redemption, no matter how remote.

I must say I laughed when I read "no matter how remote." It was intended as a laugh line, of course. So was "basket of deplorables" (and it got a laugh). And her original line — "Some of those folks, they are irredeemable" — was radically inconsistent with Christianity.

But somehow she could not say, As a Christian, I know that, with Christ, no one is irredeemable. She couldn't do it. She had to kick the deplorables one last time: Everyone has a chance at redemption, but for deplorables, it's remote.

ADDED: The teaser on the front page for this article is now "Hillary Clinton: What I learned canoeing with a former white supremacist." I didn't excerpt the part that has Hillary in a canoe, but it is there.

BLM and Antifa are DNC Brownshirt militias. They torched and looted every major city during the Summer of George. The DNC/Intel cartel openly employs and endorses violence on a huge, paramilitary scale. Hillary is, of course, the greatest of all feminist icons, always introduced as such. Althouse keeps positing a virtuous, intellectual feminism, but the great icon of feminism is a demonic liar who put the world at risk of nuclear war with her Russia collusion hoax, and she’s an outspoken advocate of censorship and persecution of those she sees peddling “disinformation.” I keep wondering when Althouse will notice that this is the reality of feminism.

There's something interesting that happens when college-educated people join the Army and have to lead and mix and associate with tons of other people from humbler means and sub-cultures you know nothing about. You might come from a wealthier, more educated background with a mandate to lead and make decisions, but you never ever and under no circumstances insult them.

That's what Hitlery and her kind are all about. They are 'to the manor born', and being manor-born means thumbing your nose at hard-working hoi-polloi when a person like Clinton has never done an honest day's work in her life.

The only deplorables are Hillary Flick and her entire fucking caste. They produce nothing but consternation and animosity. She is neither ethical nor a leader.

I wouldn't look to HIllary Clinton to explain the doctrine on redemption and certainly I'm no theologian myself but I do think she's well wide of the mark when it's come to that topic. As if anyone is ever worthy or likely to obtain redemption, I think the doctrine is otherwise.

I've always wondered if she really believes it was worth it, all the compromises she made on her path to fame and fortune. She's another big laugher, like Kamala Harris. But they don't really seem all that happy, there's always a certain vacancy there, the dead eye look when they think no one's watching.

I'm only a few years younger than Hillary, and I try to imagine what it would have been like to know her when she was 20 years old. A convert to Alinsky from her early teen support for Goldwater. She stopped questioning herself decades ago. That being so, those who are resistant are either stupid or evil. She is sincere, at least as to this. She can't help herself. So Hillary had been First Lady (i.e., "wife") under a relatively successful or at least popular President, so she was a "Mamie Eisenhower" (who didn't run for anything as I recall).
Then she "relocated" (?) to the (almost?) most Democrat state in the Union and was elected to the Senate.
And then when a Democrat was elected President, she got appointed as Secretary of State and illegally used private emails to conduct government business so she could hide the use of her government position to promote her private interests.
Have I got that right?
Now, what is it that she says about Trump's character?

None of that Christian stuff was in Clinton's actual remarks. She did go on to say that the other basket, the other half of Trump supporters included "people we have to understand and empathize with as well," but when the message was that Trump's appeal was to the "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it," it's not likely that Clinton was going to do anything to help out Americans "who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures." Throw increasingly worthless money at them, sure, but not do anything to bring back their jobs and dignity.

Look at how Clinton frames things now. Trump supporters are in the "fever swamps" or are the "fever swamps," they are "the madness" or part of "the madness." Democrats are on "firmer, higher ground." And empathy with the other side: is it "hard, but necessary" or is it "superhuman?" Would "empathetic" Hillary behave any differently? She'd still muddy our politics with the "Putin's puppet" talk. After Biden, I suspect that any politician who talks about empathy is likely to have real problems showing empathy or acting upon it. Political calculations are too ingrained, and professions of empathy are usually just for show.

Hillary Clinton is the most corrupt individual to run fo the Presidency since James Blaine in 1884. Her corruption is so pervasive that I cannot help but question the moral compass of anyone who voted for her.

Second is her contempt for, and willingness to flout laws and regulations, as they apply to her. If it constrained her conduct in any way, then it was to be ignored.

Last, but not to be ignored, is her technological ignorance. Remember “the vast right-wing conspiracy”? It was just the plain old Internet. Truth! She and her toadies did not understand it, but they also discovered that they could not control it. So it must be a right wing conspiracy. Plus, when it comes to the Internet, “vast” does not begin to describe its size. More to the point, there is a reason why those regulations they she flouted are in place. I imagine that foreign intelligence services were reading messages from Obama to her before she was.

So only a quarter of the country is scum, not half like we thought she meant.
