"Eating the Cats ft. Donald Trump (Debate Remix)."

I saw this yesterday afternoon, so maybe you've seen it already:

Let's see more credit to the creator, The Kiffness, who appends this note about his motives: "Disclaimer: as a South African, I am non-partisan in my support for either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump in the US elections. I just thought the clip of Trump was funny and I wanted to make it into a song that could make a difference in the lives of animals. Whatever your political offiliation [sic], dogs & cats unite us!"

And watch some other things from The Kiffness. They're not all about cats, but some are — like "Ha Hee" and "I Go Meow" and "The Kiffness X Alugalug Cat 2.0 (Please Go Away)."

Here's the Spotify playlist for The Kiffness.

Now, that’s funny as hell. What strange things social media has done to music.

Shouting Thomas said...

Besides the humor, which was great, the song produced the strange effect of putting a spotlight on Trump’s empathy for a community that we’re not supposed to care about… the people of Springfield who are being displaced from their own community. Trump really does care about people.

All the different Don't eat the cats or dogs memes on X (often moved over from TikTok) are really hugely entertaining. When Trump initially said that in the debate, I cringed a little. He's so quick to repeat the unsubstantiated things swirling around on social media but he does have a knack for picking up on something that strikes a chord. It often leaves me wondering if he really is brilliantly intuitive?

I just saw this song made up of quotes (from Trump) at the debate. It has a kind of poetry to it

As far as the presidential debate reality show, Trump has people quoting his lines where the other competitor is barely remember as being on the island. What's her name again?

This whole situation has the making of a grand intersectional opera. Who is the most oppressed? The dirt poor Haitians, the put upon people of the struggling town of Springfield, or the town's dogs, cats and waterfowl?

But Trump and Vance are flat out lying about this and putting people's lives in danger (evacuations of government buildings twice in two days to check for bombs).

This reminds me of the furry hysteria a year or two ago. Schools were letting children who identified as cats were being allowed to use litterboxes rather than the toilet. Turned out to be total bullshit even though a lot of you (including Althouse) kept harping on it.

Christopher Rufo reports that they found one confirmed case of cats on the grill in nearby Dayton, OH

We spoke with the author of the video, who asked to remain anonymous but confirmed its time, location, and authenticity. He told us that he was picking up his son last summer, when he noticed the unusual situation. “It was some Africans that stay right next door to my kid’s mother,” he said. “This African dude next door had the damn cat on the grill.”

We then identified the home by matching it to the visuals in the video and cross-referencing it with the eyewitness. When we knocked on the door of the first unit, a family answered, telling us they were from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and that all of the surrounding units were occupied by other African migrants.

One of the residents told us that her former neighbors, also from Africa, had lived in the adjacent unit until last month. They had a blue grill and the father would find meat in the neighborhood. “Her dad was going to find meat,” she said.

Yet, this is a lie repeated by both Trump and Vance. And it is putting people in danger with Springfield having to check for bombs two days in a row.

This reminds me of the "furry" hysteria a year or two ago. Where a bunch of you actually believed schools were letting students use litterboxes instead of the toilet. And Ann gave credence to the nonsense.

CBS REPORTS Great Song and its the message of the internet among all people with memes and laugh ins galore. From CBS news and Dewines ,governors point of view. After Covid workers left leaving a lot of job openings and employers are happy to have PEOPLE be able to fill them NOT ILLEGAL, look it up.. Springfield, Ohio — At the St. Vincent de Paul Society community center in Springfield, Ohio, Haitian immigrants receive food and clothes and get help finding work.
"They're here and they're our responsibility," said Kaci Rollins, who runs the community center. Since 2020 its not a new thing pay attention.
Rollins tells CBS News that the supplies are an open-armed welcome for asylum seekers fleeing violence and starvation from countries in collapse.
Rollins said the migrants "want work," adding that some of them "work three jobs, they never stop working."
Since 2020, about 15,000 Haitians have settled in Springfield. The city has a population of just under 60,000.

Republican Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced Wednesday that in an effort to deal with the "surge of migrants" in Springfield, he is deploying Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers to patrol Springfield's roads, as well as providing $2.5 million in healthcare funding.
These Haitians came in here to work because there were jobs, and they filled a lot of jobs," DeWine told CBS News in an interview Wednesday. "And if you talk to employers, they've done a very, very good job and they work very, very hard."
But when it comes to immigration, Springfield has become tense since last August, when a minivan driven by a Haitian immigrant without a valid license collided head-on with a school bus, killing 11- year-old Aiden Clark.
And on Tuesday night, former President Donald Trump poured fuel on the local grievances by repeating a baseless conspiracy theory during the debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.
"In Springfield, they're eating the dogs, the people that came in, they're eating the cats. They're… eating the pets of the people that live there, and this is what's happening in our country, and it's a shame," Trump said.
Moderator David Muir immediately responded, reading a statement from the Springfield city manager saying, "There have been no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community."
DeWine on Wednesday echoed that, telling CBS News that "there's no truth" to Trump's claims.
And while the claims are false, the pain in the migrant community has been real for long time.
We try every single day to make us better," one migrant told CBS News. "And when you make us better, the neighborhood is going to be better, the city is going to be better."
Springfield was once a manufacturing hub. Since 2000, those manufacturing jobs have dropped by nearly half, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, from about 13,000 to 7,000 in 2024.
Haitian immigrants, most of whom have temporary protected status and work permits, have been blamed for stealing jobs. But business owners like job recruiter Alex Muller see their presence as vital. Muller says many locals left the workforce during the pandemic.
"They've been very welcoming, they've been very kind, and they're very grateful to have the opportunity to provide for themselves and their families," Muller said.
It's a complicated issue that cannot be divided along political lines. Nathan Clark, the man whose son was killed in last year's bus crash. understands that more than anyone.
"Using Aiden as a political tool is, to say the least, reprehensible," Clark said at a Springfield City Commission meeting Tuesday. "…My son, Aiden Clark, was not murdered. He was accidentally killed by an immigrant from Haiti. This tragedy has (been) felt all over this community, the state and even the nation, but don't spin this towards hate." Yup Politics always looking for a tool for their talking points.

NGO's have been the forefront of placing various foreign migrants in the US. The Auroro apartment issue with the Venezuelans is an example. The NGO's negotiated with the apartment owners to place the Venezuelans . The said they had jobs. That was a a lie. They(NGO's) paid 2 months rents

How did the 20,000 Haitians get to Springfield Oh? They were placed there by NGO's People that have TSP are usually people that illegally immigrated into the US .I worked with a lot of these. The TSP designation allows these people to stay for a while. However they often have not done legal immigration. Once the TSP status ends , they are subject to deportation.

https://thepostmillennial.com/illegal-immigrant-charged-in-death-of-11-year-old-after-school-bus-crash-on-first-day-of-school

When searching for the story, I kept trying to link a MSM story that the Leftists on the blog would find palatable. Every single one only referred to him as an "immigrant".

AFAIK, in every single news story that I read from the MSM where there is some narrative that fits the priorities of the Democrat Party, there is obvious bias or omissions in service of that narrative. I literally NEVER see, "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth".

Chris Rufo has proof of illegal aliens grilling cats in the back yard in Dayton. Close enough to Springfield. It's happened.

Property taxes? They arrived sometime in the last 36 months. How did they save the 20% down that is generally required for a home loan in such a short time? All while paying rent and buying a car and paying for gas and food and childcare and barbeque sauce and charcoal lighter and all the expenses required to live life in Springfield, Ohio today? And that's not to mention sending money back home to their families in Haiti?
Did they have that much money saved up and good credit when they arrived? If so, life in Haiti must not be all that bad so why are they getting TPS in the first place?
The fact is, the taxpayers are subsidizing their living expenses. The taxpayers are paying their sales taxes. Did Congress authorize that expenditure?

I think Vance's answer would be, the Haitian immigrants are here on Temporary Protected Status. They're not constituents. They aren't voters. They aren't part of the electorate. They're people living in my state, so they are my concern, but the citizens of Ohio should come first.

Yancey Ward said...

If they aren't permanent residents they are not his constituents.

RAH said...

"The 2021 United States Supreme Court case Sanchez v. Mayorkas affirmed that temporary protected status only granted legal status to remain in the country and was not equivalent to lawful admission into the country. Thus, those immigrants that had entered the country unlawfully but had received temporarily protected status are ineligible to apply for permanent resident status simply through virtue of their temporary protected status.[ Per Wikipedia
Hence the question of legal status.

“ The Harris campaign, the media and the public are talking about what Trump wants them to talk about, the impact of sudden mass immigration on ordinary Americans and their communities.”

Exactly. 7-10% of the US population mostly secretly imported into this country in the last 3 1/2 years, with little vetting for criminality, disease, etc. This is one of the last thing the Harris/Walz campaign wants to talk about. The Biden/Harris did it as much as they could, in secret, and mostly without Congressional approval. It’s bankrupting cities and states around the country, and esp those run by Democrats. And beggering our federal government along the way. Just so that the Dems can have a new decent class of voters to replace their former bases that they are losing, or have lost. Overall, it’s fairly unpopular, and the more people know about it, the more unpopular it becomes.

So whine all you want. Sure, some things aren’t factually fully literally accurate. But it’s figuratively correct, and that is what matters. These recent imports by the Biden/Harris/Walz junta aren’t assimilating very well. Too many, too quickly, and it is likely that they prefer it that way. Every week has another outrage, with these illegals getting some benefit or another bestowed on them, by the Dems, leaving the rest of us out in the cold, footing the bill.

Watched the Trump rally last night (in the DJT bar in Trump International) and everyone there would go crazy when domestic animals were brought up. The memes, the videos, the photoshops, are all great fun. The more that the Dems huff and puff, trying to tell us that that group of illegals isn’t doing quite that, just lets everyone know that they are over the target, and more people jump onboard the cute pet joke train.

"I never said I believed Trump's assertion. I don't know if it's true. "

Trump: "2 +2 =5. I know its true, I've seen people on television"

Althouse: "I don't know if it's true."

"The fascists, like Freder et al, losing their shit over it is just hilarious and worth a bit of untruth."

If there was nothing to it, they (most likely, anyway) wouldn't be losing their shit over it.

Do you think they are his constituents, Rich?

Doesn't one have to be a citizen to be a constituent? Most of the Haitians are aliens. Some, perhaps children born here,. may be citizens.
From dictionary. Com

having power to frame or alter a political constitution or fundamental law, as distinguished from lawmaking power:
a constituent assembly.

a person who authorizes another to act on their behalf, such as a voter in a district represented by an elected official.
Grammar. an element considered as part of a construction. Compare immediate constituent, ultimate constituent.

Moly, normally I would care if it is true but I no longer do. It upsets you and other fascists and that is good enough for me.

Enjoy the ride. I certainly am.

President trump won the debate with this point. Nobody is talking about anything Harris said, or pdjt. Even you. All anyone rembrs is the failure of the border czar to address illegal aliens.

Seems like a clear win for our president

"Watched the Trump rally last night (in the DJT bar in Trump International) "

Even money says the drinks there are ridiculously overpriced.

Breitbart said that policy is downstream of culture. This is hot spot in cultural memes. So many younger people get news and absorb their values from memes. Trump picks up on cultural issues fast. He amplifies them. I doubt he expected this reaction. I am sure he enjoys it.

Never knew about Journo.host. Checked it out . Very progressive leftists at that site. Humans love cute , furry animals. So the eating the pets strikes a very emotional cord. I have 2 cats. Thankfully they do not act like so many in these cat videos. I do enjoy the cat videos. These memes also are a lot of fun.

Not surprised the left hates the fun. Especially since the mocking is pointed at them. Until this blew up , I had no idea of the 20,000 Haitians in Springfield Ohio. How did they get there? I doubt they heard about the low cost of living and jobs in Haiti. I am aware that NGOs are used to place foreign migrants in the US and In Europe. They get big money from governments. The funding of these NGOs need be explored.
I have wondered about the placement of refugees in small towns.
For instance during the great migrant rush of Muslims into Europe, Muslims were place in great numbers into small towns and villages. They basically change the population instantly. These Muslims had different culture and legal practices. Like Sharia law.
The existing people had no recourse of resisting the invasion of foreigners. Yet the crime, rape , hygiene, eating habits, culture get imposed on them. This is not fair.
