"Jewish Republicans are smearing Kamala Harris as anti-Israel.... Harris and her husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, have a strong pro-Israel and pro-Jewish record."

 Writes Rob Eshman in Forward.

Less than a day after President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential campaign and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination, the Republican Jewish Coalition launched a series of tweets calling Harris “a total disaster for Israel” and “disgraceful,” falsely accusing her of refusing to condemn a Hamas supporter during a speaking engagement at a college.

Piling on, David Friedman, who served as ambassador to Israel in the Trump administration, wrote on X, “There is now the widest gap in American history between the two candidates’ support for Israel. Donald Trump is the best ever — Kamala Harris would be the worst.”...

There's also this from last April: "Emhoff calls Columbia University leaders amid campus unrest/White House side steps getting drawn in to the campus protests" (Politico).

“The Second Gentleman recognized that while every American has the right to freedom of speech and to protest peacefully, hate speech and calls for violence against Jews is both antisemitic and unacceptable,” said the official, who was granted anonymity to describe private conversations.

Anyone want to fact check this? Biden has certainly been all over the place.

Then I'm sure it should be incredibly easy for Joe Biden and/ or Kamala Harris to meet Benjamin Netanyahu.

I'm sure Israel is starting to panic. Aside from Hamas still existing, the strike on their territory from the Houthis was a warning- one they don't have a good answer for.

Ah well, I'm sure Bloomberg/ Katzenberg was a large chunk of President Hobag's record setting $100 million haul.

Bullshit. She has a strong pro-Hamas record and she is presently refusing to sit as Senate President (an official role of VP) because the Jewish leader is speaking to that body. Her and her step-daughter raised funds for Hamas and for the "rioters" who blocked Jews from Ivy campuses. Who cares what "pro-Israel" platitudes she has mouthed? Her husband couldn't even explain Chanukah in that cringy video they put out!

I am interested in hearing VP Harris discuss her views on American foreign policy in the Middle East. Whether she's pro or anti-Israel, I don't think is the issue, I think the issue is understanding what her position is as to our overall foreign policy in the region, which would include Israel and the Palestinians.

You missed CDR Salamander's work linked at Instapundit, then. America has dropped a lot of ordnance- more than two year's worth of production, actually. And if blowing up cranes (ha!) even slows down the Houthis, never mind the Iranians, I will be surprised.

So I'm not really sure how 'pro Israel' Doug and Kamala are. Further, from what I hear, Kamala is not going to be seen anywhere near Netanyahu while he's here in the US, speaking to our Congress. I'd say that's a pretty strong 'pro' Israel stance, huh?

And as a Jew, I can tell you that I've seen a lifetime full of such Jews as Emhoff and such 'Liberals' as Kamala. They are progressives first, anything else in whatever order comes after that. They don't like Netanyahu and would do anything to remove him from office. IF Kamala shows up to meet or watch Netanyahu, it would be only because not showing up would look worse to Jewish voters.

But then what about Michigan?

Temujin said...

Mike (MJB Wolf) said: "(And why the hell didn't WE bomb the damn pirates?)"

Exactly. Israel is doing much of the world's dirty work by having to go at the Islamic fascists by themselves. Why the US, or the UK or any Western nation who's shipping is affected by these attacks would not do anything other than give words to people who only understand action, is beyond me.

This is how the “news” reports things they don’t like; things that go against their narrative. I bet their “falsely” is false…

Or if there was something they’ll point to as “condemnation” it’s more likely a begrudging mumbled comment when called out on her lack of condemnation.

But I could be wrong. I don’t often listen to anything this word salad spewing, cackling, witch has to say.

Can you explain in detail why and how "that is what the Second Gentleman is"?

(BTW, "self-hating Jew' is a phony term, a term of propaganda coined by Jewish Zionists to discredit in a phrase Jews who oppose Zionism and Israel's oppression of the Palestinians. Rather than argue against anti-Zionist Jews with rational discourse, Zionists smear them as somehow psychologically disturbed. In short, they cannot defend Zionism and counter criticisms of its policies, so they employ crude invective, essentially resorting to their own form of "anti-semitism." It's equivalent to white bigots calling whites who support(ed) civil rights and equal rights for blacks as "n----r lovers.")

Years later when I visited Israel for the first time, I saw the fruits of that effort and the Israeli ingenuity that has truly made a desert bloom. I soaked in the sights and sounds and smells of Jerusalem. I stood in Yad Vashem, devastated by the silent testimonies of the six million Jews that were murdered in the Holocaust, and we must always remember that solemn promise, never again.”)

Don Jr. and his father are incredibly pro-Israel, but that might change if American Jews try to tell the Trumps who they can and cannot talk to. Ben Shapiro (any relation to Josh?) tried to cancel Candace, and he failed. Too bad. Move on and enjoy the peak of Jewish influence in America. While it lasts.

Give me a break! Yes, Harris with her Jewish Husband and her Jewish backers and her Jewish staff will be Anti-Israel.

LOL.

The more interesting point is how Pro-American will she be? Because like Obama, she has had very little contact with native born Americans or at least the white Christian ones. She was born to an Indian Mother (Shyamala Gopalan) and Jamacian father in SF Bay area. She spent almost all her teen years in Quebec, went to african-American Howard U, and then hooked with Willie Brown and rose to be SF DA, California AG, and then Senator. She married her Jewish husband rather late in the day, 2014 at the age of 50.

The idea that she'll be anything but a slave to Israel's interest, just like Biden, Pelosi, and schumer is absurd! Look forward to her wearing an israeli flag pin and babbling about her love for Bibi. But thankfully we'll be spared the goofy stories about "Praying for Israel" every night.

Rosalyn C. said...

When I hear that a Jew is anti-Zionist what that means imo is that they do not deeply identify with the Jewish people. They do not have an emotional or spiritual connection. Therefore when their own personal experience is threatened by the existence of the state of Israel they come out against Israel. Why would their existence be threatened by Israel? Because they identify more with the Left than they do as Jews. In fact, many of these anti-Zionist Jews have made this position their careers. Their Jewish identity is their entry ticket to a world of Jew haters who gladly quote anything a person with a Jewish sounding last name has to say against Israel. They’re called self hating Jews because they make a living out of trying to hurt the Jewish people. These self hating Jews would prefer to stay silent than to advocate for the right of the Jewish people to have a nation when that nation is maligned as colonialist rather than recognized as the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people.
I listen to the response that Harris gave to that student in Arizona. Well, I recognize her skill and deflecting the issue unfortunately her position was based on an error. No one really knows how much the people in Gaza support Hamas but they did vote for Hamas in 2006. So when Harris claimed that Hamas is separate from the people of Gaza is that a deliberate mistake or ignorance? When politicians like Biden talk about a “two state solution” if they don’t understand the basis of the conflict is the Hamas ideology then those politicians are actually supporting the creation of a terrorist state next to Israel. That’s not what a friend would do.

The money and lawfare matter much more than the votes. 70% is the percentage of Jews who approve of the war on Americans.

Rosalyn C. said...

I don't want to waste my time on anti-semitic comments (do we have Nick Fuentes fans here?) but what does "twenty years of relentless pandering by the GOP [to Jews]" actually mean? Can someone be more specific?

Are you referring to countering Obama's anti-Israel stance? Until very recently Israel has been a bi-partisan issue and only recently Democrats have made a point of being "pro-Palestinian" and calling for the extinction of Israel.

Furthermore, Republican recognition of conservative evangelicals would be pandering to Christians who support Israel, not specifically to Jews. (Evangelical and born again Christians number about 85-100 million people.)

Throughout my personal experience the Republican Party has had a reputation of pandering to wealthy conservative country club Christians who have had a reputation for racism and regressive social policies. That's why there were so many Never Trumpers in the Republican Party.

The main reason Jews have supported Democrats has been because of their strong Jewish progressive social values -- equality and fairness to minorities. And people tend to continue the political identification of their parents. It's not easy to change that but the Israel issue may be significant.

What does the "war on Americans" mean? Is this the Fuentes POV?

I could go on, but the point is that Israel is and has been a strong American ally. Hamas is and has been an enemy of America as well as of Israel. That's reason enough that the US should support Israel against Hamas.

If Vice President Harris expresses her opposition to Israel and her support for Hamas by declining to perform her Constitutional duty as Vice President to preside over the Senate (which is the Vice President's ONLY duty under the Constitution except to wait for the President to die), then that's a fine reason not to vote for her when she runs for President.
