I had a building vandalized with graffiti many, many years ago. Swastikas, spray painted skulls, balloons filled with house paint were thrown at the building, etc. I don't know who did this -- maybe a former tenant I evicted or a current tenant's ex-boyfriend or something. I'm actually rather easy going and non-confrontational, so I don't know who had a beef with me. But I wouldn't mind knowing so I could kick his ass.
Anyways, it was almost impossible to remove the spray paint without damaging the brick. Acid or sandblasting or chemical paint remover or whatever were all completely inadequate. And it was happening so often that I had to find a brown paint that closely matched the brick and just paint over the offensive symbols. My point is is that these vandals are sick bastards and should be punished severely. Like a year in a jail and $ 50,000 fines...

I've told my recruiter that I will not be considering positions in central cities at any salary level, and I say that as someone who has lived and worked in Manhattan for significant periods of time over the years. I'm only looking at suburban and rural positions now.
Unfortunately, my industry is heavily concentrated in very Blue cities, and I'm a white guy in my 50s, so I think it is going to be a long search, even with hybrid/remote employment growing in popularity. If I were to hand any pointers to the cops for the next 4 months, I would start by suggesting they recruit starting at 200 lb and upwards, focusing on hockey players, and offering hazard pay, with public notices that 'Peaceful Protest is fundamental to the health of our Republic, but violence is unlawful and will be met with swift redress'. And I would add that once the violence starts against uniformed officers, the ubiquitous response should be something that takes a rioter out of the action for at least 3 months. This would be a soothing balm for the voters and a useful measure for the professional protesting class - like the Dial 1-800 Antifaone we're apparently seeing in WDC today.

I guess to their way of thinking Christopher Columbus is the OG settler and it's fitting and proper that his monument should be defaced for a protest against Israel. Tell me which of those items are wrong and why they're wrong. And then do this:
