You can't make an event out of feeling good about anything anymore. How dare you celebrate?

Love it. The left is a self-centered clown show. Are we seeing the breakdown in the bullshit intersectionality?

When is the naked bike parade scheduled in Madison? Or is that to save the planet only?

Yes. Good. Fight.

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

American decadence.

I'm so sick of having rainbows shoved up my ass, I get pissed when one appears after a sun shower. Keep your pot of gold. Just STFU.

Progressivism is the paralyzing, mortifying fear that someone, somewhere dares to feel good. Cuz genocide! Climate! Inequality! Racism! Except for feeling good about getting Trump--that's fine.

Aggie said...

The Progressive Left's 'Feelin' Good !' moments always comes at the expense of someone else's well-being. The Progressive Left's 'Protest The Issue !' moments, ditto. Fun to see them being outraged at each other's expense, that doesn't happen enough.

Stop the Genocide In Gaza. Arrest bibi and the other Israeli war criminals. Hey Genocide Joe, stop giving Israel bombs to kill brown kids in Gaza.

That should be the message.

As for "waah, waah, we just want to have fun, no more politics". When has the Liberal/left ever believed that?

As of Ace at Ace of Spades would so fondly put it, "How dare these palestinian protesters disrupt a pride parade! Really guys? During pride month!?!? DURING PRIDE MONTH!?!?!?"

Might be a useful moment of clarity for those Gays for Palestine folks. The moose out front shoulda told ya.

Get over there and take up the good fight ROCEAN. Or is that all you got? Empty mind depraved ravings? I know it’s been done better by others, but for gosh sakes, put down the crack pipe.

And to top it off last I found a rat in my bird feeder! Now I have to take it down. The birds, of all genders, will no longer be able to eat in my yard.

Wait'll the Ayatollahs find out the guy in the dildo suit is an "ally". With allies like that, who needs kaffirs.

Yesterday a neighbor called the fire department to get her kitty out of tree. Three different groups showed up to protest.

One group was for animal rights, they accused the neighbor animal slavery and compared the fire dept to slave catchers of the old south.

Another said the fire department was contributing to global warming because they brought the big truck.

The third group was outraged that the firemen had culturally appropriated their dress from the Village People.

Meantime a lady from the HOA handed the neighbor an official written notice that it was a violation for pets to be in trees on even days of the month.

Like American secular Jews before them, gays are starting to wake up to the fact that they give their money and their support to a party that turns around and supports people that want to murder Jews and gays. Smart. Gays have been taught all their lives to hate Christians, but I’ve never heard of any Christians advocating for the execution of gays.

Now if they could all crash into the climate protesters…

Albinophobia. Do the terrorists celebtate prides in parades? The Africans hunt them in pre and post-colonial Springs.

PrimoStL said...

It's shocking how ugly they all are. There's not a last call 5/10 among them. Every single pride event I've ever seen is the same. Says a lot about the LGBT movement.

This is a built-in consequence of powerful subcultures demanding that everyone else yield public space to increasingly fringe elements of their identity group.

25 years ago, when I was still a Democrat lobbyist, we were required by our boards to attend and volunteer at Pride events, even though they had nothing to do with our mission statement. The same was definitely not true in reverse. In the hierarchy of identity politics that had already subsumed the entire DNC apparatus, we were unilaterally forced to perform for the preferred LGBTQ lobby.

I was repulsed then to be made to witness multiple public sex acts at Pride events. If that isn't sexual harassment on the job, what is? Major corporations were shaken down by Pride using different types of political force.

And that's what Pride Parades really are: raw political flexing. They didn't cease to exist when the activists got everything -- and more -- on their wish lists. They got vastly outsized portions of our public health, medical care, and research apparatus, leaving far less for far, far greater numbers of people with equally or more severe illnesses. They got superior law and court protections compared with other crime victims. They got endless taxpayer subsidies -- graft to run their social movement on our dime. The parade-goers themselves got exemptions from public behavior that would send anyone else to jail or a mental hospital. And so on.

Now another leftist group is copying their tactics while the LGBTQ lobby is deploying Pride to continue their vast shakedown. It isn't a fun event. It's a political tactic to maintain political dominance and submission, and that power play is being threatened by another lobby's power play. No coincidence this is being played out through S&M optics.

Just thought that deserved repeating.

Take the above allegation about health care, for instance. Are those who smoke for decades and then get lung cancer allowed to claim that lung cancer "affects all of us"? That their suffering just happened, with no decisions and no action from them? That there's no moral commentary to be made about their condition? Did the American pharmaceutical industry undertake a more or less Manhattan project to address lung cancer?

Are smokers who aren't presently dying from lung cancer encouraged to keep smoking, since they don't presently have lung cancer?

What is it about sex and the left? I have no animus with gay people and no problem with the fact that some people are gay. But whence this conviction that we all need to watch the gayness play out? My husband and I don't even hold hands in public.

Checking your racist, homophobic, website (assuming you and tinatrent.com are the same person), I find it hard to believe you were ever a "Democrat Lobbyist".

Well, if "grow[ing] up" means turning into a raging racist and homophobe, maybe I should change my name to Peter Pan rather than Freder Frederson.

Please don't. Peter Pan was my favorite Disney Character when I was a little kid. Don't ruin it...pretty please??

Do you think he's trying to send out the signal he's a chicken-neck?

Narr said...

I never could stand Peter Pan. The whole story seemed queer to me, before I had any notion of gay people.

The local media cover the Pride Month events here every day, and often lead with them. The murders and shootings get less coverage (unless there's a LGBTQ$#! angle of course).

I don’t know. Watching that made me feel pretty good.

Freder: my website is neither racist nor homophobic, but thanks for publicizing the link. I wouldn't use Althouse to promote myself, but if you do it -- well, it's her choice to remove both of our comments.

Tina Trent said...

And, Freder, with the exception of my epidemological analysis of healthcare spending and criminological analysis of criminal law, I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said for two decades by countless gay journalists about the politics, profits, and extreme behavior that has transformed Pride events. Are they homophobic?

Was it last year that climate activists glued themselves to the street to block to some pride parade somewhere? Flare-ups between various groups like this is what you get when your political alliance isn't based on widespread shared values and policies but rather hatred and fear of an other. Once all there are no more bourgeoisie to go after the proletariat revolution has to turn on something else.

You probably don't believe Matt Taibbi was a writer at Rolling Stone or that Glenn Greenwald is still left of center.

Also, what's with the reduplicative moniker? I remember when there were a lot of them back in the day - Blarty Blackleblart, Montagne Montaigne, etc. Seems you're one of the few holdouts.

When political assemblages gain power over the society systems they break again into their composite parts because the unifying quest for power over perceived enemies then moves into the exercising of power over others and that always has a hierarchy of one system or goal over others.

****************

He cribbed it from the main character in Fritz Lang's 1927 movie, Metropolis". He's used at least one other character name ("Arturo Ui", from a Brecht play ) here.

Seems he's a fanboy for early German artsy-fartsy stuff.

Now I'm confused. Are the pro-Palestine protesters a subset of the Gay Pride celebrants, or an antagonistic opposition to the LBGQT+ agenda, that just happens to support Palestine. I'm gonna need a diagram of the intersectionality here, it is getting internally and externally self-contradictory.
