Madame Macron was seen at the Normandy ceremonies asking Biden:

"Mr. President, are you sitting on that nice mushroom quiche I made for you?"

Biden: "I sure hope so!"

Big day in space. StarShip's 4th launch looked to achieve all objectives. The booster returned for a simulated landing in the Gulf of Mexico and Ship returned from orbit and landed in the Indian Ocean, as planned. Bravo!

Boeing's Starliner had a disturbing problem with thrusters, but did achieve docking with the Space Station.

In fairness to Biden, which of us has never cut a fart that turned out to have a surprise inside.

I haven't been following Hunter's trial that closely. I did see a picture of a stripper that he took home for a few days. She apparently testified at his trial. Just about his crack use though. I would have liked to hear a detailed description of his sex play. What we have learned from the Trump trial is that such testimony is important for judging a defendant's guilt or innocence.... I wonder if the stripper will be able to profit either in money or fame the way Stormy did. I think if you're a sex worker, the big bucks come if you're involved in a scandal with a Republican or a clergyman. There's not much secondary income if you're involved with a Democrat. That woman with Spitzer never got to pick up a few bucks with a sex tape or whatever.

Sage advice for elderly guys:

Saw a news blurb that Trump will be in San Francisco.
Expect massive demonstrations against the despised President who :

"President Donald Trump toured areas devastated by the Camp Fire in California on Saturday, pledging federal assistance to the state and the thousands of people whose homes were damaged or destroyed in the most destructive and deadly wildfire in state history."

AND:

"Trump will send massive hospital ship to Port of Los Angeles amid coronavirus pandemic
The USNS Mercy — one of the Navy's two 1,000-bed hospital ships — should arrive at the massive cargo complex off San Pedro next week, officials said. The ship is currently in San Diego."

Seriously, Cogent facts related to Stormy getting screwed and paid hush money by Trump have nothing at all to do with Hunter's relationship with strippers. Hell, the media even called Hunter's last wife a stripper. For that matter, how did Client #9 have anything to do with Trump or Hunter?

He is being hosted by a very wealthy VC, David Sacks.

It sounds like he has previously voted democrat but is fed up:

Nut-job Alex Jones is declaring Chapter 7 bankruptcy to liquidate his personal assets to make at least partial payments to Sandy Hook families. His attorney says the legal maneuver ultimately “means Jones’ ownership in Free Speech Systems (Infowars) is going to get sold,” at some small percentage of the business value.

But more likely, the legal maneuver means that Jones disposes of his $1.5 billion obligation in exchange for a day job that keeps him on the airways at an exorbitant salary.

I'm in California at present - I'd call it the close-in burns of Sacramento, though there is no separation between where I am and the city proper.

On my morning walks, I'm noting large, frontally placed, new-looking Trump flags. Multiple. As my husband (a native Southern Californian who has always maintained that California is actually a conservative state) said, it's not surprising that he has support; it's quite surprising that any of his supporters are willing to go public about it.

Disagree with anything this corrupt administration is forcing on us, and YOU too will be indicted on felonies to shut you up.....

"A few years ago, Texas Children’s Hospital made no secret of its support for transgender medicine. Its doctors proudly administered puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and other medical interventions to children who self-identified as “trans.”

Then the tone shifted. In the face of public pressure, CEO Mark Wallace announced that he was shutting down the child gender clinic. But doctors at the hospital, including Richard Ogden Roberts, David Paul, and Kristy Rialon, never stopped.

The public would not have known if not for a courageous surgeon, Eithan Haim, who felt morally obligated to expose the subterfuge. He contacted me about how the hospital had lied about terminating the transgender medicine program, and that doctors were, in fact, continuing to perform sex-change procedures on children as young as 11."

EXCLUSIVE: Dr. @EithanHaim exposed the child sex-change program at Texas Children's Hospital. Now the Biden Administration has indicted him on four felony charges. This is an outrageous political persecution—and must be resisted.

Ashamed that I came from Connecticut. THIS is disrespectful to him, his family and the people of Connecticut.
Not only was this not just a rainbow flag, this is a "progress" flag...meant for trans and colors too.

The officer was not gay or colored.

This doesn't help anybody's causes...this just makes people despise you more for your cluelessness.

UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE

Democrats in CT voted against flying the American blue line flag to honor fallen officer Aaron Pelletier who was kiIIed in the line of duty.

Instead they flew the pride flag at half staff to honor him. The pride flag. I have no words. This is disgraceful.…

I found this fascinating. This piece is long, but IT'S A CORKER!

I'm on my second reading, because there's a lot to sort out, but if we're looking behind the curtain to see who is defining what is and is not "misinformation" this is one you have to read. I hope our gracious host can take the time to take a look and give us her impressions.

Joan Donovan, one of the world’s leading experts in misinformation, was dying to set the record straight.

Good for Alex Jones, who is simply a center-right version of Morning Joe, for pushing back on the free speech hating Leftist Lawfare. He said things you don’t like so you want to ruin him. Shades of Mann v Steyn. The Left repeats lies ad nauseam on multiple platforms around the clock, hateful dangerous lies that tear apart the fabric of society. No one silences them, nor should they be. The most gentle pushes back towards sanity is met with insane rhetoric: see the WaPo discussion below.

So for one will cheer for the somewhat loony Alex Jones. If only because it drives the leftist loons here ‘round the bend.

Photo #3 almost looks like the moon rising on the eastern horizon.

Ann Althouse said...

@lonejustice

Yes, this sunrise, in "person," looked more like the moon than any sunrise I've seen in the whole 5 years I've been doing sunrises. The photo does not look as much like the moon as it really looked and I couldn't find a way to tweak it to recreate the look that I saw. It was truly delightfully moonlike.

Well this is just too perfect. Last night FullMoon prognosticated:

Saw a news blurb that Trump will be in San Francisco.
Expect massive demonstrations against the despised President

Then harsh reality intruded:

"...about five times more pro-Trump demonstrators turned out than anti-Trump protesters."

From The San Francisco Standard article "Out-of-town Trump fans descend on SF, turning a liberal city red" more excerpts: "The [pro-Trump] protest was about 250 people strong after growing from around 80 earlier in the day, plus a handful of counter-protesters."

Gee a liberal rag won't even offer a number?

“'The DOJ is crooked,' Gary said. 'They got him for a bookkeeping charge.' Distrust of journalists was also evident among the former president’s supporters. Gary added that the mainstream media is 'corrupt' and said most TV journalists 'aren’t even real reporters.'”

But the cream of the crop is this quote: "The paltry turnout of anti-Trump protesters paled [ed: whitey white San Frans, no doubt] in comparison to the number of people who came out for Trump, who at times led chants, 'USA, USA, USA,' and 'We want Trump.'”

TGIF we all deserve a laugh today!

Mike (MJB Wolf) said...

A picky pendant would say, "The photo does not look so much like the moon as it really looked..." but I think the MIT guideline is correct that either positive or negative comparisons can use as while so should only be used for negative comparisons.

Whichever sounds better should be employed, as Althouse did here.

Fished yesterday evening for the first time in the Patapsco river. It was a strange sight to see the missing span of the Key bridge in person after rounding Fort McHenry and also the Dali moored at the Port off my port side. Overall seemed like business as usual with 2 container ships leaving and 2 incoming in my 3 hours of fishing. Kudos to everyone that was involved in the recovery of the workers and clearing of channel. Also caught some nice striped bass to top it off

Typical anti Trumper:

"Jeremy Serwer, 53, who described his political stance as “further left than Bernie Sanders,” heckled a flag-waving Trumper,..."

“Look at who supports him; it’s the wealthy billionaires,” Serwer said. (while every Trump supporter there mentioned cost of gasoline and groceries. Common concern of billionaires)
