"I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful! I find her very beautiful. I think she’s liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump. I hear she’s very talented. I think she’s very beautiful, actually — unusually beautiful!"

Said Donald Trump, quoted in "Donald Trump Calls Taylor Swift ‘Unusually Beautiful’ but ‘Liberal’ in New ‘Apprentice’ Book" (Variety).

Also from the book, he says, "She is liberal, or is that just an act? She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal." By that time, Swift had transitioned to being a pop star. With pop stars, it would be surprising if they can be successful without being liberal... or just acting liberal.

"Liberal" is a term that has been devalued. It doesn't mean what it used to mean. It's not open-minded; it's not accepting or inclusive; it's nothing even remotely kind. It ain't what it used to be.

Swift isn't a liberal. I am a liberal.

Taylor Swift is a regime sellout. She is propped up as a hero.

The corporations would drop her in a heartbeat if she said anything positive about Trump or deviated from the corporate regime line at all.

She'll never amount to anything if she keeps neglecting her obligation to promote wholesome values . . .

Both her left- and right- critics agree on that much.

(She must have got her looks from her dad or a surgeon; her mom ain't much to look at.)

Attractive yes, beautiful, no. A solid 7.

Have you ever noticed how the left and Democrats don't complain about TayTay's white privilege? She's a walking talking singing dancing representation of it, and gets a pass on all of it when others much further down get slurred for the slightest accomplishment

Also, where's the Greta Thurnbergs of the world making a giant stink of how Swift's private jet creates more carbon emissions in a week than half the Eastern seaboard does in a year?

Guess she's "on the right side" of those issues. Fancy That.

As a near or actual billionaire, I find her incredibly attractive. :)

5 "beautifuls" and 5 "I's" with one "Trump" in that short little dialogue. A honest assessment.

I admire Swift's business acumen- gotta respect that- especially in the music business where, as Hunter Thompson put it:

“The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.”

Taylor Swift isn't a country star. She's a pop star and her appeal lies with upper middle class white girls that just so happen to have thousands of dollars for concert tickets. There is no more liberal constituency in the world. Performative liberalism on TayTay's part..perhaps. On her fans account they must be liberal or they will be shunned. They are the shock troops of the trans movement. Want to be friends with a cool girl? No way if you are an awkward boy. Grow your hair, dye it pink and wear a skirt and you have a friend for life. Or at least until you go out of fashion. It's like Flowers for Algernon but with a socially enforced expiration date.

She's a female of an age where she spouts nonsense, which is a beauty turn-off.

She's got to keep up her end of the conversation. You'll get tired of her shit no matter how beautiful she looks, and pretty quickly, otherwise.

Barthelme recommends getting a new one every year or so as the only workable solution, if you go for young.

Scott Adams today said that a wide age gap (old rich vs young hot) is fatal to a marriage, after his second much-younger wife divorce. As if he shouldn't have known that in advance.

Just wait until you hear her Biden breakup song.

I'll get her started:

"Hey Joe, where you going with that microphone in your hand?
Hey Joe, I said, where you goin' with that microphone in your hand? Oh
You're goin' down to trusupnheanumph
You know they caught you takin' money from the China man, yeah"

Taylor has stood up for her abandoned single girl fans right to get abortions. That is her schtik: Empathy and love for her Swifty fans. Quite understandable.

But now that she is 34 and pregnant by a man to whom she is already married and whom really wants to raise the child with her, it’s a Totally different context for her. She is in Butker territory. But her career is a billion a year show. Decisions, decisions probably to be made by Daddy Scott Swift.

She's hot but she'll be fat in a few years unless she spends her fortune on trainers, etc.

Her mom is a chunkster.

She has a talent for making money but her songs are so fucking bland.

I took this as a defensive strike by Trump. If Swift now endorses Beiden, the "balloon" (cherry) has already been popped. the whole issue has been deflated (ruptured).

But I suspect that Beiden is not cool or a "thing" to Taylor's market segment, and she is savvy enough to remain silent.

Is Clooney making more money because his wife Jammallia is an activist.

Taylor Swift requires makeup to be passably good looking.

Without makeup, she doesn't qualify as ugly, but she also doesn't approach beautiful.

YMMV.

To cover some different age ranges, Emma Watson, Kate Beckinsale, and my wife sans makeup all look better then Taylor Swift without it.

TBH, I don't know what my wife looks like with makeup on. She didn't have any on when we met and hasn't used any since.

taylor swift is a talented song writer with an eye for emotional insight into young people... her early albums directly connect to the experience of teenagers. Few if any songwriters tell a story as well as she.

As an older artist with a lot of friends and associates talking to her, she becomes more mundane and focussed on perfected performances. She does them well but the essence is back when she was 14 -18.

I saw the first half hour of her concert movie. She gives her fans their money's worth. The production values were high.... Rock concerts as religious observances: they used to be Dionysian and celebratory of the raw id. The rites were mostly performed by males and even Madonna found a way to channel Jim Morrison and break on through to the other side where multiple orgasms await.... Taylor Swift's concert looked different. She seemed more Apollonian and serene in her presentations. I only saw about a half hour or so, but she didn't grab her crotch or do pretend fellatio on one of the back up singers. She was more like a vestal virgin lighting a candle than a satyr breaking loose. I can see why young women want to be her, and why parents approve of such a choice. I'm not into her music, but it definitely sounds like music.

I am surprised that moms spend money and time feeding their daughters’ Taylor obsessions.

For instance, i went to a showing of her concert film (with Madame Mosby, let me be clear!) and there was a mosh pit of preteen girls in front of the screen.

I mean, she swears in her lyrics, and so many of the songs are about being mistreated by guys.

Who pays out the ass to expose theirr 8-yo daughter to that? Achillles? J/k, Ranger. Hee hee.

I was trying to figure out what the male analogue to Taylor is, and concluded it’s gangsta rap. Slightly higher swear-jar totals, but you’ve got misogyny to match Taylor’s misandry, raw male energy to match her girl power, etc.

You don’t see suburban dads, even the ones who grew up listening to gangsta rap in their rooms, excitedly bringing their cub scout-age boys to see Jay-Z.

Having said all that, some of her lyrics do transcend. “you’re not Dylan Thomas and I’m not Patti Smyth,” or even “Don’t listen to Inez, you can’t believe a word she says.”

And I do like her collabs with The National. She should have married one of those guys.

Seen on the internet:

"Taylor Swift has written hundreds of songs about breaking up with former boyfriends, and not a single song about making her man a sammitch. Coincidence? I think not."

Ms. Swift apparently doesn't know that Trump supported gay marriage many years before The Clintons, Obama, or Biden did. Nor do her legion of gay fans. This isn't hard stuff. It's embarassing that this generation is so ignorant and malleable.

Watch out, Taylor! We know how Trump approaches women he thinks are beautiful: “I don’t even wait…. You can do anything. [Sexually assault them]. You can do anything.”

traditionalguy said...

It seems that Taylor has had 20 years being protected by her father who is the finance guy and manager of her career who taught her extreme caution. The extraordinary skill at song writing and producing music videos is all her creative talent.

As for boys, she is 6 feet tall and skinny. Until Kelce showed up all her guys only wanted to use het for her fame. This time she is smitten by a real chemistry as she wrote about in Alchemy.

And everybody loves a lover. DJT can be the harsh executive that we need while Mrs Kelce can raise a family between writing and singing her many special songs.
