He was talking about Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.).
Go to the link to read Trump's assessment of the 11 possibles. What struck me — other than his jocose Frenchification of the word "diversity" — is how he had nothing but good things to say about each of them. Not a shred of negativity. And it's not as if he just inarticulately called them all "great."

Sad that Mark Robinson in not on the list.
Byron Donalds would be a good choice.
Vivek wasn't on the list. I know he is in the running more than some people listed there.
Mike Lee? Rubio?

No Vivek in the list. Big mistake.
I don't see va lt govt winsome sears on the axios list.
VA may be in play this year and she could be helpful.
Most of all I was looking forward to having 2 Jamaican citizens in the VP debate.
Both are us citizens, of course. Harris constructional, sears statutory. But both a Jamaican citizens by birth.
Harris seems never to have renounced hers.
I can't find anything to indicate sears has either.
It woul make an interesting debate question. Are they still Jamaican citizens?

@Achilles, as much as I like Mark Robinson, who I've been following since his golden rant at City Hall regarding their anti-gun show stance, I wonder if he's ready for a VP slot yet. Usually you'd want someone with Congressional ties to help move legislation through. And I'd be worried about his medical profile as well, as overweight as he is. I think Elise Stefanik would be an excellent choice, but she would be missed in the House.

Next La Donald can use La Marseillaise as a rally theme song. Great words for his Movement. And it worked in Casablanca’s best scene.
I'm hoping and guessing it will be Tulsi Gabbard. Last week on Tucker she said she would accept if asked to be Trumps VP. Plus she's not mentioned on the list. I'm sure she's on the short list.
1) She's smokin' hot, but doesn't have that blonde, too much make-up look about her.
2) Former Military
3) She's a woman.
3) Crossover Dem to MAGA
4) Buried Kamala in the Dem primary
5) Extemporaneous and articulate. She can take down the women on The View.
Yes she is a former Dem lib, but she clearly left the party behind. It would be fun to see Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney skip the Milwaukee GOP Convention and sit home and pout, while Trump puts Tulsi in front of the entire nation.
It won't be any of the people on the Axios list. Trump doesn't need help in FL, TN, or TX. If he picks a black man the entire general will be about race as Democrats would label a black Trump VP and Uncle Tom. I don't think a Southern VP choice helps in WI, MI, MN, PA.
But, it all depends on the voter fraud.

The list leaving him out just makes it not a list. Gabbard left off as well.
Stefanik, Donalds and Noem are the only serious people on that list and Donalds not really.
Trump was just having some fun. Rubio Vance Scott and Lee and most of the others are just not options.
"Not a shred of negativity."
Good observation. TDSers can't see it.
Regarding Tulsi, just ran the google machine and got this:
Tulsi is an Indian name steeped in meaning and charm, ideal for parents seeking to honor their Hindu faith. This feminine appellation derives from Tulasi and means “holy basil.” Fresh, fragrant, and beloved for its lush green color, basil is widely revered in Hinduism as a sacred plant
She'd be intriguing.
I place my bet on Stefanik.
I like The Donald/ Donalds ticket.
Stefanik reminds me of the "female Trump" in this great theatrical experiment that reenacted the Trump/Hillary debate with a female Trump and a male Hillary (gestures and vocal intonations matched).
I'd prefer Winsome Sears. I believe her mom was a US citizen, so she'd be eligible. And awesome. Much more reliably conservative than Gabbard or Stefanik and a proven tough fighter.
I thought it was Inclusivité égalité diversité now.
Since things got more explosive?

Trump: "[Kristi Noem is] somebody that I love."
Cricket: Crying out from beyond his shallow, unmarked grave somewhere beneath the endless, yellow grass of South Dakota's prairie, "Avenge me!"
Le Marseillaise? Really?
That begins
Let's go children of the fatherland
First, we are not "children" to obey a "fatherland" father and mother lands are fascist by their very nature. They tell their "children" what to do. "You will eat your spinach and youwill like it"
If there is a parent /child relation analogy at all we are the parents and the USA is our child.
Instead of a fatherland, we view the USA as our uncle (Sam) . Ther to help out as needed, give us advice, show us how to do stuff, encourage but not force us to eat our spinach.
Sometimes we get a "funny uncle" like Brandon who wants fuck us up the ass as we lie in the dark with nobody to protect us.

I am glad Vivek is not on the VP list. Sitting vps are not presidential material. Witness how many vps have run in the past 212 years. 2 have won.
Look at vps who got into office via death or resignation. They have universally been bad to mediocre president's. Coolidge is the exception. Some might say Roosevelt.
None of them could get elected to a second full term.
My ideal vp would be someone with no presidential ambitions. Someone who could actually run the senate, their constitutional function, without worrying tha the llr will get the sadz.
Create a job for Vivek where he can fire 50% of all civil service.
If he can't fire them, send them to a giant rubber room like nyc schools do with teachers they can't fire

Because the 12th amendment does not allow electors to vote for a President and Vice President from the same state Trump’s pick will not be a resident of Florida. Does Trump know this?
Google the term “puppy killer” and you will see why Noem is a no go. Getting the worst cosmetic surgery since Meg Ryan decided to become the Joker doesn’t help much either.
Both Vance and Stefanik were conservatives before they hitched their wagons to Trump. One wonders if they would moderate their level of MAGA if one of them were to become President.
On the list provided I think that Bergen would make the best President.
In ordinary circumstances I would not be a Tulsi fan.
These are not ordinary circumstances.
Victory over the Democratic Party is the only acceptable outcome, and if this rational, honest, instinctively libertarian former Democrat gets us there, she gets the nod from me. We'll deal with her views on gun control and a few other issues after we kick the shit out of the Democrats and their henchmen in the news media and Deep State.
I think Vivek would be far more useful behind the scenes whispering in Trump's ear.
I think people fundamentally misunderstand Trump. I might as well, but my take is that he is a generally nice guy who is positive about people in general and towards people who he thinks are good people. However, if you unfairly treat someone or attack him, he no longer gives you the benefit of the doubt. You have shown your true colors and are fair game for derision. It's a loyalty and respect thing. If you don't show respect, you don't deserve it back.
People think Trump just puts down others just out of meanness. I think, instead that if you set the parameters of the game, Trump will play by your own rules. It's just that the left was used to George Bush style of genteelness. If they can't take it maybe they shouldn't dish it out.
Is DJT using "French" as foreshadowing for the need for a Bastille-storming type event after he's jailed by the NY judge?
I like diversity.
Particularly in juries.
Which he can't seem to get.
Imagine that; Donald Trump, that alleged idiot, giving a reasoned and thoughtful analysis of his potential running mates!
Why is Trump so stuck on Florida candidates? Current officeholders who would trigger the requirement that that person or Trump move to another state. Of course, Trump isn't going to move...and if he did, to where? New York????
So Trump would compel the other to move elsewhere, thereby forfeiting their current office.
Of course, he can keep two Floridians on the ticket if he's willing to give up Florida's electoral votes for him or the VP candidate (12th Amendment).
Liberté, egalité, diversité; for the left, vacances. Also prestations sociales (welfare payments). For student protesters: add Plan B, HIV tests, Vaseline, condoms, and dental dams.
I agree with the commenters above who discussed Tulsi. I think that she would be a real game changer. Trump choosing her would strike genuine fear in the hearts of Democrats.(Vivek is great, but doesn’t fit the role.)
Can you imagine a debate between Tulsi and Kamala? That would be delicious.
Trump needs a kind of balance. Pence played that role, but an establishment Republican won’t work this time. Tulsi is a true maverick, with amazing credentials, and a convincing “the Dems left me “ story. Plus I’d be thrilled if she were set up to be our first female president, eventually. Sorry, Hillary.
Our country is doomed anyway. Let’s have a little fun on the way down.
I place my bet on Stefanik.
@Althouse, do it’s place bet? You think she’ll finish second?
Somehow I think Blackburn is more likely, but you could be right.
Hassayamper, haven't you seen Gabbard's mea culpa on the Second Amendment?
