Screw these Palestinian supporter idiots.
I am sure they haven’t heard the story that even though the US paid for pier in Gaza is open for business that aid coming to Gaza “STILL” isn’t getting to regular citizens.
People are such idiots.
Hamas doesn’t care how many citizens gets killed as long as they get what they want.

Perhaps if she was gang raped, tortured, and murdered, as happened to so many young Israeli women on October 7th, do you think she’d better understand what this war is about?

I’m not actually proposing that this happen to Ms. Blanchett. It’s what physicists would call a Gedanken experiment.

Stockholm Syndrome. Patty Hearst.

The soft and compassionate (Hollywood) left is terrorized and intimidated by the violent lefties they blindly let into their fold. Internal lefty bullying has spread far and wide (e.g., beyond Palestine to openly racist government policies, anti-female transgender policies, the donor rich taking from the poor left, ANTIFA-who-are-actually-fascists, etc.)

This is always how leftist political cycles rise and fall over time. One hundred years ago the soft USSR Communist "whites" were eaten by the aggressive USSR "reds." Etc.

None of the usual Hollywood crowd came out in favor of the Taliban in their brave struggle against American Imperialism. While it's true that none of them actually criticized Biden for the disastrous way he exited Afghanistan, neither did they show any support for the Taliban. No movie stars wore burkas on the red carpet to express solidarity for the cause so this is a step forward for Hollywood.

Considering the exact green color and the practiced pose just so, not very ambiguous IMHO. I'm amazed at how many "prominent" people are willing to take the side of Hamas, which is explicitly calling for the genocide of Jews.

Sad. Screw Hollywood. Old Mike Medved had their number years ago in his well-written book Hollywood vs America, 1992. Buy it through the Althouse portal for less than $20.

Since she didn't say anything specific about it, or stake a public position on the matter aside from a general anti-war statement, that means she has left her black, pink, and green dress open to interpretation. So, I'll go ahead and interpret it. I do admire her a little for stating 'I'm not a politician' and deferring comment on the current conflict.

After almost 80 years of bloody and costly intervention in the ugly cultural dumpster fire that is the entire Middle East, it feels me with a deep sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that we have imported this fucked up ancient blood feud to our home soil and that the people we pay to pretend for a living can advocate for semitic shepherd tribe A as opposed to semitic shepherd tribe B. Trillions of dollars and tens of thousands of lives later we have reached the summit. This is what it was all about.

As 'ol GW would say, "Mission Accomplished".

TreeJoe said...

I get the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, I truly do. There are hundreds of thousands/millions of people there in crap circumstance.

But the Palestinian "State" is one controlled by a terrorist organization (Hamas), boxed in and limited by multiple countries (not just Israel), who openly serves as a proxy for guerilla war by another country (Iran), and whose leaders reside in other countries in luxury (Qatar, etc.)

Palestine's elected government - Hamas - has a long history of indiscriminate attacks against Israelis AND Jewish people. They have a long history of indiscriminate rocket attacks on civilian targets. Hamas just launched a war against Israeli civilians. It killed indiscriminately. It took hostages. We have solid evidence those hostages are being raped/killed. We have solid evidence Hamas takes foreign aid and then uses it to impoverish and enslave the population in exchange for basic food and water.

I could go on. Hamas is big league bad news. Comparisons between them and Nazis and many other evil, murderous regimes are NOT hyperbolic.

Yet somehow people argue against Israel as if that stance is for Palestinians. They should be arguing against Hamas and for Palestinians. But they can't....because Hamas has become representative of Palestinians more broadly, until the population rises against them.

Germany became known as "Nazi Germany" when enough of their population was not just ruled by Nazi's but actively or passively supported Nazi ideology. That is the state of the Palestinian people and Hamas. They have become Hamas through the brutality of Hamas and the ultimate acceptance of that brutality by the people Hamas represents.

Good for her. maybe she's a decent moral person, unlike the amoral scum that defend Israel killing 40,000 Gazans, the vast majority of them innocent women and children. The International Court has declared Netenyahu a war criminal. Maybe that was enough for Kate.

Too bad she has to tip toe around the issue. You'd think any person who wasn't garbage would be upset at 25,000 women and kids getting killed for no reason, and seeing churches, hospitals, schools and mosques being targeted by Netenyahu's butchers and destroyed. But even this symbolic act took courage in the film "industry".

They need to add the colors of the Palestinian flag to the LGTBQ+ pride to show their support.

The particular shades of red and green are different, so those stripes will need to be added. White is already there, but as a triangle representing trans folk, so a white stripe will need to be added as well. Black is already there, but it is on the down low.

But once done, the 4 new additions will band together and throw the other colors off of a roof.

The UN updated the estimate of women and children killed in Gaza. It’s still confusing to get a sense of the ratio of civilian to combatant deaths because Hamas refuses to release the number of their fighters who they have lost. It’s also somewhat confusing that some influential people continue to pretend that Hamas has nothing to do with the Palestinians when Hamas is allegedly fighting this war for the sake of Palestinians. But that’s Hollywood. It doesn’t have to make sense.
From perplexity:
According to the United Nations' latest figures citing Gaza's Health Ministry, out of the 24,686 fatalities that have been fully identified so far, 7,797 were children and 4,959 were women.[4] This accounts for around 52% of the identified deaths being women and children.[1][4] However, the overall death toll reported by the Health Ministry remains over 35,000, with around 10,000 additional deaths yet to be fully identified and categorized demographically.[2][4]

The UN had initially reported higher proportions of women and children killed based on data from the Hamas-run Government Media Office (GMO), but later revised the figures after the Health Ministry started providing more comprehensive demographic breakdowns.[1] While the total death toll has not changed, the UN is now only citing the Health Ministry's identified casualties, leading to a decrease in the reported number of women and children killed compared to earlier estimates.[3][5]

It's important to note that keeping precise records of casualties during an ongoing conflict is extremely challenging, and the reported numbers may continue to fluctuate as more information becomes available.[1]

The best thing for the Palestinian people would be for Israel to finish the job, kill every last Hamas terrorist, mount their heads on pikes, and let the women and children go live peacefully in surrounding tribes.

I’m very skeptical of Hamas numbers. Are the dead buried in mass graves or are they given individual burials? It would seem either way that satellite photos would show very clear burials and the number of dead buried.
If the number was 30,000 dead bodies, wouldn’t there be an added health risk of decomposing bodies?
Are there funerals or ceremonies for the dead conducted by family members? Those should also show up in satellite photos.
When Israel was conducting funerals for the dead after 10/7, it created a strain on burial facilities. If there were so many dead in Gaza, shouldn’t we see a similar problem?

Back in November, a month after the breakout of the war, Blanchett, as the goodwill ambassador of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) addressed the European Parliament, calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.

But it is unclear as to what the E.U. Parliament could do about the war begun by Hamas terrorists. Wearing a red, white, and green dress certainly didn't help.

You need a source? Here it is:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/un-cuts-by-more-than-half-the-number-of-women-children-identified-as-killed-in-gaza/ar-BB1mkair

Having previously reported that 9,500 women and 14,500 children had died during the war (some 69% of all fatalities), OCHA is now reporting far lower numbers, stating that among “identified” deaths, 4,959 women have died, along with 7,797 children (or 52% of the total number of identified deaths in the war).

No bullshit, please to the efffect that "even if they can't be identified they were killed!"

As for Netanyahu being arrested? You are hallucinating. WHO exactly is going to do the arresting? Israel isn't a paty to the ICC.

Nor is the US a party, so no one has jurisdiction here.

So stop grinning like the masturbating imbecile you are.

Has RCOCEAN II figured out yet that "destroy[ing] churches, mosques, and hospitals", and apartment buildings, too, is not a war crime if they are used to store weapons and ammunition, and that storing weapons and ammunition in or under such buildings is itself a war crime?

Has RCOCEAN II figured out yet that "kill[ing] Palestinian women and children" is not a war crime if they are armed and trying to kill Jews (or gentiles), and that arming children (under-18s) is itself a war crime? Arming women is not itself a war crime, but arming men, women, or children and sending them out to kill Jews (or gentiles) is also a war crime if they do not (a) wear uniforms or at least 'insignia recognizable at a distance', (b) carry their weapons openly, (c) separate themselves from (= not hide behind) the civilian population, and (d) report to a fixed chain of command. They may be doing 'd' but you have to do all four to be legitimate soldiers.

It is fashionable among a certain set to be pro-Palestinian, and conversely anti-Israel. But if Israel were to cease to exist, the world would have to find a place for a lot of pissed-off displaced Israelis. This will not gladden anybody who hates Jews, and history has shown that the world will not welcome them. From what I know of Israelis, they will not be displaced this time. Look up Masada. It's a big part of who they are. If Palestinians can come into fashion among the fashionable set, they can just as quickly go out of vogue.
