Overheard on the radio: 'The reason why cats and dogs don't like going to the vet is because, while at the vet, pets can see the ghosts of all the pets the vet has euthanized.'

This theory should be easy-piecey to check. All you need to do is see if cats and dogs like going to Kristi Noem's farm.

Kristi Noem has binders full of dogs.

They don't take kindly to gunshots within my city limits, but I get the point...

1. The male female dynamic in these demonstrations is interesting.
On the whole, the vocally aggressive protesters are women. They are the chant leaders, the spokespersons, they are the yellers when arrests are made. Most of the arrests are of men - often with women making side commentary: you’re hurting him, he wasn’t doing anything, etc.
2. The problem with protesters wearing scarves and hoodies is that it gives them the illusion of anonymity. They’re emboldened to commit illegal acts that they wouldn’t participate in if they understood that they are all going to be identified. (It also makes them meaner and less sympathetic.) Their cell phones are all being tracked and facial recognition software is better than the protesters realize. Nothing they do is anonymous.

🚨Is the Federal Gov giving voter registration forms to non-citizens?

Yes, at least in SC. A refugee sent us this form that was given to her in a packet at the Social Security Office in Spartanburg. She asked “Why are they giving these to non-citizens?”

EXACTLY.

CHARLIE KIRK: This is a wake-up call for many Jews. And I have sympathy for American Jews who are very confused. . . . Because guess what, American Jews? You're considered white in the eyes of the Marxists. . . . White means you too. Welcome to the most hated class in America today. And Jews are like, wait . . . . We're Jewish. You don't get to determine the rules. Many American Jews are shocked that the organizations and the charities that they have been subsidizing want them dead.

And I want to make sure this is clear. At the foundational level . . . this is coast to coast -- it's because [Marxists] hate Western civilization, and they have now looped all Jews into the white category. So now Jews are experiencing the hate that we white people have been experiencing the last decade . . . . Hey, you know that there's . . . a lot of venom against white people because of the color of their skin? Ah, too bad. . . . And now all of a sudden, Jews are saying, this kinda feels like how we got to Auschwitz. This doesn't seem right. And I'm glad they're waking up, and it is how you get to mass murder. It is how you get to elimination by hating one group, by sectarianism and tribalism. And the reason why this is breaking the matrix is that for years, it was fashionable and acceptable to hate white people. It's not as fashionable and acceptable to hate Jews. But if you call Jews white, are you then able to hate Jews?

So we have Whites and their White American Jewish counterparts versus the population of the rest of the world, consisting of blacks, browns, and yellows, who are all Marxists. Got It!

I see Gadfly and only gadfly sees the current protests based on the skin color of the protesters. That is how shallow gadfly is. It is worse because he apparently hasn’t actually seen the skin color of many of the protesters. Gadfly just assumes it is about skin color.

I see Forbes has terminated the historic Ivy League universities and replaced them with 10 private and 10 public universities. UW- Madison is one of the public institutions named. Also, UMich- AA (Ann Arbor) is named too.

Our beloved blogress (AA) should be pleased.

Don't ignore that the blacks and browns routinely consider yellows to be "white adjacent" in the oppression hierarchy, and today they expressly try to suppress yellow numbers in California universities and at Harvard.

The current era is best seen as cold/temperate zone people versus tropical people. Those living near the cold zone have long dominated in technology and the creation of empires (e.g., the middle east led the world as the ice age ended, and then the same people migrated north in Europe; similar movements happened in China and Mongolia). Climate regions are correlated with many cultural and competitive strategies.

As with plants and all other animals, different strategies are required to survive long, cold, freezing winters. Not very many species find a way to survive. Witness bland UK and Scandinavian food versus spicy and complex south Asian food, and the very high prices once commanded by pepper and spices in Europe.

Law enforcement sent to UCLA following attack on encampment

"Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department and California Highway Patrol arrived on campus Wednesday morning to restore order following attacks on a pro-Palestinian encampment that has been set up on the University of California, Los Angeles campus since last Thursday.

The violence erupted shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday when the group of about 50 men believed to be supporters of the pro-Israeli counterprotest wearing dark clothing, hoods and white masks covering their faces stormed the barricade and tried to tear it down.

Unarmed security guards were forced to flee as fireworks were launched at the encampment, exploding near the tents that have overtaken Royce Quad.

Several of the counterprotesters, who appeared to be older outside agitators and not students, used what looked like bear spray to douse pro-Palestinian protesters, said KTLA’s John Fenoglio who was at the scene.

Aerial footage from Sky5 captured the chaotic scene, including countless clashes between protesters. The number of people injured and the severity of the injuries were unclear.

The LAPD was finally sent to the campus at the request of UCLA officials during the early morning hours on Wednesday to restore order and maintain public safety.

The situation appeared to have stabilized in the hours after police arrived.

Pro-Palestinian protesters are demanding UCLA divest all interests in Israel and are calling for an immediate halt to the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

When you’ve had genocide carry on for this long, people are just not going to be able to live side by side with two governments in the way that it’s been suggested and I think that a free Palestine is the only way forward,” said pro-Palestinian demonstrator Luke Veltz.

Counter-protesters calling for the release of Israeli hostages taken captive on Oct. 7 by Hamas have used screens and speakers to blast images and stories of survivors just feet away from the encampment.

“I think this is blatant antisemitism,” one young man, who was not identified, told KTLA. “This is crazy what’s going on, what they’re letting go on. They’re chanting to kill us. They’re chanting ‘from the river to the sea,’ which is just blatantly to kill us all. I wanted to see what’s going on and it’s scary."

The school declared the encampment unlawful in a letter issued just hours before the violent confrontation.

The university asked participants to leave the area and stated that those who decide to stay could face disciplinary measures, including suspension or expulsion, the Daily Bruin reported.

Officials also announced that Royce Hall will be closed through Friday and that Powell Library won’t reopen until Monday.

These pix just get better and better.

I just got through the Wake Island episode in Herman's book "Freedom's Forge," and found some nits to pick. The big one is the focus on Major Devereaux, who was neither the commander nor the hero of the Wake garrison. The commander, who was killed off early in the classic movie "Wake Island", was Navy Commander W.S. Cunningham. It was his message to HQ that was used to create the "send us more Japs" myth, and he who surrendered the post.

Wake is an interesting study in modern PR. The Navy was embarrassed and didn't know what to say about it, but the Marines jumped at the opportunity to make a legend and ran with it; then Devereaux got his story into print in 1947. Cunningham's book wasn't out until the 1960s. (Both Cunningham and Devereaux were awarded the Navy Cross.)

Cunningham isn't mentioned in the text, nor is his book in the bibliography.

It's unfortunate that none of the counter protesters at UCLA didn't have a compact tractor with a grapple attachment. That would have made quick work of the barbarian's barricades. Those barricades would be then fulfill their destiny of ultimate disorder, according to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.
