Anyway, what I'm hearing him say is that he wants Republicans but not Democrats to know better than to "waste" their vote on an independent candidate. If RFK Jr. can be painted as far left, then Trump will have what he wants.

Bummer that he buys into the (inaccurate) ruling-class consensus on RFK's vaccine views - one of the few things that recommend him to this libertarian. He's written entire books about this (see Fauci, Anthony) and has never been challenged in court for these supposedly "false" views. If nothing else - RFK and Trump would see eye to eye on the problem of the capture of our regulatory agencies by big pharma and the military-industrial complex. But I guess Trump is cutting deals (e.g., Ukraine funding) in expectation of a November win...

Trump with the blitzkrieg again. RFKJr didn't set NY's disastrous energy policy, it took the whole-hearted effort of the entire state party to do that, and it took them years. And it's not just the fracking issue, which is pigheaded. It's closing down perfectly good nuclear plants before their time. It's denying additional pipeline permits for a growing a demand, trying to force the suckers away from natural gas, while stripping electrical power generation supply. In other words, the kind of stupidity that only exists at a whole-party level.
Junior' is a not-unclever swipe at RFKJr's insistence of evoking his father and uncle at each and every opportunity to remind us that he's a Kennedy !, dammit.

Sure, Kennedy might get your vote, but no authentic conservative or conservative leaning person is going to choose Kennedy over Trump in November- any non-Trumpers in that demographic will hold their nose while voting for Trump or won't vote at all. Kennedy will, at best, draw 2-5% in the final vote tallies, and pretty much all of it will come out of the hide of Joe Biden because Kennedy and Biden share pretty much every single basic political policy position. If Trump is correct and I believe he is, the reason that Robert Kennedy Jr is a threat to Trump's election is because he will siphon off the Bernie bro and hardcore conspiracy nutter vote away from Trump.

Trump is attacking Kennedy to make Kennedy a more attractive candidate for anti-Trump voters rather than Joe Biden. This should be obvious to anyone with an IQ above room temperature (that leaves out Lonejustice, Howard, Chuck, Rich, and Inga). This will become obvious when Trump offers to debate Kennedy at some point this Summer and Fall if Biden doesn't come to the table- it is a direct stab at Biden's voting base- he won't be offering to debate Kennedy because he is afraid of losing voters to Kennedy- he will be doing it make Kennedy a stronger candidate from the Left.
This is, incidentally, the exact same strategy Clinton and her team did in 2015 and 2016 in the GOP primaries, it just backfired because Trump actually won the general election after winning the nomination- something Clinton didn't expect. It is also a strategy the Democrats use repeatedly in trying to get the most beatable Republican nominated- they attack that candidate relentlessly, getting them in the news with free coverage, all the while also secretly funding the more fringe candidate- it is very effective.
