It's a musical set in Whiterun with the songs based on Weezer's Blue Album, and it is fantastic! I stumbled across it today and enjoyed it immensely. It's album length, naturally, and runs 48:50. wildswan said...: I'm following the results of the attempt to prevent Zuckerberg or someone like him from running our elections here in Wisconsin again. This is Question 1 on the ballot. The Dems in Dane County (Madison) and Milwaukee support having some rich guy pay a private company to do the verifying and counting. The rest of Wisconsin is opposed, Well, you can see the Dems point. The rest of us won't matter, only the Dems, if private entities financed by wealthy Dems do the election verifying and counting.

With 54% of the vote counted the tally is in favor of keeping out private entities from running elections in this state. So far. "Yes" is good

Essentially Question 1 asks: should private entities sponsored by wealthy Dems be banned from running the elections in Wisconsin as they did in 2020. "Yes" means ban wealthy Dems like the Zuck. At 9:29 the NYT showed that 94% of the vote in Milwaukee was in and "Yes" was winning. But now it seems that only 77% of the vote from Milwaukee is in. So very strange. Another mystery election in Wisconsin is underway.

A short while ago Milwaukee had counted 77% of its votes on Question 1 - whether wealthy Dems should be allowed to fund private entities which would run our state elections. But now only 70% of the vote is counted. I believe it is the law in Wisconsin that the number of votes mail-in votes on hand must be reported by the actual election day or any rate before the polls close. Is this law being observed?

wildswan said...: The Mystery of the vote on Question 1. The percentage of Milwaukee votes which remained to be counted changed as the evening progressed. At 9:51 77% percent of the vote remained. At 10:11 70% remained. All the while the actual number counted remained the same - 113,955. This means that there are about 34,000 uncounted votes in Milwaukee. Plus Racine has turned in no votes. I know Wisconsin is a wonderful democracy but this seems more democracy than usual. Maybe I don't understand something.

Milwaukee County and Dane County each have over 95% of their votes in (unless, as in a Chicago election they find some ballots somewhere) They are 2/3rds of the "No" vote. We may be safe from an attack of Sudden Voter Discovery Syndrome. Still, Racine and Door County have not reported any votes.
Dane County went 69% in favor of allowing private entities to run our Wisconsin elections instead of state officials. Since the state government is located in Dane County and its voters are mainly state government employees, this shows what they think of themselves.
Milwaukee, to my surprise, only went 55% "No" instead of 69% like Dane County. This may be significant for the November election.; 4/2/24, 11:34 PM

Votes are counted by county employees and funding is supplemented by generous donors on an application basis. County employees do the applications and donations are dispersed as received. Who is at fault that more people are living in the four largest cities in Wisconsin? Certainly not the donors.

Old and slow said...: I typed out a post filled with sarcasm and ill will (oh, I thought it was pretty clever!) in response to another comment this morning. Then I deleted it and asked myself if I really wanted to be one of those people. It is too easy to fall into that trap of being a shithead on the Internet, and it does nothing positive for anyone. All I can do is live my life and strive to be a better person. That's pretty funny because the way Zuckerberg did it was in clear violation of the law. In fact, aside from giving large amounts of money to increase voter turnout exclusively in Democrat heavy precincts, despite the tax status of his organization, Zackerberg's employees had "read/write" access to the voter rolls. I can just imagine what Gadfly's position would be if a Trump aligned organization had had read/write access to official government voter rolls in a state where the election was close.

Then again, I almost think that gadfly is here to gin up voter turnout among Republicans by providing the weakest possible defenses of Democratic positions.; 4/3/24, 8:28 AM

Then maybe you can explain why it is every time a Republican is leading a close race, ballots keep getting 'found' and counting resumes right up to the point the Democrat takes the lead and then the race is 'over.'

Not occasionally. Every. Time.

And often times, the number of counted ballots exceeds the number of registered voters in that precinct.
