Veep Kamala Harris was cluelessly clapping along and all smiles as a man began singing in Spanish outside a community center in Puerto Rico last week — until she was told what he was actually saying.Trying to be friendly, the unwitting Harris nodded and clapped along — but then an aide appeared to inform her about what the lyrics meant, and suddenly she stopped.

she is literally STUPIDER THAN BIDEN!

“I wish that as Republicans, we had … a nominee that I could get behind,” Murkowski told CNN. “I certainly can’t get behind Donald Trump.”

The way it's worked, up until recently...

GOPe (to the deplorables): "You need to get behind the candidate we select for you. I mean- what are you going to do? Vote for a Democrat?" So the deplorables do and the GOPe immediately goes off and does whatever it wants, ignoring the interests of the deplorables.

And then, finally, there *was* a candidate the deplorables could get behind.

GOPe (to the deplorables): "Go fuck yourselves."

1. Doris Kearns Goodwin was on CBS Sunday Morning hawking her new book about her late husband. But somehow she goes off on how Trump can’t be elected. Threat to democracy and all that.

2. Gateway Pundit has a story about how the Dems are registering illegal aliens to vote in WI. Gee, I wonder if Ben Wikler knows anything about that.

3. I’m highly confident most millions of illegals will be registered by November. The Dems will flip TX. Laura Trump better focu# on that.

This week, my wife and I watched the 1997 movie Titanic. We had seen it when it was released in 1997, and now we watched it for the second time. This movie is brilliant and amazing.

I remember that when the movie was showing in the movie theaters, teenage girls watched it multiple times -- ten or more times. The girls would weep and weep at the end.

My biggest problemI had with the movie Titanic was the poor quality of the drawings done by the DiCaprio character, supposedly they were done by the director himself, but he should have gotten a professional to do them.

While I'm on the subject, there is a very large class of "scientific" "disciplines" -- cosmology -- evolution -- climaticatistics -- which are, certainly, academic subjects. But despite the fact, that they couch their subject matter in scientific terms, they lack the most fundamental requirement for scientific study, which is the possibility of repeated, controlled studies, in which the important parameters are systematically varied. That is to say, these are "observational" sciences, not experimental sciences. We can look at the Universe, and we can say, "Gee, if there had been -- oh, I dunno -- a big .... like ... a big ... bang! That would explain everything! Well, except for a huge big collection of things it doesn't explain. But who's keeping score? Get me another grant while you're up."

Jupiter said...

There has been a supposition, that since scientific study has been known to increase human understanding of physical processes, more scientific study would necessarily improve that understanding. Just as more "education" will necessarily lead to more competence. Ask yourself, will more drivers in the Indy 500 necessarily lead to a better outcome? Will expanding the number of people trying to earn a living -- a good living! -- as lawyers, necessarily improve the quality of justice? What is the optimum number of people to careen around a track, or pursue ambulances? One million? Two million? Is there, really, any upper limit, at which the law of diminishing returns might be thought to apply?

Jupiter said...

Wow. Like, Zeroeth World problems? Minus Oneth World problems? Look, tell yourself -- oh, I dunno. Tell yourself, that the director wanted the character to be believable, and therefore, he felt it might be better if he weren't as graphically talented as Leonardo Da Vinci. There, does that feel better? Look, if that doesn't help, maybe you could ask for your money back. Were you not entertained? Or maybe just rub the owie 'til it goes away. Wanna show us on the doll?

Gas prices are highly volatile. People notice them more going up then going down.

Up >10% in the last 5 days in CNY.

Gotta wonder what the ceiling will be before they come down again. If there is a ceiling...

Steve Kirsch had a substack post with mortality numbers the other day.
https://kirschsubstack.com/p/us-geriatric-practice-reports-that
If the numbers are true, the number of people on social security old age retirement should be dropping soon instead of increasing. And if mortality among the aged stays above the recent historical average, us unvaxxed oldsters won't have much company our age around. Last I read about it over 95% of the >65 year old cohort succumbed to pressure to get an unproven vaccine for a disease that wasn't go to kill them if they were otherwise healthy. Didn't kill my wife or I. And both of us got it long after most our vaxxed friends had their second bout.

As the Senate Democrats vote to keep flying illegals into American cities in the middle of the night...

The interview begins with Shirley asking the migrant how long he has been staying at the Watson Hotel, and if he had to pay for it.

“Two months. … No, no, we don’t pay. It is totally free. It is a help that the state gives us,” the migrant says, in Spanish.
“Do you also receive insurance for medications?” Shirley asks. “Yes, they are in charge of doing all that. In fact, they process Medicaid,” the migrant says.

The migrant continued to explain that he was provided with free lawyers and that beginning the process of applying for asylum was also free.
“Well now we’re heading towards … in fact, we asked for the tickets, and they also give it free, and now we are going to Arizona. To Phoenix, Arizona,” the man states.

“And they gave you that for free?” Shirley asks.

“Yes, it’s free. Free. The flight is completely free. We are leaving because here in New York, as we know, it has collapsed,” the man says.

gad, the Gateway Pundit is as good as the New York Times and the Washington Post. Just because YOU don't agree with a source of news, doesn't make it not true. You are lied to each and every day, and you don't care.

The polls are scaring poor gadfly. Like Biden, gadfly is left with the old “Republicans are racist” trope, because he has no winning policy. Meanwhile, minorities are tired of the rising crime, rising cost of living, and the lies from Democrats. It isn’t Texan politicians imposing martial law in the NY subway, shaking down people going to work, while still facing assault from a criminal out on bail with multiple priors. YouTube is full of minorities pointing out the lawless Democrats destroying their communities.

She doesn't link to blogs. She already told you that. Since there aren't many conservative media sources...we have to go on the internet to find the real truth. Overseas newspapers are way more informative and truthful than ANYTHING that comes out of the propaganda the Times and WAPO spew. You might as well watch Clinton crony George Stuffalufagus.

Althouse links to the NYT alot. The covid hoxers, the Russia hoaxers, the Hunter laptop hoaxers.

The Gateway Pundit put up lots of items about the accuracy of The Great Barrington Declaration.
The NYT panned that document. 100% science, 100% accurate.

Your going to have to take your ignorance fueled notions to a place more attuned to your ignorance

Boeing CEO Frank Calhoun to resign by the end of 2024. The head of Boeing Commercial Airplanes has resigned and a director has resigned.

Good. They got rid of a finance guy. Now, let's see if they hire someone who knows airplanes as CEO. Fat chance.

Bernie Madoff was responsible for the largest Ponzi Scheme in history, defrauding thousands of investors out of 10's of billions of dollars over the course of 17 years.

They set his bond at $10 million.

Donald Trump - no victims, banks paid back with interest wanting to do more business with him... $455 million Bond.

This is Joe Bidens American justice.

Aggie said...

Boeing started its decline as soon as their senior management decided to move their offices elsewhere, instead of keeping the ones overlooking the shop floor. When their executive leadership abandoned the factories for more prestigious Chicago offices, they became more concerned with luxuriating in the trappings of office, rather than creating and supporting the product.

It should be an object lesson to management teams everywhere. You don't create an internal elite class and allow them to vacate the place where the money is made. The whole point of them doing so, is to live off the organization, rather than making sure its being nurtured and guided to success. It's a very old lesson. The argument is always that the money men 'must' be where the money and influence is, to best benefit the company - it's a version of protecting 'Our' democracy. The rejoinder is always that, if your product is the best one, the money and influence will be at your doorstep - wherever it is. Sad to see Boeing in this place, and I hope that they have the wisdom to recover.

Mike of Snoqualmie said...

Sorry, it's DAVE Calhoun. An incompetent CEO smells just as repugnant whatever his name is.

Mike of Snoqualmie said...

Aggie, quite correct! Now, they've moved their headquarters to D.C. to be closer to the graft factory.

On X:
@CollinRugg
BREAKING: Donald Trump's $454 million bond has been reduced to $175 million thanks to a New York appeals court ruling.

"The ruling is a massive win for Trump, saving him from potential financial disaster.

The new bond will stop Attorney General Letitia James from collecting the judgement during Trump's appeal (NYT).

Trump now has 10 days to secure the bond meaning his bank accounts and properties are safe for now.

Trump's bond reduced to $175 million. Still too high, but apparently Trump can afford it. The important sign here is not all the courts are willing to go completely along with James and Engoron economic suicide pact.

We fly to Australia and New Zealand most years, with an interruption during the covid years, of course. Fly Qantas. Used to be an A380. Nice plane. But now, the route is serviced by the Boeing 787. Have to say, flying over all that water in a Boeing plane has us nervous. May have to look into whether there are airlines flying Airbus on the route.

Even better:

"In addition to reducing the amount Trump must put up for his appeal bond, the panel also said it would stay other parts of Engoron’s decision. Among other things, the panel said it would block Engoron’s decree that Trump be prohibited from getting loans from any New York financial institution for three years, and his order that Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, be barred from serving in a top position at a New York corporation for two years. The panel said it declined to block some of Engoron’s other moves, including his directive installing an independent director of compliance." (Washington Post)
