"A high number of 'uncommitted' votes would send a warning to his campaign nationally and set off alarms in Michigan, which he won in 2020 but where polls show weakness against former President Donald J. Trump. A low number, by contrast, would give Mr. Biden and his Democratic allies renewed faith that he can weather the tensions and focus on campaign priorities like the economy and abortion rights.... The leaders of the movement insist they do not want to hurt Mr. Biden in the general election, but hope to persuade him that his position on Israel will hurt him politically in time for him to correct himself...."

If they sit out the primary then half of them will sit out the general. What Democrats need to win Michigan is enthusiasm for Beiden, not the exercise of power to get Joe to kowtow to the anti Israelis.

Meanwhile Trump is leading Haley by more than 2:1 and climbing. He probably won't get to 3:1 because Michigan is an open primary. Big Mike said...: It's 10:10 EST and Trump is more than 40 points ahead of Haley. Plus he has more votes by himself than all of the votes cast in the Democrat primary put together. However if one were to add all of Haley's votes to the Democrats' total -- reasonable since most of her voters are NeverTrump plus Democrat crossovers -- then Trump is about 80,000 votes in arrears. If the Democrats who voted for “uncommitted” sitsy home in November (they might but most probably will vote for Joe) and a very large portion of the Haley voters vote for Joe (reasonable, as I commented upthread, because her voters are comprised of NeverTrump and Democrat crossovers) then Trump is in trouble in this state.
