"This is why we cheer for Rocky. Rocky is not supposed to win, but he wins. And that’s to me America. And Hunter is not supposed to win."

"He should be dead. And he faced a crossroad in his life, which we all do when we’re all struggling with things in our lives. And he could have chosen the easy path, which is to keep going and die, or do the hard thing, which is to change."

Said Georges Bergès, the owner of the gallery that sold Hunter Biden's artwork, testifying before House Judiciary and Oversight committee, quoted in newly released transcripts and reported in "Hunter Biden’s paintings have sold for a total of $1.5 million/Gallery owner, a Trump donor, has sold the work to 10 buyers; some bought multiple paintings" (WaPo).

The biggest buyer of the art — who bought 11 paintings for $875,000 — was Kevin Morris. Morris, we're told, "has become one of Biden’s closest friends while also acting as an attorney and financial benefactor."
Morris, who appeared before the committee last week, testified... “I basically found him like a guy getting the crap beat out of him in a — by a gang of people,” he said. “And, you know, where we come from, you don’t let that happen. You get in and you start swinging.” They grew up not far from one another and from similar backgrounds, Morris said — “Irish, Catholic, lots of booze flying around” — and forged a quick connection.
Morris agreed to represent Biden. He bought some of his art for $40,000. And soon he was agreeing to help him on his taxes, to pay his rent, and settle debts for his Porsche.

Other people have to pay their lawyers. Here's a lawyer who lavishes money on his client. How do you make that happen? Some magical Irishness???

Morris declined to answer numerous questions about exactly how much he has loaned to Biden and for what purposes. But he said they have around five promissory notes, with interest, and the terms state that Biden needs to repay them starting in 2025. When asked about other testimony that he had loaned Biden approximately $4.9 million between 2020 and 2022 to cover tax payments and personal expenditures, he replied that those figures were basically correct....

It's a loan, you see.  And Morris is rich. He notes that the loan was equivalent to a mere 5% of his assets. He pictures Hunter repaying him and testified....

“I did not and do not have any expectations of receiving anything from Hunter's father or the Biden administration in exchange from helping Hunter, nor have I asked for anything from President Biden or his administration. My only goal was and is to help my friend and client.”

The WaPo article ends with a lighthearted send off. Morris attended Naomi Biden's White House wedding, and we're supposed to believe this is all very friendly niceness:

“The president waved. And I think he said hi,” Morris said. “He always makes jokes about my hair. I think he made a crack about my hair. That was it.”

“ In 2016, Morris published a novel, All Joe Knight, which was long-listed for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, and named as the Amazon Best Book of the Month in Literature and Fiction for December 2016. USA Today called it "a two-fisted debut novel," while Esquire called it "a remarkable and agonizing portrayal of a middle-aged man who doesn't know what's become of his life, and doesn't seem to care."

Morris is a big shot entertainment lawyer. There’s a quid pro quo somewhere.

Hunter is no Rocky. He was born with a silver spoon and was given everything in life for "being a Biden" Everything that Hunter filmed, HUNTER DID. Nobody was after him. He did it to himself. What a crock of shit.

That’s probably supposed to sound like not that much, but it’s huge. Probably most of his liquid assets, to a loose-cannon drug addict who just happens to be the son of the president, but we’re not supposed to read anything into that part of Hunter’s bio.

Hunter isn't Rocky because one is a real human and the other a pigment of your imagination. Of course, none of us is capable of knowing Hunter the human, so he is in essence a fictional character archetype that causes deeply felt emotional responses from the lizard brain of those programmed by algorithms delivered for transcendence across the River Styx into Hades. Please click like and share.

Rocky causes deep seeded feewings of empathy and joy from the lizard brain programmed by an artist for your transcendence towards Nirvana.

That's said, I am impressed with Hunter's art, I'm just not convinced there isn't a ghost painter behind the vail.

Have a wonderful day 😎

Let's say I was an attorney and I had a client who wanted the president to help that client in some way. I go to the president and say, "can you do this thing for me?" The president replies, "Sure, just purchase some "art" from my idiot son and you'll be all set."

NO! Rocky does NOT win! That's the WHOLE point. He LOSES a split decision.

He is an underdog that goes toe to toe with greatness and never gives up in the face of certain defeat but he DOES not win. He never gives up even when his own manager tells him to "stay down." He goes back to his corner and says, "Cut me Mick."

After the final bell, Apollo Creed tells him, "Ain't gonna be no rematch."

Rocky says, "Don't want one."

The whole POINT of the movie (which gets messed up in the sequels where Rocky becomes a champ) is that Rocky is chump who was given one shot and he did not waste it. Win or lose didn't matter.

Regarding the absurd notion that Hunter is an "underdog." I'll quote CCR:

It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no senator's son, son
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no fortunate one, no

Something doesn't add up. Hunter burns through his money, so can't afford a lawyer? No family member able to help? Morris gives what seem to be lavish gifts. His testimony indicated that all paperwork, including a retention agreement, came late or after the fact. A lawyer?

Where can I get such a lucrative gig? I have a great, undeveloped talent for painting, I tell you! Just ask my kindergarten teacher! I can't remember her name, but she'd be only 100 today, so it should be no problem to find her. But, maybe I'm misgendering her, and she's a he now? Who knows!

I don't have a WaPoo account, so I can't read the article. Did Kevin Morris have a signed loan document? How about collateral to secure the loan? Surely, Hunter must have some assets to secure the loan in case he defaults? Oh, access to his dad and influence peddling is his primary asset.

To recap the story as told by Morris - remember this is the guy who says he's doing everything right:

- Met Hunter in 2019, immediately became friends
- Has loaned ~$5 million to Hunter in the years since, unclear or no interest terms, unclear or no penalty for failure to repay, no payments due until 2025.
- Says Hunter never asked him for these loans but did not disclose what the loans are for specifically
- Handled disbursement of these loans through additional lawyers (i.e further layers preventing disclosure)

This is literally how you structure bribe laundering. You show a loan (which is not considered income, so no taxes), you have the ability to forgive the loan and no clear payment terms, you provide the loan for no specific reason and claim the recipient didn't request it (because requesting it could be considered part of a bribe), and you involve multiple layers of lawyers to obfuscate and hide records in the process.

This while happening while Biden was running for, and became, President and throughout his term.

This shit is surreal because on the flip side I've read articles by mid-tier publications claiming this testimony proves this is a nothingburger.

When did Hunter Biden "face a crossroads?" He has never had to answer for any of his behavior, up to refusing to respond to a Congressional subpoena just last month.

This sort of story shows exactly the dilemma Republicans face with trying to impeach Biden for bribery. They have enough evidence that a neutral party could be easily convinced that Biden had taken money from foreign governments and "interested parties" mainly though his family. If there was the same evidence that Trump had taken bribes we would never hear the end of it.

But the press, the democrats, and the hard core TDS refuses to see or even look at the evidence. Republicans know in their hearts, that in an impeachment trial in the Senate, not one democrat senator will vote for impeachment. They may even get a Romney type (who also had friends with "business interests in the Ukraine") to vote against it. They can't because it contradicts their previous votes in the first Trump impeachment. They can't because it would be admitting that the DNC foisted a criminal on the American people. They can't because their real concern is tribal loyalty not the good of the United States.

Republicans know that after the "acquittal" in the Senate, the press, the DNC, MSNBC, and all the usual suspects with tout how nothing was proven. And Joe Biden will walk away with his money. And when Joe is gone, just watch how little income the "Biden name" brings in to the Biden family.

Gone are the days when Nixon could be told by his party members that it's over. For the democrats, it's "Everything in the Party, nothing outside the party, nothing against the party."

You'd think that such a big shot Hollywood lawyer and an acclaimed novelist to boot could come up with higher quality bullshit than that story. Hunter is not some kind of gritty Rocky character. Working class is not a phrase that comes to mind when thinking about Hunter. Hunter is besotted with privilege, and it's hard to make him a sympathetic character, but his dealer could try harder. Maybe make him into some kind of O'Neill or Tennessee Williams character trying to escape the pursuing furies.....I have a practical suggestion for Hunter. Patti Davis was the the first Presidential child to pose for Playboy. Maybe Hunter could be the first Presidential spawn to make a sex tape. Depending on his co-star, I'm sure it would sell well, and he could pick up a few bucks. It would be a much more honest and commendable way of making a living than any of his past endeavors.

I wonder if Morris is just a middleman. He gets money from certain people or groups that are interested in purchasing influence. He then transfers a portion of that money to Hunter Biden in the form of gifts and loans, minus his cut, gifts and loans get used by Hunter, the Bidens, and maybe even "The Big Guy." If he is a high priced attorney that gives him a plausible vehicle to receive fairly large sums of money, (it is my understanding a lot of entertainment lawyers will take a percentage cut of a negotiated deal as payment rather than charging hourly) as well as the hurdle of Attorney-Client privilege for why he can't discuss all the terms of his arrangement with whatever person or persons may have given him money.
