Writes David Smith, in "Fired-up Biden shows gloves are off in January 6 anniversary speech" (The Guardian).
What sort of "joking" about Paul Pelosi is Trump guilty of? Example from last September:
“We’ll stand up to crazy Nancy Pelosi, who ruined San Francisco — how’s her husband doing, anybody know?” Trump said to a raucous crowd of California Republicans at a state party convention. “And she’s against building a wall at our border, even though she has a wall around her house — which obviously didn’t do a very good job.”
Is that a joke? Is it "sick"? Was it a joke for Biden to pause after saying "What a sick..."? His audience reacted with "laughter and whooping" at the President's causing them to think the word "fuck."
Is it a microaggression to say "the Irish in me" to refer to the desire to call someone "a sick fuck."
There's a real ugliness to Biden's "Irish" kicking and punching. At least Trump pretended to empathize with the hammered husband. How's he doing? Would that he had a better wall....

I bet Irish Joe never had a fight in his life and if he did, he got his ass handed to him. People who go on and on about punching other people tend to be like that.
Also, isn't it fair to say that the Pelosis brought a lot of this on themselves by trying to cover up Paul being assaulted by an intruder? If they'd just let it play out most everyone would have forgotten it by now.
Biden has a meanness that often comes through, despite his efforts to appear as just a folksy old grandpa. I wonder if that rage that simmers below the surface (and probably manifests itself frequently in private) is a reason why his children are so messed up.
I thought the Irish in him meant he has a small penis.
Biden has been in Washington for a half-century. He's 45 years past his sell-by date. The only thing he's ever believed is that Joe Biden ought to run things.
Biden has always been a nasty piece of work, and a strutting tough-talking windbag - as long as the path is clear of any potential immediate confrontation. He's gotten away with it for his entire career, with just a few exceptions that were too egregious for even the LMSM to ignore.
"Democrats are often criticised for pulling their punches and refusing to fight dirty as Republicans do."
By other Democrats. Jesus.
Recently, we’ve had some fun with the phrase, “our violence is speech, their speech is violence.” In reality, that attitude is reflected throughout the liberal approach to politics.
“When they go low, we go high” declared Michelle Obama after smearing Mitt Romney as a dog torturer who gave a woman cancer to save a few bucks and Joe Biden accused Republicans of wanting to reinstate slavery. “Anti-fascist” they call themselves as they embrace fascist tactics. “Protect democracy!” they shout as they use lawfare to keep their opponents off the ballot.
“ Democrats are often criticised for pulling their punches and refusing to fight dirty as Republicans do.”
That’s a good one.
Does anyone believe Biden can ride his anti-Trump obsession over the next eleven months to victory, using his hackneyed righteous anger routine?
Forget Trump in November, that tells me Biden is now following a short-term, go-for-broke strategy to improve his standing in the polls to stave off his eventual backroom replacement by another Democrat before the convention.

People calling him #DementiaHitler is trending now, which is *chef's kiss* perfection.
Worst. POTUS. Ever.
For some sick reason - perverse curiosity, I suppose - I watched about three minutes of this speech. It was of course just another episode of Biden doing his hackneyed lame "badass Joe" schtick. The scripted shouting, the stern grimacing, the faux outrage, and yeah, the set up pause before the tacit "fuck." He was really angry with this dictatorial, democracy-killing, opponent-executing wannabe, Trump, don't ya know.
Three minutes is about all one can tolerate. Does anyone buy his tuff guy act? I'm asking you, Democrats...
"refusing to fight dirty as Republicans do"
WTF? GOPers have been "literally Hitler" since Truman. LBJ tagged Goldwater with a nuclear bomb. Lawfare has been used by Dems against many GOPers--DeLay, Stevens, you name it. They went after Thomas and Kavanaugh with lies and smears. The deep state hoaxed and persectuted Trump and his allies for 4 years. They staged phony impeachments and then locked up unarmed "insurrectionists."
Besides Trump, and Ron in Florida, maybe Abbott in Texas, a few people in Congress occasionally, which GOPers are "fighting" at all, let alone fighting dirty?
I don't concern myself with so-called microaggressions, but hearing Biden say "the Irish in me" does grate. He ain't Irish, that's for sure, though sad to say, he would fit in well among the Irish political class. They are notoriously corrupt.
Any suggestion that it is common for politicians to be morally and spiritually superior to Trump, or that Biden in particular is superior, is complete bullshit.
You invite a random homelsss guy in your home for some guiltless gay boning and you get attacked with a hammer, with the police present.
Ya gotta admit. It isn't high drama. It's kinda funny.
"Mr. Pelosi, sir. How did that hammer come to be up your ass?"
" I fell in the shower."
Two-minute hates are presented for the delectation of Democrats every day, and attendance is mandatory , but to be fair, Democrats would mostly show up anyway. With them, every accusation is a confession, and the claim that Republicans fight dirty is no different. Normies have a hard time sorting out that it’s actually Biden who is fighting dirty.
Denounced......practicing for the show trials are we Joe?
"denounced"......practicing for the coming show trials are we?
This from the man that refused to acknowledge his own grandchild.
What will Biden do next? Ask a handicap person to stand up? Oh wait, he already did that. Did Dave Chapelle plagiarize Biden?
I have to wonder if this is helping, right? Will this performance "limit availability for the candidate" or is this what the folks running the campaign think will win hearts and minds they currently don't have on their side?
There isn't a lot of policy content, is there? Gracious.
Anything's possible. If you carry around a g < 90 or so and hate Trump like Joe, this will put you in line to vote. Is that enough to win?
Instead of useful myths, tried-and-true 'narratives', and journalistic practices, you soon get one messed up kitchen.. I can barely make out, through the steam, a big pot of postmodern stew, bubbling away. Bobbing up and down inside are individuals, liberated and isolated.
Enjoy congealed, gelatinous 'narratives' and blobs of ideological goo coming up with each ladel full of goodness.

"Democrats are often criticised for pulling their punches and refusing to fight dirty as Republicans do."
What? What?
Tell me this sentence is a monumental joke.
And, we will NEVER find out the truth about underwear man or Pelosi's drunk driving stop in Napa.
The fix was in on both accounts...
'I think it’s despicable, seriously, not just for a president but for any person to say that.'
Just in case people thought he was making a joke in calling out Trump, Biden reassures us that he's speaking "seriously." "Not a joke," "not kidding," "all kidding aside," "Not being facetious," have made regular appearances in Biden's rhetoric, almost always at points when absolutely no one could possibly think that he's joking. I wonder whether there's a diagnostic name for this annoying verbal tic.

Democrats are often criticised for pulling their punches and refusing to fight dirty as Republicans do.
LOLOL!! And all the rest of this wildly off-target mishigas.
Simply put, Joe Biden is a vile, detestable human being.
I along with over 80,000,000 others furiously denounce Joe Biden and every evil imbecile that supports him.
If you support his Nazi government you’re the bad guy and you should pay a terrible price.
Biden's attitude toward Republicans has always been one of contempt. Look at his debate's with Palin and Ryan, if you're so inclined.
He's never, as far as I can tell, said a kind word about Trump. He was vicious toward McCain (lets all bow our heads) in 2008, and 2012 Romney. He only became friends with Mittens, after Mitt started attacking his fellow Republican Senators for not approving all the Biden's Cabinet and judicial picks.
Biden's not a nice guy. he's not "good ol' Joe" despite his public persona. He's called Trump a nazi, racist, fascist, insurrectionist, traitor, and criminal. He's never "pulled his punches".
And hello? He and Thug Garland and his DOJ are trying to put Trump in Jail! So how does that square with his 'Pulling his punches". Further, he's cool with state judges and Secretaries of state disqualifying trump from their ballots. He's willing to win, by any means neccessary, and doesn't give a damn about fairness or "democracy".
Sociopaths like Joe Biden have counted their whole life on the fact that honest people tend to believe what they are told, and will then tend to defend their belief. I have a close friend who works in special ed, and she says that the sociopathic kids she encounters, 1 % of the population, can really creep you out until they learn to hide it. Biden also has the narcissistic belief that whatever benefits him personally is what is best for the country, and he knows that he can’t win an election decided on the merits of his time as president vs that of Trump.
There are trillions of dollars at stake in the US election, and Democrats are no longer willing to risk fair and honest voting . They also think that the climate is at stake, if you believe that, what ethical limits will you accept on your need to win elections?
Despite Biden constantly claiming to be "Irish". Biden's father was of English descent. His mother's family trace their Irish roots back to 1850. Its not like Biden parents came over from Ireland in 1920. Although that's the way he talks.
Its just as phony has his constant talk about "Joe from Scranton" with "working class roots", when in fact his parents were solidly middle class, and so were his grandparents. Biden has been a well-to-do, powerful Senator and DC politician for 50 years.
As for being Catholic, it'd be nice to hear what Catholic teachings Biden actually follows.
"I bet Irish Joe never had a fight in his life and if he did, he got his ass handed to him."
Strongly disagree. He was held back in the third grade and went through grammar school older, bigger and dumber than his classmates. With a Father and family which pushed the Irish tough guy persona on him. "Nobody fucks with a Biden."
A classic bully. He still is.
The first comment nailed it- Biden is a fake tough guy. Blowhards like Biden are pretty much always little pussies when the chips are down.
It’s a misconception to think that susceptibility to propaganda is limited to those of low IQ. It’s just that most people are honest and credulous , and the propaganda comes with a heavy dollop of dopamine for those who believe it.
What my mostly Irish Catholic friends and I called guys like Biden when we were in high school--"Honorary Tough Guy". HTG for short.
Trump’s opinion about Paul and Nancy Pelosi is apparently the sort of free speech that Biden wants to see condemned and banished.
It doesn't sound like a joke to you, but the assembled multitude saw fit to laugh at it.
Joe blamed a truck driver for the death of his wife and child, don’t forget. The accident was actually his wife’s fault. That’s how Joe rolls.
Only losers like Biden.
the Guardian, had the Soviets taken over, it would have been the lead paper,
Biden's genealogy is well-established. He has about as much Irish in him as a russet potato.
Maybe when Old Joe mentions "the Irish in me" he's referring to his blood alcohol level.
Biden is Scut Farkus without the charm.

Yeah, I remember being afraid that Goldwater would start WWIII. In my defense, I was 8 years old.
Pedo Pete has standards.
Biden's meanness is part and parcel of his dementia. I've seen it in numerous elderly aunts, uncles and my parents. My beloved Aunt Betty would throw things like her phone or TV remote control at me while I was helping her with whatever she needed to have done. And the blame? Squarely on his wife and family for allowing him to be used as a political puppet.

I am privileged to be friends with many veterans. A couple of them were special forces with multiple hot deployments. These guys do NOT go around telling people how tough they are.... but God help you if you challenge them or hurt their loved ones.
Biden? Feh. I doubt he faced down Corn Pop. I doubt he could defeat a bowl of Pop Corn. Being tough is only one small example of him being a blowhard.
trump is obviously a S bag
Whether it’s MAGA rioters storming the Capitol to overturn a democratic election, or Democrats complaining about it, it’s clear reality is at stake in the next election.
You will be made to care about the White Left Elites named Pelosi.
Althouse via TwitterX : The NYT says Biden gave his speech near Valley Forge "to highlight the nation’s long tradition of a peaceful transfer of power, which Washington set in motion by voluntarily stepping down from office." But Washington at Valley Forge was engaged in the Revolutionary War. That was not a peaceful transfer of power. It was an insurrection!
This White House can afford to send billions to Ukraine but can’t afford a in-house historian?

Didn't he beat the shit out of CornPop back in the day? Sure, he used a chain. What white supremacist in a position of authority wouldn't?
So there's that.
Oh, wait, he didn't fight CornPop, just scared the crap out of him and backed him down.
Oh, wait. He made the whole story up.
Never mind
John Henry
"Democrats are often criticised for pulling their punches and refusing to fight dirty as Republicans do."
Really? Joe Biden's told a Black audience that Mitt Romney would put them back in chains. The Mushroom Media Conspiracy's had a day of calling Trump a fascist and dictator. Jack Smith just said that Trump would gun down Congresscritters at the State of the Union meeting.
The only way Democrats know how to fight is dirty. "By Any Means Necessary" is their motto. Kavanaugh sexual assault hoax. Russiagate Hoax. Mike Flynn interview ambush.
The Democrat Party is most accurately described as the Decivilizer Party. That way they can continue to use "(D)" to describe their members.
Why an objective observer might think that Joe Biden was a corrupt prevaricating little weasel with a mean streak and a shriveled soul. And I have to agree with Yancey Ward at 1200 that Joe would likely be a little pussy when the chips are down. Many foreign leaders have come to the same conclusion, which affects our foreign policy "successes". Have there been any lately?
But with all of that, most of the time Joe is off in dementia land where he's mostly worried about where his next pudding cup is coming from. Obama and his adviers will lay out the plan for Team Joe, and Dr. Jill will help carry it out.
Joe Biden is a “plastic Paddy.”

There you have it. The all-purpose round-up of fuckheaded lies that came out of the TrumpWing fever swamps about the story soon after Paul Pelosi was assualted and nearly killed in his home. Funny stuff. The lies:
~ That Paul Pelosi invited the attcker in. (No, the guy broke in by breaking a glass door. Surveillance video showed it.)
~ That Paul Pelosi had a gay relationship with the guy. (No; the guy testified at the trial where he was found guilty. There was no relationship.)
~ That the crime was something other than some random maniac juiced up on hatred of then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi; the kind of hatred that guys like "Rusty" routinely traffic in. (Again, the guy testified and kept right on going with his insane conspiracy theories.)
This sort of TrumpWing garbage -- a staple of the Althouse blog comments pages -- is EXACTLY what Trump was speaking to when he REPEATED his Paul Pelosi Attack Comedy Tour.
For this blog post, Althouse, I think you might have succeeded in selecting the least offensive of Trump's several sick, witless Paul Pelosi jokes. Which makes me suspect it wasn't accidental on your part. But no matter what, thanks to the clip I have linked, you can now see precisely what Trump was deliberately feeding. The fever swamp typified by your reader "Rusty."
The Fact Check of the TrumpWing conspiracy theories.
Was anyone taking about Paul Pelosi’s rent boy attacker before Hillary injected it into the political
Conversation?
Biden has had free use of the MSM to disseminate total lies on every subject he has encountered. That came before he came into control of the Federal justice machinery. Before that all he could do is run a 100 million dollar briber ring demanding payoffs from our enemies. Now the SOB can and does run his own Bolshevik style Secret Police.
Sometimes I just despair of politics and along comes Ride Space Mountain and says something so outlandishly funny I wish I was drinking a cup of coffee just so I could spit it all over my keyboard.
Democrats: the Party of Projection.
When has a Republican fought dirty? The Dems squealed like stick pigs over Willy Horton but that was nearly 30 years ago. Are they whining about mean tweets whilst their TV and news people call Trump Hitler daily?
"Democrats are often criticised for pulling their punches and refusing to fight dirty as Republicans do."
He could be thinking of LLRs like our pet Bulwarker Chuckles. He definitely fights dirty and is proud of it. Very proud. One might describe him as boastful.
While Biden jokes about his inner diversitist, Trump empathizes with civil... citizen rights of Americans in the woke (sic) of Pelosi - Nancy, not Paul - gate.
I’m sure Polifact is all over this. We have nothing to worry about.
Rich writes, "Whether it’s MAGA rioters storming the Capitol to overturn a democratic election..."
The 2020 was democratic only in the sense that the Democratic Party bought it.
Storming? Looks like strolling to anyone whose reason is stronger than their political convictions. Of course, there is the possibility that this footage was shot at 500 fps.
At the time Trump made those comments, the Right Wing was pushing the ridiculous idea, now throughly debunked by testimony, video and forensics, that Pelosi was attack by a gay prostitute he hired. He was winking and nodding at those claims. To pretend otherwise is disingenuous. He does this all the time and every single time a bunch of enablers run around saying, "Well, ackshually, what he said was ..."

Althouse writes "There's a real ugliness to Biden's "Irish" kicking and punching."
If the Irish government was interested in defending the Irish (which they're not, but that's another topic) they ought to have recalled Ambassador Geraldine Byrne Nason as a diplomatic protest against Biden's habitual defamation of the Irish character, which is especially egregious as the President's Irish ancestry is nebulous at best. Disparaging an ethnic group one is not a member of is close to racism, is it not? Granted, Biden thinks describing Irishness as being processed of barely contained rage is flattery, but stupidity is never an excuse for bigotry.
Ironically, if it came down to a Celtic dick-measuring contest, Trump would defeat Biden by a country mile. Trump is at least a half a Gael through his mother Màiri Anna Nic Leòid. (Mary Anne MacLeod in English, 'nic' is the Gaelic patronymic meaning 'daughter of') Màiri, a crofter's daughter, was born and raised in the Outer Hebrides, the stronghold of the MacLeods for 800 years, speaking only Gaelic until she was in grammar school. Biden is far more of a generalized European mongrel, with ancestry tracable to every majority Roman Catholic country in that continent.

"Rich" hits the nail on the head here. At stake is a corrupt government that has a thousand political prisoners, many of whom have not even had preliminary hearings, let alone fair trials. The "storming" included them being invited and escorted by Capitol Police.

It’s funny. Sorry. To half the voting public, she is evil incarnate, single handedly almost creating the J6 Insurrection fabrication by herself, while twice impeaching Trump - the first time for doing his job, and questioning Biden taking brides from Ukrainian politicians to protect them from investigation for corruption, and the second to further her J6 Insurrection fabrication. So, Trump points to the travails of her husband who may have had a gay sex escapade gone wrong. Of course, we all know that much of their many millions came from insider trading done by the two of them - the money that paid for their walled mansion where her husband fought back the gay prostitute, ad ended up using a hammer to defend himself. And why was he engaging in gay sex I the first place? Isn’t she woman enough for him?

Bruce Hayden I had thought that you were a practicing attorney; a member of a state bar. Am I mistaken about that?
Are you going to stand by a published assertion that the felonious assault on Paul Pelosi, resulting in grievous injury to the victim Paul Pelosi, a federal trial conviction, and state charges (where the defendant has given a confession) that carry sentences of 13 years to life, are all bogus because there had been a gay relationship between Pelosi and his assailant?
Your words:
“ …So, Trump points to the travails of her husband who may have had a gay sex escapade gone wrong. Of course, we all know that much of their many millions came from insider trading done by the two of them - the money that paid for their walled mansion where her husband fought back the gay prostitute, ad ended up using a hammer to defend himself. I’d be really uncomfortable, if I had published such a statement and someone asked my state bar attorney discipline board to examine it with an eye toward discipline. I wouldn’t expect any suspension of licensure; but some censure? Yes, I think that might be possible.
That sounded like a cringe campaign speech. Was that not an in-kind donation by TV?
