The institutionalized civility of "community notes."

This is a perfect example of why people are so effing infuriated. This is not a mistake. This is not an error. It's not a fat finger post. This is done deliberately. A 17 year old high school journalist with an extra 30 seconds to kill could easily verify that this image was deceiving and taken out of context.

This is a prime example of inauthenticity. Complex systems will not survive the authenticity crisis.

The asshole race hustler from Deadspin (Carron J. Phillips) doubled down and criticized the red side of the kids face in response to the Community Notes. Tweet below:

For the idiots in my mentions who are treating this as some harmless act because the other side of his face was painted red, I could make the argument that it makes it even worse.

Y’all are the ones who hate Mexicans but wear sombreros on Cinco.

What a fuckin' moron.

These sick people did this to Kyle Rittenhouse, who shouldn't have even been charged, and the kid who remained motionless in the face of that Native American that was bitching at him.

Liberals seem to have no problem attacking and harming children to promote their bullshit.

The Deadspin author, having been called out for hearing the dog whistle nobody else could, responded by suggesting that red face was even worse, and therefore he was being kind just referencing the black face. He then made two more racial stereotypes by suggesting it was white people complaining and then something about sombreros. I suspect that if the kid put on a bikini top and a skirt, the author would have praised the diversity of the kid and the NFL’s inclusion of him at the game just to get the clicks.

Mike (MJB Wolf) said...

The weird NFL trend of teams using black as the main or one of the main colors when it was not included traditionally is growing exponentially this season. The Chiefs, for example, were traditionally red and white with gold as the accent color. When did black join the mix? This kid would have been sporting a white/red face in earlier seasons. Ditto the jaguars who were in almost all black uniforms last week. Their colors were white, teal and gold. Arizona Cardinals also showed up in black/red earlier this season, when again their traditional colors were red/white.

My hunch is that it originated with the Raiders, who found their all-black uniforms gave them an intimidating edge. Like black limos and the traditional tuxedo, black uniforms give off a power vibe. The psychology of color is not my area of expertise but is something I spent a lot of time researching in my day job as a marketing professional. There is a reason most banks traditionally used dark blues in logos and fast food tended to employ red/yellow/white packaging. And yes there are people who exclusively study these things and advise people like me.

That said, Deadspin is sick. Leave the kid alone. And thank Elon for elevating Community Notes to the position it deserves.

Musk is making a remarkably simple bet with "X". Eventually, people will migrate toward the truth.

Truth is a feature that no longer exists in traditional liberal media. It's why they are all desperately trying so hard to destroy Musk. They are doggy paddling to remain relevant.

Funny. Nobody watches traditional media anymore. Their largest exposure is when their bullshit lies go viral on X. Like Joe and Mika's ridiculous satanic rants.

There is more detailed and timely information available on X. You don't have to wait for Lester Holt's producers to filter out the truth and plug in their narrative for that asshole to read. Yes, you must be discerning...but that applies to everything in life.

Voter Fraud. mRNA clot shot injuries. Truth about the war in Ukraine. It's all there on X if you're not afraid of it.

Musk is now a world leader. Better him than Bill Gates and Charles Schwab. At least Musk has a moral compass.

I wonder just how long these creeps will keep faking the news. And I wonder who is it for? The fact that the kid had half his face painted Chiefs red would have been known to the writer, and would have been obvious that it would instantly been called out.

It seems like only yesterday when journalists were crying for anonymity and understanding when adult college students were making horrible, anti-Semitic comments. Very perceptive, Rocco.

Major League professional teams with ostensibly "white" names include the Vikings, Yankees, Padres, Mariners, Rangers, Celtics, Knicks, Cavaliers, Kings, Bills, Patriots, Cowboys, Commanders, Packers, Buccaneers, 49ers, Canadiens, Senators, Canucks, Golden Knights.

We won't even get into minor leagues and colleges.

And by the way, Indians don't need your fake sympathy. They're just fine with teams being named after them. There's a petition going around tribal groups to restore the Washington Redskins. As of earlier this year, it had 128,000 Native American signatures.

There're a lot of them, Crack. But you know what there is a shortage of? Teams named for things that aren't widely respected and admired or at least feared.

You don't see teams with mascots like:

Winos
Poodles
Beginners
Crumpets
Journalists
Plecos

The Native American community is divided on this team name issue same as the general population.
I think these team mascots are like the statues of Confederate heroes, it should be up to the people of that community to decide who they want to honor in that way. Don't we have enough real problems to fight about?

Out of a population of 2.7 million. I'm not impressed. ..."The Native American community is divided on this team name issue same as the general population." Bob Boyd - 10:36

Actually the Native American population is not as divided as you might believe. In a 2016 attempt by the Washington Post to force Dan Snyder to change the name of the Redskins WP took a survey of Native Americans to see if they wanted the name change. The the first two sentences from the article,

"Nine in 10 Native Americans say they are not offended by the Washington Redskins name, according to a new Washington Post poll that shows how few ordinary Indians have been persuaded by a national movement to change the football team's moniker. The survey of 504 people across every state and the District reveals that the minds of Native Americans have remained unchanged since a 2004 poll by the Annenberg Public Policy Center found the same result. "

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/new-poll-finds-9-in-10-native-americans-arent-offended-by-redskins-name/2016/05/18/3ea11cfa-161a-11e6-924d-838753295f9a_story.html

In order to get the name changed in 2020 WP specifically avoided soliciting the opinion of Native Americans.

LOL. The idea behind naming your Team "The Chiefs" or "The Braves" or "The Indians" is because you are ROOTING FOR THEM. You are proud of your team's nickname.

Same with Vikings. Same with Cowboys. Same with Seminoles. Etc. Its no longer the "redskins". Were most Native American happy to be erased? Nope. Good God, I feel stupid just writing this.

Personally, I think Pro Sports should go the way of the dinasour. All the teams are owned by Billionaire Libtards and most the players are either thugs or have muscles for brains. As barkley said "There ain't no role models". The greedy owners try to squeeze every nickle out of their "fans" aka "Suckers" and play too many games, extend their playoffs far too long, and generally have made Sports into some bizzare money-mad/SJW circus.

I'm really annoyed by the number of people who don't know what the term, "blackface" means. It's a very specific theatrical term. It specifically refers to the style of make up applied for a Minstrel Show. (Which did extreme caricatures of African Americans.) There's no way that that kid was trying to offensively ridicule anyone.

Perhaps we need more lawsuits against people who throw out false charges of racism like this.
