A man named Bob Vander Plaats had held a candidates forum in the run up to the 2012 and 2016 Iowas caucuses, and planned to fo it again. He invited Tim Scott (who, by the way, just dropped out tonight), Vivek Ramaswamy, and Ron DeSantis. The RNC got wind of it, decided it was a debate and not a forum, and tried to prevent candidates from attending. DeSantis found a polite way to say “F U” and suddenly the RMC has backed down.

But when I started the blog, I was unhappy with the way people were too passionate, too partisan about politics, and I felt that as a political moderate, I had something to offer from the perspective of someone who was tired of hearing people be too passionate about politics.

Do you notice you never hear black people generally - including myself - talking about "woke culture"? Nobody calling out to their "woke" brothers and sisters? Look around: There are no "woke" cultural gatherings, or "woke" activists, or "woke" anything, except in the minds of lost conservative white people who are just becoming "woke" to the idea that other people exist. They'll get over trying to put everybody else down, eventually.

A good friend of mine made a TV show called WOKE and the whole thing is about how he became aware of political excesses in San Francisco. The difference is, YOU think "woke" is the political excesses - when "woke" is his experience of becoming aware to them.

“We are going on strike in order to show that we have power and that we support our queer coworkers and our queer community here in Madison,” said Evan McKenzie, a barista at the Capitol Square location and member of the store’s bargaining committee."

It costs $50 - $100 to fill up your car.

No working class person’s wages have kept up with the inflation onslaught.

The stock market is stuck in a perpetual gain / loss cycle. The bond market is a mess. As result, retirees on pensions and fixed incomes are getting slaughtered.

New appliances - from toasters to furnaces - are barely affordable and don’t work as well as they used to because they’re hamstrung by bazillions of ridiculous regulations.

The housing market is a hot mess due to skyrocketing interest rates.

People are working two jobs or coming out of retirement to work and you all tout this as “job growth.”

The national debt terrifies everyone.

You’re describing a theoretical universe described by Ivy League professor who are 6 degrees of separation from the real world.

We live in the real world and it ain’t pretty.
