I think there's a lot of genetics involved. My husband was adopted as an infant by devout Catholic parents of average intelligence and only high school educations. They were stable, loving, hard-working, and valued education. Well, I went to a high school in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles at a time when about 97% of the student body was Jewish (not nearly true now, apparently). There were more than a few, though it may be (I don't know) that, on a curve, average in the general pop seemed dumb there.
That explanation is good and on point for that man. So the question really was "What advantages did you have growing up?" I'm glad for him actually, but being Jewish was ancillary.

When I read the link below about the Haggadah and it's yearly emphasis on children asking questions not doing the gameshow answering, I thought this would be a great way to educated a child. So, Jewish customs seem to be more likely to educate children, in the sense of discipline of intellect, regulation of emotions and establishment of principles, from an early age.

His story reminded me of my own family's in bits. Such as my maternal Grandfather (whom we called 'Zayde'). Again, you’re saying (Jews) are to blame, because:
1. They purchased land
2. They were recognized as having built effective institutions of statehood on it
3. They defended that land and internationally recognized state when attacked by 5 armies.
So what did they do that was wrong? Acquire property? Build useful social and physical infrastructure on that property? Accept the UN’s offer of statehood on it? Defend it when attacked?
Even if you don’t have a “solution” in mind… (and why should you? Your own life is full of non-solutions)… you can at least state which right that they exercised should have been denied to those Jews. Which right were they wrong to pursue? Property rights, participation in international legal forums regarding their self-determination or self-defense. Just say which of those rights or all of them that you think they were allegedly wrong to pursue.
